Effect of air inflow on the performance of a 50kW-class cross-flow turbine (50kW급 횡류수차 내 공기 유입이 성능에 미치는 영향)

  • Small hydropower has been considered as a solution to resolve the problem of exhaustion of fossil fuel and industrial pollution. In this study, we developed and tested a Cross-Flow Turbine with two guide vanes to optimize the small hydropower for the site condition with large fluctuation of head and flow rate. Furthermore, in the condition of constant inlet head, CFD analysis was carried out to analyze the effect of air suction and valve position on the performance characteristics. The results showed that the air suction can minimize the hydraulic loss caused by the Recirculation flow in the runner passage and flow impact on main shaft so that it can increase the turbine efficiency and output power.

  • We analyzed the rocket engine flow to check whether the possibility of the ground test and the equipment safety problems in the high altitude engine test facility. The test condition is that the vacuum chamber is open and the coolant water is injected into the supersonic diffuser. The analysis uses two-dimensional axisymmetry with a mixture of plume, air, and cooling water. As a result, the ground test was possible up to the cooling water flow rate of 200 kg/sec. However, due to the back flow of the initial plume, the vacuum chamber is exposed to high temperature, and at the same time, the inside of the vacuum chamber is contaminated due to the reverse flow of the cooling water. Therefore, sufficient insulation measures and work for pollution avoidance should be preceded.

  • 하천의 지형을 조사하고 계측하는 것은 하천을 연구하는 전문가들에게 필수적인 일이다. 하지만 하천의 지형을 계측하는 것은 쉽지 않으며, 조사를 하여도 유사의 이송으로 인하여 하천의 지형은 시간이 지남에 따라 변하게 된다. 그러므로 실험이나 모델링을 통하여 하천의 지형을 예측하고 모의하는 것은 중요한 연구이다. 모델링을 이용하여 유사이송에 의한 하상변동을 잘 예측하기 위해서는 하천의 복잡한 흐름을 정확히 모의하는 것이 중요하며 유사를 발생시키는 힘인 하상전단응력을 정확히 산정하는 것 또한 중요하다. 하상의 전단응력을 산정하는 방법으로는 대표적으로 로그법칙에 의한 방법, 레이놀즈응력 분포를 이용한 방법, 난류운동에너지를 이용한 방법 등이 있다. 앞서 말한 방법으로 산정된 전단응력 값은 차이를 보이며, 이는 하상변동을 정확히 모의하는 것에 문제를 발생시킬 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 곡선좌표계를 이용하여 3차원 유동 및 하상변동을 모의할 수 있는 수치모형을 이용하여 전단응력 산정 방법에 따른 하상변동량을 분석하는 것이다. 하천의 복잡한 흐름을 정확히 모의하기 위하여 본 연구에서는 RANS (Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes) 방정식을 3차원으로 해석하여 흐름 계산을 하였고 유사량 산정공식과 Exner 방정식을 이용하여 유사이송에 의한 하상변동을 계산하였다. 흐름 계산의 검증을 위하여 선행 연구의 실험을 대상으로 모의하였다. 그리고 곡선으로 된 실험 수로를 대상으로 전단응력 산

  • 전 세계적으로 여름철 국지성 집중호우 및 태풍으로 인한 피해가 빈번하게 발생하고 있으며, 산지가 많은 국내에서는 산지지역 뿐만 아니라 도심지에서의 토석류 피해 또한 급증하고 있다. 또한 2011년 7월 우면산 토석류, 춘천시 펜션 토석류 등 규모면에서 이전 보다 큰 토석류가 발생되고 있다. 이러한 토석류로 인한 피해를 줄이기 위해서는 토석류의 수치적 해석이 필요하며 현재 다양한 토석류 수치해석 모델을 이용하여 토석류를 분석하고 있다. 또한 토석류는 주로 강우로 인해 발생되기 때문에 토석류 해석을 위해선 강우-유출해석이 선행되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 청송 풍력단지를 조성하는 면봉산 일대를 대상지역으로 선정하였다. 토석류를 유발시키는 강우를 해석하기 위해 분포형 강우-유출모형인 S-RAT모형을 사용하였으며, 토석류 해석을 위해 토석류 2차원 수치해석모형인 RAMMS모형을 사용하였다. 두 모형의 커플링을 통해 토석류 확산범위 및 유동심, 속도, 충격력을 산정하였다. 이를 통해 유역내 토석류 발생시 동일규모의 사방시설을 토석류 흐름구간에 설치하여 위치에 따른 저감효과를 분석하여 사방시설의 적정위치에 대한 분석을 실시하였다.

  • 하천은 인간에게 용수의 이용 및 하천호안의 휴식처로써의 이용을 통해 직접적인 영향을 주고, 하천구조물의 심미적 영향, 랜드마크로써의 역할을 통해 간접적인 영향을 준다. 또한, 하천은 하천생태계에 서식하는 동 식물에게 영향을 준다. 그러나 하천유사로 인해 통수능이 감소하고, 하천구조물 주변에 침식을 야기할 뿐만 아니라, 댐과 저수지에 유사의 퇴적으로 저수용량의 감소시킨다. 그러므로 이를 예측하는 것은 경제적, 환경적으로 중요하다. 하상변동의 모의를 위해 기존의 2차원 모형은 만곡흐름에서 유동의 helical flow를 고려하지 않아 예측이 부정확하였다. 본 연구에서는 천수방정식을 이용한 하상변동 수치모의에 helical flow의 영향을 고려하였다. 하천과 같은 천수영역에서의 흐름 및 하상변동을 해석하기 위하여 수심평균 된 Navier-Stokes equations인 천수방정식을 이용하였다. 지배방정식은 곡선 좌표계에서 유한체적법으로 차분하였고, 비엇갈림격자를 사용하였다. 지배방정식의 닫힘 문제를 해결하기위해 0-방정식 난류모형을 사용하였고, "time marching" 기법의 적용을 위해 계산단계분할 방법을 이용하였다. 비엇갈림격자의 사용으로 인해 검사체적의 면에서의 유속이 필요하여 pressure-velocity coupling을 사용하여 유속의 진동을 줄였다. 또한, 만곡부의 helical flow를 모의하기위해 helical flow intensity model을 도입하였다. 앞에서 계산한 흐름을 바탕으로 유사량 산정공식과 Exner 방정식을 이용하여 하상변동을 모의하였다. 흐름의 검증, helical flow의 영향에 대한 확인, 하상변동의 적용을 위해 선행연구의 실험이 사용되었다.

Validation of Chimera Grid Method Applied to UMSAPv With Prediction of Carriage Load (장착하중 예측을 통한 UMSAPv에 적용된 중첩 격자 기법 검증)

  • In this paper, the carriage load analyses of stores installed on aircraft are conducted to validate the chimera grid method applied to an unstructured CFD solver, UMSAPv. First, the chimera grid method of UMSAPv is verified for the well-known Eglin Wing/Pylon/Finned store problem. Next, an angle of attack sweep of F/A-18C clean configuration is conducted at a subsonic speed. The computed results are compared with the results of the previous study using MSAPv, a structured CFD solver, to show the validity of Umsapv. Finally, the carriage of F/A-18C JDAM is carried out with a chimera grid as well as a single block grid. The computed results are compared with other computational, experimental and the flight tests.

  • According to the structure, solenoid valve can be categorized as spool valve or poppet valve. While various research on spool valve which has simple structure and fine susceptibility to contamination has been conducted, poppet valve which has less susceptibility to contamination and advantage in a long time operation still need much research because of its complicated structure. In order to design the poppet valve, various parameters such as the diameter of the poppet, the angle of the poppet, the diameter of the disk, the spring stiffness, the spring preload and flow path structure should be considered. Conventional studies on poppet valve usually take only one design parameters and did not much focused on the effect of the parameters on flow characteristics. In this paper, the change of the flow characteristics according to the design parameters of the poppet valve for 3/2Way solenoid valve is analyzed. The previous studies and the results of initial model analysis was referred for the selection of the design parameters. The effects of design parameters on maximum pressure, minimum pressure, and pressure drop was examined using analysis of means(ANOM).

  • As the rapid industrialization and modernization progress of the world it is becoming a fast-paced environment pollution. And, dust or environment pollution to solve reckless diggings of natural aggregate cause a serious problem. This study was used a Blast Furnace Slag and Combined Heat and Power Plant of Fly Ash as a cement substitute to reduce $CO_2$ emissions during cement production, this study intend to suggest it's result as basic data 'Properties of Artificial Stone interior or exterior materials type utilizing industrial by-product and waste resource' utilizing Waste Porcelain and Waste Glass. As a result, it was high strength that matrix added the Combined Heat and Power Plant of Fly Ash of addition ratio 40%. Also, pre-experiment was conduct as mixing ratio of waste glass, waste porcelain on the basis of the preceding experiment, proper mixing ratio was judged that proper of waste glass, waste porcelain was mixing ratio 60, 70 (%) of appeared surface aggregate ratio more than 45%.

Classification of Wind Corridor for Utilizing Heat Deficit of the Cold-Air Layer - A Case Study of the Daegu Metropolitan City - (냉각에너지를 활용한 바람길 구성요소 분류 - 대구광역시를 사례로 -)

  • Recently, the Korea Forest Service has implemented a planning project about wind corridor forests as a response measure to climate change. Based on this, research on wind corridors has been underway. For the creation of wind corridor forests, a preliminary evaluation of the wind corridor function is necessary. However, currently, there is no evaluation index to directly evaluate and spatially distinguish the types of wind corridors, and analysis is being performed based on indirect indicators. Therefore, this study proposed a method to evaluate and classify wind corridors by utilizing heat deficit analysis as an evaluation index for cold air generation. Heat deficit was analyzed using a cold air analysis model called Kaltluftabflussmodell_21 (KLAM_21). According to the results of the simulation analysis, the wind path was functionally classified. The top 5% were classified as cold-air generating Areas (CGA), and the bottom 5% as cold-air vulnerable Areas (CVA). In addition, the cold-air flowing Areas (CFA) were classified by identifying the flow of cold air moving from the cold air generation area. It is expected that the methodology of this study can be utilized as an evaluation method for the effectiveness of wind corridors. It is also anticipated to be used as an evaluation index to be presented in the selection of wind corridor forest sites.

A Study on Construction and Application of Nuclear Grade ESF ACS Simulator (원자력등급 ESF 공기정화계통 시뮬레이터 제작 및 활용에 관한 연구)

  • A nuclear plant ESF ACS simulator was designed, built, and verified to perform experiment related to ESF ACS of nuclear power plants. The dimension of 3D CAD model was based on drawings of the main control room(MCR) of Yonggwang units 5 and 6. The CFD analysis was performed based on the measurement of the actual flow rate of ESF ACS. The air flowing in ACS was assumed to have $30^{\circ}C$ and uniform flow. The flow rate across the HEPA filter was estimated to be 1.83 m/s based on the MCR ACS flow rate of 12,986 CFM and HEPA filter area of 9 filters having effective area of $610{\times}610mm^2$ each. When MCR ACS was modeled, air flow blocking filter frames were considered for better simulation of the real ACS. In CFD analysis, the air flow rate in the lower part of the active carbon adsorber was simulated separately at higher than 7 m/s to reflect the measured value of 8 m/s. Through the CFD analyses of the ACSes of fuel building emergency ventilation system, emergency core cooling system equipment room ventilation cleanup system, it was confirmed that all three EFS ACSes can be simulated by controlling the flow rate of the simulator. After the CFD analysis, the simulator was built in nuclear grade and its reliability was verified through air flow distribution tests before it was used in main tests. The verification result showed that distribution of the internal flow was uniform except near the filter frames when medium filter was installed. The simulator was used in the tests to confirm the revised contents in Reg. Guide 1.52 (Rev. 3).
