Line Voltage Regulation of Urban Transit Systems Using Supercapacitors (슈퍼커패시터를 이용한 도시형 철도의 가선전압 안정화)

  • This paper proposes a regulation method of DC line voltage for urban transit system fluctuated during the acceleration or deceleration by using supercapacitor. Supercapacitor is modelled electrically under the assumption of three different time constants of RC circuits with variable capacitances depending on the voltage. And its parameters are determined by the experimental measurements. The energy storage system using supercapacitors is installed based on this model, and the proposed model is tested through the simulations and experiments, and the controller for charging and discharging is designed. Finally, it is tested at Kyoungsan test site for the urban light rail road system and the energy saving effect is evaluated economically.

Evaluation of Residual Strength in Damaged Brittle Materials (취성재의 손상후 잔류강도 평가)

  • In structural applications, brittle materials such as soda-lime glasses and ceramics are often subjected to multiaxial stress. Brittle materials with crack or damaged by foreign object impacts are abruptly fractured from cracks, because of their properities of very high strength and low fracture toughness. But in most cases, the residual strength has been derived from tests under uniaxial stress such as a 4-point bend test. The strengths under multiaxial stresses might be different from the strength. In comparable tests, the residual strength under biaxial stress state by the ball-on-ring test was greater than that under the uniaxial one by the 4-point bend test. In the case that crack having 90deg. to loading direction, the ratio of biaxial to uniaxial flexure strength was 1.12. At a different crack angle to loading direction when it was evaluated by the 4-point bend test, the residual strength was different and the ratio of 45deg. to 90deg. was 1.16.

  • 고전압 기기의 절연물 내부에서 부분방전 현상이 발생되면 절연파괴로 진전된다. 회전기기가 운전중인 상태에서 on-line 부분방전시험은 고정자 권선의 절연상태를 검사, 평가 할 수 있는 중요한 수단으로서 이러한 부분방전시험을 통하여 회전기기 시스템의 사고예방을 위한 진단을 할 수 있다. 부분방전 펄스는 10MHz $\sim$ 1GHz의 대역폭을 갖는 것으로 알려져 있으며, 이러한 고주파 대역의 전자파 에너지의 효과적인 검출을 위한 센서 중 하나로 웨이브가이드 구조의 고주파 검출센서가 존재한다. 기존의 전자기적 에너지를 검출하는 SSC (Stator Slot Coupler)센서를 한쪽 포트를 가지는 마이크로스트립센서 형태로 사용할 경우 접지면이 도체전체로 씌워져 있고 임피던스 정합을 위한 50옴의 칩저항이 신호라인과 접지사이 루프를 형성하여 기기 운전시 기기의 성능에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 단점을 가지고 있다. 이 단점을 보완하기 위해서 본 논문에서는 회전기내 부분방전 펄스의 전자기적 에너지를 검출할 수 있는 2선 평행 전송선로 라인을 응용한 부분방전 검출 센서를 제안하였고 시뮬레이션을 통해 성능을 입증하였다. 제안된 센서의 성능을 입증하기 위하여 2선 평행 전송선로 타입의 센서와 기존의 SSC (Stator Slot Coupler) 센서를 약간 변형시킨 마이크로 스트립 센서를 고정자 슬롯의 Wedge 부착한 후 두 센서 비교 분석하였다. 결과적으로 제안된 센서는 기존 SSC 타입의 마이크로스트립 센서에 비하여 더 간단한 형상을 가지며 운전 중 기기의 성능에 영향을 덜 미치는 효과를 얻을 수 있었다.

  • 최근, 친환경 물질이면서 광유에 비하여 발화점이 높은 식물성절연유에 대한 관심이 고조되고 있으며 식물성절연유변압기의 사용이 미주 등 해외시장에서 급격하게 증가되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 송전급 식물성절연유변압기 개발을 위하여 액체절연 매질의 고전압 시험법을 검토하고 전극 간 이격 거리에 따른 절연파괴 시험을 통하여 식물성절연유의 절연성능을 평가하였다. Weibull 분포와 전계해석을 이용하여 2% 절연파괴전압을 산출하고 전계분포를 계산하여 기존의 변압기 절연매질인 광유와 비교하였다. 본 연구 결과는 향후 식물성 절연유변압기 제작에 필요한 설계 자료로 활용될 것이다.

  • The reinforced concrete becomes deteriorated. In strengthening of reinforced concrete structure, it is recently useing FRP. In research, flexural strengthening of reinforced concrete beam can be Efficient design. But shear srengthening og reinforced concrte beam can't be Efficient design by variable cause. The purpose of this study is to investigate the shear resisting effect of filling-up CFRP in reinforced concrete beams with web reinforced. Ten specimens were manufactured and tested. In the test result, it was analysis. The main variables in the test were a space of web reinforcement and a direction of CFRP.

  • EED consists of bridgewire, explosive charge, lead pins and metal case. If a firing signal is injected to EED, the explosive charge in EED is initiated by heating of bridgewire. Electromagnetic waves radiated from high power transmitters or radars can also cause unexpected firing of EED. Therefore, EMC design and test requirements for EED in military specifications are established and applied. This report describes the characteristics of RF sensitivity fur a firing fuse which is used fur EMC test instead of a real EED installed in aircraft. RF firing level of the fuse was predicted using transmission line(TL) theory. n sensitivity and RF sensitivity specified in military specifications were measured.

  • This study was performed to estimate the anchorage behavior for Bi Prestressed Concrete Girder(Bicon girder) which could introduce effectively prestressed forces into concrete girders. A bicon girder is manufactured by means of introducing pure bending moment that prestress simultaneously the compressive member(steel bar) and the tensile member(steel tendon). Therefore, the steel bar and the steel tendon must be unified in both ends and compressive and tensile force be offset. Anchorage dimension of 6 test specimens was designed under PTI specification which defined maximum stress and deformation to estimate structural behavior. Test results showed that the stress and the deformation of anchorage were within limits if the steel bar behaviored elastically.

  • An Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) is a small gas turbine engine that is mounted on an aircraft and serves to supply energy for ground and air starting of the main engine. APU also supplies emergency and auxiliary power for the aircraft. APU for aircraft is simple and compact in structure, but because it is mounted on manned aircraft, high reliability is required, so it must be proved its reliability through qualification procedure. The Korea Aerospace Research Institute and Hanwha Techwin successfully completed the design / analysis, fabrication, assembly, development test and certification test of APU for helicopter based on accumulated domestic R & D capability and experience from 2007 to 2012. In this paper, the development and certification process of auxiliary power unit for helicopter is summarized.

  • This paper aims to evaluate the effect of each material ingredient on mechanical and dynamic performance and to determine an optimal mixing condition of a rubber granule layer. To minimize the required number of tests, the test matrix was established by using the design of experiments (DOE). The tensile tests were then performed to identify the mechanical properties. Also, to evaluate the dynamic performance that the IAAF has required for athletics tracks for athletes' safety and balance, a series of impact tests were performed by using the so-called the "artificial athlete" machine. Finally, the response surface methodology was used to decide the optimal mixing conditions needed to achieve a high level of mechanical properties and dynamic performance.

Design of an Aircraft Composite Window frame Using VaRTM Process (수지 충전 공정을 이용한 항공기 윈도우 프레임 설계)

  • This is the preliminary study to develop composite window frame of commercial aircraft using VaRTM process. For two candidate carbon fabrics(triaxial overbraid, sleeving braider), specimens were fabricated using VaRTM process, and the physical & mechanical property tests were performed to obtain the material properties according to ASTM. FEM analysis for each candidate carbon fabric was performed to find the minimum number of plies and weight for composite window frame to satisfy the design requirements. In this study, Tsai-Wu strength failure criterion was used to evaluate the safety of structure.
