A Token Based Clustering Algorithm Considering Uniform Density Cluster in Wireless Sensor Networks (무선 센서 네트워크에서 균등한 클러스터 밀도를 고려한 토큰 기반의 클러스터링 알고리즘)

  • In wireless sensor networks, energy is the most important consideration because the lifetime of the sensor node is limited by battery. The clustering is the one of methods used to manage network energy consumption efficiently and LEACH(Low-Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy) is one of the most famous clustering algorithms. LEACH utilizes randomized rotation of cluster-head to evenly distribute the energy load among the sensor nodes in the network. The random selection method of cluster-head does not guarantee the number of cluster-heads produced in each round to be equal to expected optimal value. And, the cluster head in a high-density cluster has an overload condition. In this paper, we proposed both a token based cluster-head selection algorithm for guarantee the number of cluster-heads and a cluster selection algorithm for uniform-density cluster. Through simulation, it is shown that the proposed algorithm improve the network lifetime about 9.3% better than LEACH.

A Dynamic Clustering Mechanism Considering Energy Efficiency in the Wireless Sensor Network (무선 센서 네트워크에서 에너지 효율성을 고려한 동적 클러스터링 기법)

  • In the cluster mechanism of the wireless sensor network, the network lifetime is affected by how cluster heads are selected. One of the representative clustering mechanisms, the low-energy adaptive clustering hierarchy (LEACH), selects cluster heads periodically, resulting in high energy consumption in cluster reconstruction. On the other hand, the adaptive clustering algorithm via waiting timer (ACAWT) proposes a non-periodic re-clustering mechanism that reconstructs clusters if the remaining energy level of a cluster head reaches a given threshold. In this paper, we propose a re-clustering mechanism that uses multiple remaining node energy levels and does re-clustering when the remaining energy level of a cluster head reaches one level lower. Also, in determining cluster heads, both of the number of neighbor nodes and the remaining energy level are considered so that cluster heads can be more evenly placed. From the simulations based on the Qualnet simulator, we validate that our proposed mechanism outperforms ACAWT in terms of the network lifetime.

A Unified Gradient Shape on the Slice-Selection Axis for Flow Compensation (스핀에코 펄스 시퀀스의 슬라이스 선택방향에서 혈류 보상을 위한 통일 경사자장법 연구)

  • Spin echo gradient moment nulling pulse sequences were designed and implemented on a clinical magnetic resonance imaging system. A new technique was introduced for flow compensation that minimized echo time and effectively suppresses unwanted echoes on the slice selection gradient axis in spin echo sequences. A unified gradient shape was used in all orders of flow compensation up to the third order. A dual-purpose gradient was applied for flow compensation and to reduce unwanted artifacts. The sequences were used to generate images of phantoms and/or human brains. This technique was especially good at reducing eddy currents and artifacts related to imperfection of the refocusing pulse. The developed sequences were found to have shorter echo times and better flow compensation in through-plane flow than those of the previous models that were used by other investigators.

A Study on Describing Uninterrupted Traffic Flows using Macroscopic Models (연속교통류 재현을 위한 거시적 모형의 비교 연구)

  • The objective of this study is to evaluate the performance of macroscopic traffic flow models with the analytical and field data. Five candidate models were selected as follows ; Lax Method Model, Upwind Scheme Model, Hilliges'Model, Papageorgiou's Model, and Cell-Transmission Model. In the analytical test scenario, the traffic condition was assumed that could cause the building and dissipation of queue, and each model was compared with analytical solutions and the numerical results. An analytical test indicated that both simple continuum and high order continuum models are able to reproduce queue building and dissipating behavior in a reasonable way A field test has shown that Upwind and Papageorgiou's model show similar performances. Considering the simplicity in model formulation and numerical computation, we firstly recommend Upwind scheme model , and secondly Papageorgiou's model that performed will to represent traffic flow in tests as candidate models for further development of simulation model for Naebu expressway in Seoul.

  • This study develops an agent-based simulation model to evaluate tourist information systems under ubiquitous environment. In this study, individual tourist's activity chaining behavior is formulated as a utility maximization problem. The underlying assumption of the model is that tourists increase their activities within their time and budget constraints to maximize their utilities. The model seeks individual's optimal tour schedule by solving Prize-Collecting Multiple-Day Traveling Salesman Problem(PC MD TSP). The simulation-based evaluation framework allows investigating individual utility gains by their information type and the total expenditure at each tour attractions. The real-time tour activity scheduling system enables tourists to optimize their tour activities by minimizing their time loss and maximizing their opportunity to use high utility facilities.

  • With the Development of Wireless Network Technology and Wireless Link Technology, Wireless Mesh Network (WMN) is Attracting Attention as a Key Technology to Construct the Wireless Transit Network. The WMN has been Studied for a Long Time in Various Fields, however there are still many Problems that have not been solved yet. One of them is the Routing Problem to find an Optimal path in a Multi-hop Network Composed of Wireless Links. In the Hybrid-WMN, which is one of the Three Types of WMN, Optimal Path Selection Requires Research on Path Search Protocols that Effectively use the Infrastructure Mesh as a Transit Network, Together with Research for a Routing Metric with Excellent Performance. Therefore, this Paper Proposes a Dual Mode-AODV(Ad hoc On-demand Distance Vector) for Hybrid-WMN. Simulation result shows that the Path Selection Delay was Reduced by 52% than AODV when the Proposed Dual Mode-AODV was applied.

An Efficient Shared Loaming Scheme for Layered Video Streaming over Application Layer Multicast (응용 계층 멀티캐스트에서 계층형 비디오 스트리밍의 안정성 향상을 위한 효율적인 공유 학습 기법)

  • Layered video multicast such as RLM Receiver-driven layered multicast) is a premising technique for delivering streaming video to a set of heterogeneous receivers over ALM(Application Layer Multicast) as well as over IP multicast. However, this approach may suffer from unnecessary fluctuation of video quality due to overlapped and failed join-experiments. Though a shared teaming scheme was introduced to resolve these problems, it may cause high control overhead and slow convergence problem when used with ALM. In this paper, we propose a new shared learning scheme for ALM-based layered video multicast which reduces control overhead and convergence latency while keeping the number of fluctuation reasonably small. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme performs better than an ALM-based layered video multicast with shared learning in terms of control overhead and convergence latency.

Characteristics of the Rollover Critical Speed of a Trailer Equipped with a Tilting System (틸팅 시스템을 장착한 트레일러의 전복임계속도 특성)

  • Rollover is a major concern for vehicles with a higher center of gravity and for improving driving performance. This study investigates a tilting system to prevent rollover, which was successfully implemented for high-speed trains. It may be useful to apply the concept of the tilting system to a large truck such as a trailer. Even a small adjustment in the tilting angle can improve the driving stability during a steep turn. The equation of motion was derived from a dynamic model of the trailer with the tilting system. The balance of the centrifugal force and normal force determines the rollover critical speed for a given radius of the turn and load. To obtain a more conservative criterion, the rollover critical state was defined as the instant when any side wheel loses contact with the road. To actuate the tilting system, the optimal tilting angle must be calculated from the steering angle and the vehicle speed. Using a simplified model of a large truck, the effects of the tilting angle and load on the rollover critical speed were investigated.

  • In this paper, by comparatively analyzing horn type speaker and line array type speaker developed based on line sound source theory and point sound source theory, we research whether theory is adaptable or not in real. Academically, point sound source is attenuated as much as 6dB in accordance with double distance and line sound source is attenuated as much as 3dB in accordance with double distance. Line array speaker system developed based on line sound source is analyzed by theory of line sound source about occurring small sound pressure attenuation and it is propose of research that array composition of right speaker is selected in accordance with use purpose and environment. For this purpose, we analyze theory of point sound source and line sound source. we analyze parameter value by simulating designed horn type speaker and line array speaker based on theory.

A Cross-Layer Based Per-Application Mobility Management Platform (Cross-layer 기반 응용 별 이동성 관리를 위한 플랫폼)

  • An inevitable trend in the next generation wireless network environments is coexistence of different wireless access networks in a complementary, manner. In addition, mobile devices equipped with multiple air interfaces simultaneously executing diverse applications have been emerging, In such network environment, It is required that a solution for mobile users to seamlessly roam between different access networks as well as to satisfy QoS requirements of each application by efficiently utilizing coexisting various wireless access networks. In this paper, therefore, we propose a mobility management platform based on per-application end-to-end mobility management and cross-layer handover controls. Four core functional modules composing the proposed platform for end user devices are defined: Monitoring Agents, Profile Database, Decision Engine, and IP Agent. We show through simulations that the presented platform provides an improved QoS as it selectively utilizes the best available networks.
