Optimization of Stowage Plans for Car Carrier Ships (카캐리어선 화물 선적 계획 최적화)

  • 카캐리어선에 화물을 선적하기 위해서는 각 화물의 선적 순서와 위치를 결정해야 하며, 이를 선적 계획이라 한다. 선적 계획은 선박의 무게 중심과 공간 손실률, 화물 재취급(re-handling) 횟수를 최소화하도록 수립된다. 최적의 선적 계획을 수립하기 위해서는 여러 후보 선적 계획들을 평가하여 적합도(fitness)가 가장 높은 것을 탐색하여야 한다. 하지만 화물 종류의 수와 도착지의 수가 증가할수록 후보 선적 계획의 수가 증가하게 되어, 탐색 시간과 계산 비용이 커지는 문제가 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 탐색 공간이 매우 큰 환경에서 최적의 선적 계획을 효율적으로 탐색하기 위해 유전 알고리즘(genetic algorithm)을 사용한다. 또한, 선박의 무게 중심과 공간 손실률, 화물 재취급 횟수로 목적 함수(objective function)를 구성하여 최적 선적 계획을 탐색한다. 실험 결과, 휴리스틱(heuristic) 방식보다 공간 손실률과 재취급 횟수가 향상되었으며, 특히 재취급 횟수는 70% 감소하였다.

  • Among domestic car carrier operating shipping companies, some shipping companies are operating a stowage planning system that is installed and executed on a computer, and most shipping companies are executing stowage plans with documents such as Excel. This is a study on how to utilize web service technology so that multiple users can use the planning system more efficiently in the cargo stowage planning process for car carriers.

A Dynamic Optimization for Automotive Vehicle Shipment and Delivery (자동차 선적 및 납기를 위한 동적 최적화)

  • The automotive industry has made much efforts to deliver finished vehicles to customers with speed and reliability. Decreasing the time a vehicle stays within an assembly plant from production release to shipment contributes to reduce the total order lead-time and consequently, the total transportation cost as well. Conventional shipment planning algorithms are limited in accommodating the dynamics of assembly plant operations as to finished vehicle shipment. This paper presents a market-based multi-agent shipment planning algorithm to optimize the performance of vehicle shipment process, capturing the operationally disruptive events. Experimental results using simulation show that the algorithm improves vehicle shipment performance with respect to lead time, labor efficiency, finished product quality, and transportation efficiency.

  • Special logistics, such as steel coils or steel plates, are being shipped and deployed depending on experienced personnel. Therefore, there is a great possibility of accidents due to immaturity by human error or lack of experience. There is a need to prevent the possibility of such an accident in advance, to apply security requirements required for special logistics, to ensure the stability of cargo, and to operate an management system to check the correct loading list. In addition, accurate shipping inspection is necessary to balance the ship. This paper analyzes the problems of shipping inspection currently being implemented and proposes a web-based port special logistics shipping inspection and balancing operation system to improve it.

  • In container terminal ship load planning for efficient loading is made before the ships arrive, But sometimes real loading state of the ship is different from planned loading state. And the planning is not available. So ship load planning must be adjusted in realtime. In this study we organize the situations said before. And we present realtime ship load planning method The method is suitable for the situations, rational, and immediately able to use.

  • Stowage planning is an essential process for safe loading by establishing, agreeing on, and systematically implementing a reasonable loading and securing method based on information on cargo, loading/unloading and the ship. In addition, depending on the plan, there may be a difference of about 14% or more in the loading amount per ship, which causes a tolerance rate and leads to an increase in sea freight charges. In this study, work environment and process standards for steel coil shipment, and classification regulations and guidelines related to steel coil shipment were analyzed. In addition, we developed a steel coil loading and placement automation system that derives an optimal loading plan through performance data-based shipping balancing and stability analysis.

But after the ship arrives sometimes real loading state of the ship is different from planned loading state. Or sometimes the plan is not available. Hence ship loading plan must be adjusted immediately and that algorithm must be studied. In this study we organize the situations said before. And we present realtime ship loading plan method. The method is suitable for the situations, rational, and immediately able to use.

최적 화물 선적을 위한 화주 에이전트 기반의 협상방법론

  • 화주의 선박 선정과정은 선박과 화물의 일정에 따른 1차 선정과 화물을 재선적하여 하나의 단위로 선복을 집중시키는 2차 선정으로 구분된다. 지금까지 3자물류업체는 이러한 선적업무가 수작업으로 진행됨으로써 비효율성을 초래하였다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 에이전트 협상을 통해 전체 물류비를 감소시킬 수 있는 방안을 제안하고자 한다. 화물의 집중과 배분을 통해 얻을 수 있는 물류비 절감을 최대화 시키기 위해 재고비와 운임비간의 상관관계에서 최적점을 찾아야 하며 이를 화주간 협상으로 해결할 수 있다. 실험에서는 현업에서 이루어지는 화물 선적방법인 EPDS(Earliest Possible Departure-Date Scheduling)와 LPDS(Latest Possible Departure-Date Scheduling)에 본 협상방법론을 접목하여 SBF(Scheduling Bundle Factor, 선적동시처리량)에 따른 재고비, 운임비 그리고 물류비 등을 도출하고 실험결과를 분석 하였다, 분석결과, 협상방법론이 EPDS와 사용될 경우 전체 물류비를 최소화 시킬 수 있었다.

  • Domestic car ferries do not operate a dedicated information system for cargo loading and management, It is impossible to arrange according to the cargo type and quantity at the time of cargo reservation due to restrictions such as the need to comply with the cargo layout drawings in advance approved by the Korean Register. For this reason, this is a study to utilize similar information systems in operation in container ships and terminals for the purpose of improving cargo shipment management tasks for car ferries.
