Sampled-Data Fault Detection Observer Design of Takagi-Sugeno Fuzzy Systems (타카기-수게노 퍼지 시스템을 위한 샘플치 고장검출 관측기 설계)

  • In this paper, we address fault detection observer design problem of T-S fuzzy systems with sensor fault. To detect fault, T-S fuzzy model-based observer is used. By introducing $\mathfrak{H}$_ performance index, an observer is designed as sensitive to fault as possible. The fault is then detected by a fault decision logic. The design conditions are derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities. An illustrative example is provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed fault detection technique.

Reduced-order Parameter-dependent Robust $H_{\infty}$ Filtering for Discrete Uncertain Singular Systems (이산 불확실 특이시스템의 변수종속 차수축소 강인 $H_{\infty}$ 필터링)

  • In this paper, we present a reduced-order parameter-dependent robust $H_{\infty}$ filter design method for discrete-time singular systems with polytopic uncertainties. A BRL(bounded real lemma) for parameter-dependent singular systems is derived from a parameter-dependent Lyapunov function. On the basis of the obtained BRL, low order robust $H_{\infty}$ filter design method is presented by polytopic approach, new reduced-order method, and LMI(linear matrix inequality) technique. Finally, a numerical example is presented to illustrated the feasibility of the proposed method.

  • In this paper, an analytical model to predict the resisting capacity of slender RC columns is introduced. Material and geometric nonlinearities are taken into account, and the layer approach is adopted to simulate the different material properties across the sectional depth. On the basis of the obtained numerical analysis results, an improved design equation as a function of concrete strength, slenderness ratio, steel ratio and eccentricity for slender RC columns, which can be used effectively in the preliminary design stage, is introduced. Finally, P-M interaction diagrams constructed by the introduced equation are compared with the ACI method with the objective of establishing the relative efficiencies of the introduced equation.

  • A novel, simple and broadband $90^{\circ}$ phase shifter was proposed and fabricated by the LTCC process. It is composed of a $180^{\circ}$ transmission line between two $90^{\circ}$ shorted transmission lines. Design equations for the proposed $90^{\circ}$ phase shifter are derived by the method of admittance parameter analysis. Based on design equations, $90^{\circ}$ phase shifter was designed and fabricated to operate in the C-band with ${\pm}2^{\circ}$ of phase deviation.

  • QFT is a very practical design technique that emphasizes the use of feedback for achieving the desired system performances in despite of plant uncertainties and disturbances. The loop shaping procedure of QFT is employed to design the robust controller, until the desired bounds are satisfied. This paper presents an optimization algorithm for designing PID controller using the loop shaping of QFT. The proposed method identifies the parameter vector of PID controller from a linear system that develops from rearranging the two dimensional system matrices and output vectors obtained from the QFT bounds. The feasibilities of the suggested algorithm are illustrated with a turbine speed control problem.

Observer-based decentralized fuzzy controller design of nonlinear interconnected system for PEMFC (고분자 전해질 연료전지 시스템을 위한 비선형 상호결합 시스템의 관측기 기반 분산 퍼지 제어기 설계)

  • This paper deals with the observer-based decentralized fuzzy controller design for nonlinear interconnected system for PEMFC. The nonlinear interconnected system is represented by a Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model. Based on T-S fuzzy interconnected system, the fuzzy observer and the decentralized fuzzy controller are designed. The stability condition of the closed-loop system with the proposed controller is represented to the linear matrix inequality (LMI) form, and the observer and control gain s are obtained by LMI. An example is given to show the verification discussed throughout the paper.

  • In practical design studies, most of designers solve multidisciplinary problems with large size and complex design system. These multidisciplinary problems have hundreds of analysis and thousands of variables. The sequence of process to solve these problems affects the speed of total design cycle. Thus it is very important for designer to reorder the original design processes to minimize total computational cost. This is accomplished by decomposing large multidisciplinary problem into several multidisciplinary analysis subsystem (MDASS) and processing it in parallel. This paper proposes new strategy for parallel decomposition of multidisciplinary problem to raise design efficiency by using genetic algorithm and shows the relationship between decomposition and multidisciplinary design optimization (MDO) methodology.

  • The problem of controlling asynchronous sequential machines is addressed in this paper Corrective control means to make behavior of an asynchronous sequential machine equal to that of a given model. The main objective is to develope a corrective controller, especially when a model is given as nondeterministic, or a set of reference models. We first review representation of nondeterministic models and model matching problems with nondeterministic models, which are presented in the companion paper. We then propose necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of corrective controllers and describe their design procedure. To show the applicability, the proposed control scheme is demonstrated in an example.

  • This paper proposes a decentralized control technique for 2-dimensional experimental helicopter systems. The decentralized control technique is especially suitable in large-scale control systems. We derive the stabilization condition for the interconnected Takagi-Sugeno (TS) fuzzy system using the rigorous tool-Lyapunov stability criterion and formulate the controller design condition in terms of linear matrix inequality (LMI). To demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed method, we include the experiment result as well as a computer simulation one, which strongly convinces us the applicability to the industry.

  • This paper proposes efficient digital hardware design method by using fixed weight of pre-trained neural network. For this, arithmetic operations of PEs(Processing Elements) are represented with matrix-vector multiplication. The relationship of fixed weight and input data present bit-level array structure architecture which is consisted operation node. To minimize the operation node, this paper proposes node elimination method and setting common node depend on bit pattern of weight. The result of FPGA simulation shows the efficiency on hardware cost and operation speed with full precision. And proposed design method makes possibility that many PEs are implemented to on-chip.
