An Effective Coverage Extension Scheme for Trisector Cellular Systems using Multi-hop Relay based on IEEE 802.16j (IEEE 802.16j 기반의 중계기를 도입한 3섹터 셀룰러 시스템에서 효율적인 기지국 커버리지 확장 기법)

  • In this paper, We analysis of effective coverage extension for Tri-sector cellular systems using Multi-hop Relay based on IEEE802.16j system. In the proposed international standard of IEEE 802.16j MMR (Mobile Multi-hop Relay) use of the omni-directional antenna, 3-sector and 6-sector antenna is considered to Base Station and Relay Station. Omni-directional antenna service can offer as all directions but a throughput decreases due to the signal interference of near Relay Stations. In the directional antenna, cause of an interference with the base station which it arranges an antenna so that a beam can have the direct and does with neighbor Base Station and Relay Station can be reduced interference, therefore the effective throughput is higher than the omni-directional antenna system. But, In case of Base Station and Relay Station use the directional antenna, the efficiency which the directional antenna has the Co-channel interference due to in the different cell by the channel reuse is decreased. In this study, we propose the structure of arranging the Base Station and Relay Station having the directional antenna in the NBTC, WBTC antenna in a multi-tier. It compared and analyzed with the mode that the multi-hop Relay Station has the omni-directional antenna, Relay Station are used the NBTC antenna and the WBTC antenna system also, We analyze a relation between the performance degradation and the cell coverage extension which it follows because the number of hop in the multi-hop Relay Station.

Design of Wideband Loop Antenna for UWB Applications (UWB 응용을 위한 광대역 루프 안테나 설계)

  • In this paper, a wideband loop antenna for UWB applications is studied. The proposed wideband loop antenna consists of a circular loop and circular sectors. Circular sectors with a ultra-wideband characteristic are used to connect the circular loop and the center feed points. Optimal design parameters are obtained by analyzing the effects of the gap between the circular sectors and the radius of the circular loop on the input reflection coefficient and gain characteristics. The optimized wideband loop antenna is fabricated on an FR4 substrate with a dimension of $41mm{\times}41mm$. Experimental results show that the antenna has a desired UWB characteristic with a frequency band of 3.1-11.0 GHz for a VSWR < 2.25.

  • This paper presents a basic characteristics of 4-element circular array dipole antennas for 4-sector beam steering. The coupled integral equations for the unknown current distributions on dipole elements are derived and solved by applying Galerkin's method of moments. The parasitic elements have been used to increase the directional gain and the beam is steered electronically either by sswitching between the parasitic elements or switching the position of the active element. The parasitic elements are switched short-circuited or open-circuited as required to steer a directional beam. In order to verify the theoretical analysis, the radiation pattern was compared with experiments.

  • In this paper, a wideband loop antenna is designed using a CPW feeding method for indoor digital TV applications. The proposed loop antenna consists of a square loop and two circular sectors which connect the loop with central feed points, and the CPW feed line is inserted in the lower circular sector. The CPW feed line is designed to match with the 75 ohm port impedance for DTV applications, and the ground slots are etched in order to improve the impedance matching in the middle frequency region. The optimized antenna is fabricated on FR4 substrate, and the experiment results show that it operates in the frequency band of 463-1,280 MHz for a VSWR < 2, which assures the operation in the DTV band.

  • In this paper, we have investigated the adaptive sector antenna which can control the size and direction angle of sectors, and proposed the three sectorization algorithms which are based on distribution of users, distribution of codes and distribution of signal power, respectively. The BERs of each sectorization algorithms are compared through computer simulation. As results of the simulation, the sectorization algorithm based on signal power are better than the other in terms nf BER. We have simulated error performance the DS-CDMA/BPSK system with the antenna in AWGN, frequency non-selective Rayleigh fading and MAI channels.

국방 센서네트워크의 핵심요소 기술

  • 본고에서는 센서네트워크 기술의 역사와 배경 그리고 국방분야에 적용 가능한 센서네트워크 시스템에 대해서 기술한다. 국방 센서네트워크 시스템은 다른 센서네트워크 응용분야에 비해 유선 망 및 이동통신망 시스템에서 요구하는 신뢰성 있는 정보전달, 실시간 지원 등을 요구하고 있으며 또한 다중센서를 복합적으로 이용하여 적의 침입 또는 이벤트 발생을 100% 탐지하고 오보율 낮출 수 있는 기능을 요구한다. 본고에서는 이러한 국방 센서네트워크 시스템에서 요구하는 사항들을 만족시키기 위해 시스템의 주요 구성 요소들에서 수행해야 할 기술들, 센서 신호처리 및 식별 기술, 신뢰성 있는 패킷 전달을 위한 섹터안테나 및 섹터안테나 기반의 MAC 기술 그리고 실시간과 신뢰성 보장을 위한 라우팅 기술에 대해 논의한다.

Localization Algorithm in Wireless Sensor Networks Using a Directional Antenna (지향성 안테나를 이용한 무선 센서 네트워크에서의 위치 인식 알고리즘)

  • The proposed algorithm to be explained in this paper is the localization technique using directional antenna. Here, it is assumed that anchor node has the ability to transfer the azimuth of each sector using GPS modules, sector antenna, and the digital compass. In the conventional sensor network, the majority of localization algorithms were capable of estimating the position information of the sensor node by knowing at least 3 position values of anchor nodes. However, this paper has proposed localization algorithm that estimates the position of nodes to continuously move with sensor nodes and traveling nodes. The proposed localization mechanisms have been simulated in the Matlab. The simulation results show that our scheme performed better than other mechanisms (e.g. MCL, DV-distance).

Design of Slot-Coupled Back-to-Back Microstrip Phased Array Antenna with Symmetrical SSAIP Configuration (대칭 SSAIP 구조의 슬롯 결합 Back-to-Back 마이크로스트립 위생배열 안테나의 설계)

  • 본 연구에서는 수평면에 대해서 양방향성을 갖고 접지면을 향해서 주빔이 25$^{\circ}$의 기울기로 지향하도록 설계된 대칭 SSAIP(Strip, Air, Inverted Patch) 구조의 슬롯 결합 back-to-back 마이크로스트립 위생배열 안테나를 설계, 제작하였다. 이 구조의 안테나는 2-섹터 셀 사이트에서 기지국 또는 중계기의 지향성 안테나에 적용할 수 있으며, 도로 환경에 따라 지향각 25$^{\circ}$를 기준으로 약 $\pm$$10^{\circ}$정도 빔을 틸트할 수 있도록 위상기와 결합된다. 안테나는 공동모델을 이용하여 해석하고 앙상블로 설계한다. IMT-2000의 상.하향 링크 주파수 범위인 1.885~2.2GHz에서 안테나를 측정한 결과 임피던스 대역폭은 약 21%이였으며, $\pm$37$^{\circ}$의 지향각 오차를 보였다.

  • For the purpose of controlling the beam tilt angle of the base station sector array antenna, phase shifter is used. Phase angles of this antenna depending on the tilt angles are designed, and the patterns on the vertical and horizontal planes are simulated and analyzed for the evaluation of base station antenna. This analysis is used in the optimal design of base station antenna because of maximum cell coverage and incremented traffic capacity, decreased interference.
