A Study on Prediction of Land Use Demand in Seongnam-city Using System Dynamics (시스템 다이내믹스 기법을 활용한 성남시 토지이용수요 예측에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to predict the land use demand of Seongnam-city using system dynamics and to simulate the effect of changes in family structure and land use density adjustment policy on land use demand. This study attempted to construct causal loop diagrams and an analysis model. The changes in land use demand over time were predicted through simulation results. As a result of the analysis, as of 2035, an additional supply of 2.08 km2 for residential land and 1.36 km2 for commercial land is required. Additionally, the current supply area of industrial land can meet the demand. Three policy experiments were conducted by changing the variable values in the basic model. In the first policy experiment, it was found that when the number of household members decreased sharply compared to the basic model, up to 7.99 km2 of additional residential land were required. In the second policy experiment, if the apartment floor area ratio was raised from 200% to 300%, it was possible to meet the demand for residential land with the current supply area of Seongnam-city. In the third policy experiment, it was found that even if the average number of floors in the commercial area was raised from four to five and the building-to-land ratio in the commercial area was raised from 80% to 85%, the demand for commercial land exceeded the supply area of the commercial area in Seongnam-city. This study is meaningful in that it proposes a new analytical model for land use demand prediction using system dynamics, and empirically analyzes the model by applying the actual urban planning status and statistics of Seongnam-city.

  • I conducted this study, trying to improve the methods of Sung-Nam city local tax bills, which was based on my previous study where I suggested methods into developing redesign of tax bills. Local tax bills are labeled to be very intricate and puzzling experience to tax payers. To resolve this issue, several local governments have redesigned their tax bills for citizens; however, it was not effective. Therefore I apply the methods to protect their privacy on tax bills and provide checks on their pay bills. Also I design to distinguish between different taxes and change into a better layout for their legibility and better understanding on tax bills. From my previous study, I utilized suggestions into Sung-Nam local tax bills which changed flaws into improvements and easier understanding of the tax payers. I believe the improvements in Sung Nam local tax bills will pursue the public interest of the community through public service design innovations.

  • 본 연구에서는 성남지역노인들의 식습관 및 영양소 섭취실태를 조사하여 지역사회에 알맞는 영양개선 프로그램을 개발하기 위한 기초자료를 마련하고자 성남시 노인정에 등록된 노인 318명(남자 153명, 여자 165명)을 대상으로 설문지와 면접을 통한 24 시간 회상법을 이용하여 식습관과 영양 섭취량을 조사하였다. 조사 결과 균형 잡힌 식생활 태도의 점수가 대상자 모두에서 가장 낮은 것으로 나타났고 규칙적인 식생활 점수는 여자에 비해 남자 대상자들에서 유의적으로 높은 결과를 보였다(P<0.05). (중략)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the growth of major industries and effects of regional employment on the economic growth of Goyang city and Seongnam city in Gyeonggi Province. We examine the structural changes of the industrial specialization and factors of the growth in two regions by applying Location Quotients and dynamic shift-share analysis respectively. Both regions have been strengthened gradually in their industrial bases during the last 20 years since they have developed as the bed-towns for Seoul with the First Newtown Project of the Metropolitan Seoul area. These two regions have secured in the industrial specialization and competitiveness compare to other regions in the Metropolitan Seoul area. In particular, knowledge service industries have been agglomerated in both regions. Goyang city have secured in the medical welfare, culture and tourism of service sectors, while Seongnam city have secured in the information service and science technology service sectors. Therefore, each region might be differentiated regional foster industries in these sectors in order to succeed the economic development.

A Study on the Oral Health of 12-year Old Schoolchildren in Sung-Nam City (성남시 12세 아동의 구강건강실태에 관한 조사연구)

  • This research was conducted in order to collect and arrange an oral health information needed the school oral hygiene as a part of a long term local community oral hygiene development to promote the oral health of the residents in Sung-Nam. After gathering the information of oral hygiene of 12-year old schoolchildren in Sung-Nam, these conclusions are reached: (1) The experience of dental caries in permanent teeth of 12-year old schoolchildren in Sung-Nam was revealed 74.7%, proportion of children with one or more caries in permanent teeth was 36.2%, and DMFT index was 2.75. (2) DT rate was 28.4% in total and regional difference has been revealed. In Sujung-Gu, DT rate was 36,8% and this was nearly as twice as 19.8% in Bundang-Gu. (3) For permanent teeth, fillings requirements for one surface were 26.6%, more that two surfaces were 13.3%. In addition, artificial crown treatment requirements were 1.8%, dental pulp treatment was 5.3%, and extraction requirement was 2.2%. In contrast, holders of pit and fissure sealant were only 27.1%. (4) In Sung-Nam, oral hygiene education campaign for 12-year old schoolchildren needs to be continued. Simultaneously, early stage examination and preventive approaches for decayed teeth such as pit and fissure sealant need to be considered for schoolchildren who have high tendency of dental caries and who are in areas which show high percentage of dental caries occurrence.

Distributional Patterns and the Evaluation of Hydrophytic Plants of Urban Wetlands in Seongnam City, Gyunggi-do Province, Korea (경기도 성남시 도시지역 습지의 유형 분포 및 습지식물의 특성 평가)

  • This study was carried out to obtain ecological information necessary for a conservation plan based on the distributional patterns, wetland types, and hydrophytic characteristics of urban wetlands in Seongnam City, Kyunggi Province where representing the various patterns of land use made by rapid urbanization since 1970s. Total 162 sites of four wetland types were identified as urban wetlands during the first survey. The sites were classified into 55 forested swamps, 4 riverine wetlands, 62 abandoned paddy fields, 37 small ponds, and 4 reservoirs, etc. The second survey targeted 107 sites which were identified as good wetlands. It showed that 42 sites(about 39%) were already degraded due to drainage, landfill, and crop cultivation at 6 months intervals. Both hydrologic conditions and hydrophytic characteristics of 27 good wetlands help maintain current ecological status, but most wetlands have been degraded by artificial impacts. Among 184 species identified, only 75 species(about 40.7%) were hydrophytes. Prevalence Index of hydrophyte based on three categories of OBL(obligatory wetland plant), FAC(facultitative plant), UPL(obligatory upland plant) was 3.7, indicating that vegetation data alone is inadequate to designate as wetlands. This study revealed that as critical habitats for wildlife they playa vital role in ecotone between both terrestrial and aquatic ecosystem with its proper distributional pattern in spite of their small areas compared to the entire geographic region of the City.
