A Candidate Generation System based on Probabilistic Evaluation in Computer Go (확률적 평가에 기반한 컴퓨터 바둑의 후보 생성 시스템)

  • If there exists a model that calculates the proper candidate position whenever the game of Go is in progress, it can be used for setting up the prototype of the candidate generation algorithm without using case-based reasoning. In this paper, we analyze Go through combinatorial game theory and on the basis of probability matrix (PM) showing the difference of the territory of the black and the white. We design and implement a candidate generation system(CGS) to find the candidates at a situation in Go. CGS designed in this paper can compute Influence power, safety, probability value(PV), and PM and then generate candidate positions for a present scene, once a stone is played at a scene. The basic strategy generates five candidates for the Present scene, and then chooses one with the highest PV. CGS generates the candidate which emphasizes more defence tactics than attack ones. In the opening game of computer Go, we can know that CGS which has no pattern is somewhat superior to NEMESIS which has the Joseki pattern.

Development of Structural Analysis and Pre-post Program for Mega Frame System (초대형 골조시스템 전용 전후처리 및 해석프로그램의 개발)

  • Recently, various types of structural systems for skyscrapers are studied as the height and size of the building structures rapidly increase due to social and economical needs. The mega frame system among them, which is the structural system developed recently, is known as a suitable structural system for skyscrapers because this structural system has sufficient stiffness against the lateral forces by combination of mega members which consist of many columns and girders. Since the mega frame structure has significant numbers of elements and nodes, it takes tremendous times and computer memories to analyze and design the structures. Therefore, the exclusive structural analysis program for mega frame system is developed to reduce the efforts and time required for the analysis and design of mega frame structure. To this end, an efficient modelling technique using the characteristics of mega frame structures and an efficient analytical model, which uses a few DOFs selected by the user using the matrix condensation method, are developed in this study. Static and dynamic analyses are conducted using an example structure. The effectiveness and accuracy of the developed program we verified by the comparison between the results of the proposed method and the conventional method.

  • COSMOS system which was developed in Seoul for real-time signal control was designed to judge traffic condition for practicing signal operation. However, it occurs efficiency problem that stop line detection and queue length detection could not judge overflow saturation of street. For that reason, following research process GPS data of Seoul city's corporationowned taxi to calculate travel speed that excluded existing system of stop line detection and queue length detection. Also, "Research of calculating queue length by GPS data" which was progressed with following research expressed queue length. It is based on establishing algorithm of judging congestion situation. The algorithm was applied to a few areas where appeared congestion situation consistently to confirm real time traffic condition with established network.   • In the medical field, augmented reality is being used for surgical and medical education. However, augmented reality technology is not applied to emergency patients. In this paper, we propose a medical service support model that can support rapid medical service to emergency patients through an augmented reality - based IT device. The proposed model has the function of collecting the information necessary for the first aid simply through the IT equipment based on the reality of reality, and also receiving the first aid method appropriate for the emergency situation to the medical staff and supporting the service. In addition, the proposed model hierarchically collects information related to emergency patient information inquiry, emergency patient status and emergency treatment based on Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). The collected information uses a pair of comparison matrices to compensate for the ambiguity between the information. In particular, the collected information is stored in the server of the medical staff, and in addition to the unique information of the collected information, the collected information can be reflected in the medical service of the medical staff.

A Code-level Parallelization Methodology to Enhance Interactivity of Smartphone Entertainment Applications (스마트폰 엔터테인먼트 애플리케이션의 상호작용성 개선을 위한 코드 수준 병렬화 방법론)

  • One of the fundamental requirements of entertainment applications is interactivity with users. The mobile device such as the smartphone, however, does not guarantee it due to the limit of the application processor's computing power, memory size and available electric power of the battery. This paper proposes a methodology to boost responsiveness of interactive applications by taking advantage of the parallel architecture of mobile devices which, for instance, have dual-core, quad-core or octa-core. To harness the multi-core architecture, it exploits the POSIX thread, a platform-independent thread library to be able to be used in various mobile platforms such as Android, iOS, etc. As a useful application example of the methodology, a heavy matrix calculation function was transformed to a parallelized version which showed around 2.5 ~ 3 times faster than the original version in a real-world usage environment.

  • A discrete dynamic model for tracking feature points in 2D images is developed. Conventional snake approaches deform a contour to lock onto features of interest within an image by finding a minimum of its energy functional, composed of internal and external forces. The neighborhood around center snaxel is a space matrix, typically rectangular. The structure of the model proposed in this paper is a set of connected vertices. Energy model is designed for its local minima to comprise the set of alternative solutions available to active process. Block on tracking is one dimension, line type. Initial starting points are defined to the satisfaction of indent states, which is then automatically modified by an energy minimizing process. The track is influenced by curvature constraints, ascent/descent or upper/lower points. The advantages and effectiveness of this layer approach may also be applied to feature points tracking of digital image whose pixels have one directional properties with high autocorrelation between adjacent data lines, vertically or horizontally. The test image is the ultrasonic carotid artery image of human body, and we have verified its effect on intima/adventitia starting points tracking.

  • An actuator mixer design using convex optimization technique situation where the propulsion system of an electric VTOL UAV during vertical take-off and landing maneuvers is proposed. The attainable control set to analyze the impact from failure of each motor and propeller can be calculated and illustrated using the properties of the convex function. The control allocation can be defined as a convex function optimization problem to obtain an optimal solution in real time. The mixer is implemented using a convex optimization solver, and the performance of the control allocation methods is compared to the attainable control set. Finally, the proposed mixer is compared with other techniques with nonlinear sux degree-of-freedom simulation.

Receivers for Spatially Multiplexed Space-Time Block Coded Systems : Reduced Complexity (시공간블록부호화를 적용한 공간다중화 시스템 수신기 : 복잡도 감소 방안)

  • In this paper, we derive some properties of linear detectors (zero forcing or minimum mean square error) at spatial multiplexing systems with alamouti's space-time block code. Based on the derived properies, this paper proposes low-complexity receivers. Implementing MMSE detector adaptively, the number of weight vectors to be calculated and updated is greatly reduced with the derived properties compared to the conventional methods. In the case of recursive least square algorithm, with the proposed approach computational complexity is reduced to less than the half. We also identify that sorted QR decomposition detector, which reduces the complexity of V-Blast detector, has the same properties for unitary matrix Q and upper triangular matrix R. A complexity reduction of about 50%, for sorted QR decomposition detector, can be achieved by using those properties without the loss of performance.

Efficient Analysis of Shear Walls with Openings (개구부가 있는 전단벽의 효율적인 해석)

  • The wall system that is composed only of reinforced concrete walls and slabs is adopted on many high-rise apartment buildings recently constructed. In the apartment buildings, a shear wall may have one or mote openings for functional reasons. Many researches on the analysis of shear wall with openings were performed. But, some restrictions prevent those research results being applied to practical analysis and design procedure. It is necessary to use subdivided finite elements lot accurate analysis of the wall system with openings. But it would cost tremendous amount of analysis time and computer memory if the entire building structure is subdivided into a finer mesh. An efficient analysis method which can be used regardless of the number, size and location of openings is proposed in this study. The analysis method uses super element, matrix condensation technique and fictitious beam technique. Analyses of example structures having various types of openings were performed to verify the efficiency of proposed method. It was confirmed that the proposed method have outstanding accuracy with drastically reduced time and computer memory from the analyses of example structures.

Design of Neuro-Fuzzy Controller using Relative Gain Matrix (상대 이득 행렬을 이용한 뉴로-퍼지 제어기의 설계)

  • In the fuzzy control for the multi-variable system, it is difficult to obtain the fuzzy rule. Therefore, the parallel structure of the independent single input-single output fuzzy controller using a pairing between the input and output variable is applied to the multi-variable system. However, among the input/output variables which arc not paired the interactive effects should be taken into account. these mutual coupling of variables affect the control performance. Therefore, for the control system with a strong coupling property, the control performance is sometimes lowered. In this paper, the effect of mutual coupling of variables is considered by the introduction of a neuro-fuzzy controller using relative gain matrix. This proposed neuro-fuzzy controller automatically adjusts the mutual coupling weight between variables using a neural network which is realized by back-propagation algorithm. The good performance of the proposed nero-fuzzy controller is verified through computer simulations on 200MW boiler systems.
