Performance analysis of tunnel scanning system based on Japanese performance evaluation system (일본 성능평가 제도기반 터널 스캐닝 시스템 성능 분석)

  • The performance of the existing tunnel scanning system was analyzed through the post-evaluation of NETIS (New Technology Information System) and Inspection Support Technology Performance Catalog. Suggestions for improvement and development direction of the tunnel scanning system were deduced. As new technology of Japan gave priority to providing user-centered information, it was possible to objectively compare and analyze the characteristics of various tunnel scan systems through post-evaluation of NETIS and standard test methods in the Inspection Support Technology Performance Catalog. Construction New Technology of Korea was centered on suppliers of technology certification, making it impossible to objectively compare the performance of tunnel scanning systems. The performance was compared and evaluated indirectly by comparing the specifications of the camera, which is a core device of Japan's tunnel scanning system. For the future development of tunnel scanning systems, high-resolution and fast exposure performance of cameras and corresponding high-intensity lighting devices are required. For this purpose, it is necessary to make an experimental environment in which the performance of the camera and lighting can be analyzed indoors.

  • A qualification of propellant for a AKM(Apogee Kick Motor) has been conducted by firing standard motors. The Standard motor used in developing process of KSLV-I's AKM is ST-6 whose diameter is about six inches. HTPB composite propellant are used in these motors. Several standard motors are fired and compared with simulation results. A mean value of characteristic velocity is 1518 m/s. The characteristic value for prediction is 1516 m/s, and the thrust loss is about 5.9%. Differences between the measurements and prediction are less than 3%.

  • The behavior of composite materials bridge decks for use in deteriorated bridge decks replacement are investigated experimentally in this study. As for the performance evaluation of bridge decks, experimental studies on the 5 test specimens with 1/10 scale of full size were carried out. Three specimens were fabricated from sandwich upper flange and two specimens were fabricated from laminated upper flange. The constituents of bridge decks were glass fiber performs and epoxy resin. The experimental results, i.e., the maximum strength stiffness, stiffness, and deformation capacity, were summarized. The results of the finite element analysis were compared with the experimental results for the verification of validity.

  • In this study, improved test methods, which consider the real site test conditions, were suggested to measure for geosynthetics chemical resistance. For this purpose index and performance tests were done to specify and regulate the test method most approaching to the installation condition and accelerated model by Arrhenius equation was applied to interpretate the experimental data. Through the analysis and comparison of the overall experimental results, we could suggest the possibility and setup of the advanced chemical resistance test method for geosynthetics fitting to the field installation conditions.

  • When a certain magnitude earthquake occurs, serious damage for human and properties is a major concern for most of the subway stations which were not applied for earthquake resistant design. Consideration and experimental verification for ground and structural behavior based on soil-structure interaction relation are required to evaluate seismic performance of the subway station as embedded structures. For 1/60 scaled subway station model, centrifuge modeling shaking table test is performed using Kobe and Northridge earthquakes. Compare to displacements and moments of the underground and structure obtained by soil response analysis and response displacement method based on experimental results, this paper shows how to evaluate seismic performance of subway station.

Performance Evaluation of Interconnection Network in Microservers (마이크로서버의 내부 연결망 성능평가)

  • A microserver is a type of a computing server, in which two or more CPU nodes are implemented on a separate computing board, and a plurality of computing boards are integrated on a main board. In building a cluster system, the microserver has advantages in several points such as energy efficiency, area occupied, and ease of management compared to the existing method of mounting legacy servers in multiple racks. In addition, since the microserver uses a fast interconnection network between CPU nodes, performance improvement for data transfers is expected. The proposed microserver can mount a total of 16 computing boards with 4 CPU nodes on the main board, and uses Serial-RapidIO (SRIO) as an interconnection network. In order to analyze the performance of the proposed microserver in terms of the interconnection network which is a core performance issue of the microserver, we compare and quantify the performance of commercial microservers. As a result of the test, it showed up to about 7 times higher bandwidth improvement when transmitting data using the interconnection network. In addition, with CloudSuite benchmark programs used in actual cloud computing, maximum 60% reduction in execution time was obtained compared to commercial microservers with similar CPU performance specification.

  • The performance of hose reel hydrant system and indoor hydrant system was tested comparatively. At that result, a hose reel hydrant system are excellent and have the same performance as indoor hydrant system. If hose reel hydrant system has the performance that pressure is more than 0.17 MPa and flow-rate is over 130 LPM at the nozzle, it can be substituted for indoor hydrant system.

  • In this study, a simulation model developed for a hydraulic breaker is verified through comparison of simulation results to the experimental results. For performance optimization, the design parameters are selected based on the physical parameters of the equipment for ease of modification. Also a factorial experiment and regression analysis were conducted to observe the effect of each parameter on the performance of the hydraulic breaker. As a result, a method for optimizing the performance of a hydraulic breaker is proposed.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 수도권 전동차량의 주행성능을 평가하는 방법으로 진동성능을 비교검토하기 위하여 실차측정하고 분석한 것이다. 전동차량의 제작년도별로 측정대상차량을 샘플링하여 다양한 조건에서 진동을 측정하고 실측데이타를 시간영역의 통계적 방법으로 분석한 결과 제작년도에 따른 영향도 약간 나타났으며 전동차량의 2차 현가장치의 종류에 따른 영향을 발견할 수 있었다. 또한 측정선로구간의 특성에 따른 영향도 비교적 잘 나타나고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

  • Recently, standardization of installation progress and technology of site acceptance test(SAT) for energy storage system(ESS) are being required due to performance of ESS depending on working condition and environment even though the quality and safety of each component of ESS is guaranteed. And also, it has been required to perform not only performance testing by H/W equipments but also performance verification by S/W tool, in order to more accurately and reliably validate the performance of the ESS in advanced countries. Therefore, this paper proposes evaluation algorithm for SAT to evaluate performance of ESS and presents modeling of SAT test equipment for ESS by using PSCAD/EMTDC. Furthermore, 30[kW] scaled portable test equipments is implemented based on the proposed algorithm and modeling. From the various simulation and test results, it is confirmed that performance of ESS related to characteristics of capacity and Round-trip efficiency, Duty-cycle efficiency, low voltage ride through(LVRT) and Anti-islanding can be accurately evaluated and that the simulation results of PSCAD/EMTDC are identical to test results of 30[kW] test equipment.
