  • 국제 수로 기구(IHO, International Hydrographic Organization)에서는 해도제작을 위한 해양조사의 기준을 마련하고, 전세계적으로 사용되는 해도의 정확도를 표준화하고 있다. IHO에서는 탐사 기술의 발달을 반영하여, 기존의 단 빔 음향 측심기 이외에도 멀티 빔 음향 측심기(Multibeam Echo Sounder)와 사이드 스캔 소나(Side Scan Sonar)를 이용한 해양 탐사 시에 요구되는 정확도와 탐사 자료에 대한 메타 데이터(Metadata)의 작성을 요구하고 있다. 본 논문은 수로 측량에서 얻어진 측량 자료들의 처리절차와 자료관리 기법에 대한 연구이다. IHO 해양탐사 기준에 맞는 탐사 자료 처리와, 메타 데이터를 자동으로 생성하여 측량자료관리 DB구축 및 관리를 주 기능으로 하는 시스템을 설계하고 구현한다. 특히, 본 논문은 해양 탐사 자료 처리 시스템을 개발하기 위하여, 해양 자료 처리 과정을 표준화하고, 국제적 해양 자료의 교환 표준인 MGD77과 호환 가능한 메타 데이터를 자동 생성하며, 1Hz로 수집되는 GPS 측위자료로부터 특징점(Waypoint)을 정의하고, 이를 추출하여 측심선을 벡터화 (Trackline Vectorizing) 하는 알고리즘을 구현한다. 개발된 시스템은 현재 국립 해양조사원의 해양2000호에서 획득된 탐사자료에 적용, 운영되고 있다.

Study on Local Path Control Method based on Beam Modeling of Obstacle Avoidance Sonar (장애물회피소나 빔 모델링 기반의 국부경로제어 기법 연구)

  • Recently, as the needs of developing the micro autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) are increasing, the acquisition of the elementary technology is urgent. While they mostly utilizes information of the forward looking sonar (FLS) in conventional studies of the local path control as an elementary technology, it is desirable to use the obstacle avoidance sonar (OAS) because the size of the FLS is not suitable for the micro AUV. In brief, the local path control system based on the OAS for the micro AUV operates with the following problems: the OAS offers low bearing resolution and local range information, it requires the system that has reduced power consumption to extend the mission execution time, and it requires an easy design procedure in terms of its structures and parameters. To solve these problems, an intelligent local path control algorithm based on the beam modeling of OAS with the evolution strategy (ES) and the fuzzy logic controller (FLC), is proposed. To verify the performance and analyze the characteristic of the proposed algorithm, the course control of the underwater flight vehicle (UFV) is performed in the horizontal plane. Simulation results show that the feasibility of real application and the necessity of additional work in the proposed algorithm.

  • This paper describes the implementation of AUSV system for Sonar Image acquisition. The system be controlled by FF-PID algorithm for the thrusters using motion sensor and DGPS. As experimental results, the control performance is that the error distance from the destination positions are under 5m in total survey track of 1km, and the image deviation is under 12 pixel from the manned survey method, which the comparison with the total image quality is almost the same as the manned survey one. Thus the AUSV system is a new method of system can be utilized on the limited survey area as the surveyor should not be able to approach on sea surface.

  • 방대한 양의 실시간 연산을 요구하는 영상 신호처리, 소나, 레이다와 같은 시스템에서는 성능을 최대화하기 위해 병렬 신호처리 시스템의 사용이 불가피하다. 본 논문은 2개의 DSP칩(TMS320C6701)을 사용하여 설계 및 구현한 병렬 신호처리보드의 구성과 이를 구동시키기 위한 소프트웨어 구성체계를 제시한다.

  • The problem that occurred in the design/fabrication/testing of the wideband transmitting power amplifier for an embedded active SONAR (Sound Navigation and Ranging) system operating underwater was analyzed and the solution of the problem was proposed in this paper. Wideband acoustic SONAR systems had been developed in order to improve the underwater detection performance. The underwater acoustic transmission system had been also developed to achieve the wideband SONAR system. In this paper, the wideband acoustic transmission signal was generated using a 2 Level sawtooth type Class D PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) which was not complicated to implement. When the sonar signals having two or more frequencies were simultaneously generated, parasitic frequencies were added to the original signals by integer multiples of the frequency difference of the original signal. To cope with this problem, we proposed a way to remove the parasitic frequency from the source signal through modeling and simulation of the implemented power amplifier and PWM control hardware using MATLAB and Simulink.

  • 자동차 산업에서 중요 화두로 떠오르고 있는 지능형 자동차 개발에 있어서, 영상처리를 이용하여 다양한 편의와 안전을 제공하며 더 나아가서는 자동주행을 목표로 하는 여러 가지 영상인식 방법들이 개발되고 있다. 본 논문은 자동 주행 분야에서 가장 중요한 문제들 중의 하나인 장애물 검출에 관한 것으로서, 여러 장애물들 중에 요금소나 진입통제 지역에 자주 나타나는 크로스 바 검출을 위한 알고리즘을 제안한다. 크로스 바의 경우 그 두께가 작아서 레이더로 잘 검출되지 않으므로 특히 영상처리로 검출을 해야 할 장애물에 속한다. 본 논문에서는 도로 상에 일반적으로 존재하는 크로스 바의 특징을 기반으로 한 영상 처리를 통해 바를 검출한다. 먼저 색상과 모양 정보를 이용하여 크로스 바의 노란색 영역이라고 판단되는 부분을 추출한다. 이들 가운데 수평을 이루고 있는 부분이 존재하면 크로스 바로 판단한다. 실험 결과는 제안하는 알고리즘이 제동거리 밖에서 정확하게 크로스 바를 검출함을 보여준다.

  • This paper presents a study on Fault History Management Equipment (FHME) of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). UAS comprise of various types of electronic equipment for high reliability design for flight safety. Consequently, it is mandatory for each on-board equipment to have its own Built-In-Test (BIT) function, because rapid fault-detections for UAS are necessary. FHME is developed for the purposes of display, storage and management of such BIT results on ground. This paper describes the outline, development requirements, design and verification process of FHME.

  • In this paper, the automatic depth control system and the collision avoidance system of the Manta UUV have been established in vertical and horizontal plane. The PID control theory and the Fuzzy theory are adopted in this system. The 6-DOF MMG model had been established by theoretical calculations and captive model test results. The depth control simulation results have been fully presented. The collision risks of the UUV had calculated by the fuzzy theory with the virtual sonar system. Finally, the automatic depth control system and the collision avoidance simulation system of Manta UUV have been fully developed and simulated.

  • The multi-beam side scan sonar system uses the towfish installed sonars, it is an equipment that search images of the bottom surface of the sea in real time. It is a typical equipment that is related to a sea investigation such as a geological survey, seabed communication cable and power line cable placing repair investigation, fish breeding ground investigation, sea purification, relic and mineral investigation, and mine and submarine search. Recently, it is used to sea purification and geological survey that require information of the correct surface of the seabed. Therefore, this research develops multi-beam sensors for a side scan sonar that supply various information with the fast scan speed and correct high resolution that is not a simple underwater investigation equipment.

Surface Treatment of Silica Nanoparticles and the Characteristics of their Composites with Thermoplastic Polyurethane Elastomer (실리카 나노입자의 표면처리와 이를 포함한 열가소성 폴리우레탄 복합소재의 특성)

  • Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) elastomer is used as an encapsulant in undersea sonar devices. A new material for sonar encapsulant exhibiting better mechanical strength than TPU along with a lower swelling ratio for seawater and oil is required to prolong its application. TPU grafted silica nanoparticles (TPU-g-silica) were prepared and then they were melt mixed with TPU to fabricate desirable composites for underwater applications. The composite containing silica nanoparticles exhibited better tensile strength and lower swelling ratios in the seawater and oil than TPU regardless of the surface treatment of the silica particles. At fixed silica content in the composite, the TPU/TPU-g-silica composite exhibited better tensile strength and lower swelling ratio than the TPU composite with the pristine silica particles. Furthermore, the TPU/TPU-g-silica composite exhibited enhanced tensile strength as compared to TPU after being impregnated with oil.
