스포츠 통계와 관련된 주제들은 경기결과의 설명 예측력 분석, 선수와 팀 평가, 경기내용의 요약, 경기의 환경적 요인 평가, 경기 규칙 분석, 경기결과의 시각적 표현, 토너먼트 구조 연구 등의 영역으로 다양하다. 이 글에서는 야구 축구 농구 테니스 종목을 중심으로 통계적 방법을 적용하여 스포츠 현장의 문제를 어떻게 접근하고 있는지를 개괄하였다. 전통적으로 스포츠 통계는 선수와 팀 그리고 전략의 평가가 주를 이루었지만, 오늘날 스포츠통계는 경기의 잠재적, 외적 요인 등의 주제로 관심영역을 넓혀가고 있다. 그러나 국내에서는 경기내용의 기술적(descriptive) 분석이 주류를 이루고 있으며, 전문적 수준의 통계적 접근은 활발하지 못하고 있다. 현장과 자료의 특성을 고려하여 통계와 스포츠(체육)분야의 다양한 협동연구가 필요하다.

At the time the interest and love of the Korean professional baseball is increasing, the need for effective recruiting method rising. Recruiting existing methods were scheme based on expert evaluation, to obtain the players of each team. However, the existing method does not reflect only objective rating but also subjective way of school tie and delays are effect. Therefore the conventional method could not be the efficient. Therefore this paper analyze Korea baseball player's efficiency based on entire team and each team by using DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) method, and use this efficiency to discuss effective way of recruiting players. Finally, the validity of experiment is confirmed by the matters of actual sell of players who are scouted by experiment.

Social network analysis is the social statistical analysis of any social structure involving a stream of mutual information between observations. In this study we used the results of passes between players in a soccer game. The analysis contents are as follows. (1) Players with important or leading roles are identified. (2) Players are assessed by pass frequency and the success rate of passes. The purpose of this study is for use as basic data for future team strategy, and achieves this by evaluating the role of each individual player within a team. In this study, social network analysis without separating positions is conducted, and is also performed for defensive and attacking positions respectively. The results of this study are as follows: First, when complete team data were available, the players performing leadership roles were Jung-woo Kim, Sung-yeung Ki and Chung-young Lee, whereas Jeong-su Lee acted as a sub-leader. In case of data for defensive positions Jeong-su Lee was a leading player, and in terms of attacking positions, all of the players excelled in the game and could be evaluated as playing lead roles.

스포츠팀 운영에 있어서 경기 중 상황에 대한 통계와 분석을 통해 좋은 성과를 내는 것은 스포츠 야구 종목의 Sabermetrics를 통해 이미 증명된 바가 있다. 한편, 축구에서는 최근 들어 선수의 역량을 평가하기 위하여 객관적인 시각에서 슈터(Shooter)에게 주어진 기회, 즉 슈팅 상황을 바라보는 기대 득점(Expected Goal; 이하 xG)이라는 지표가 등장하였으나, 객관성이라는 평가 의도와 다르게 경기 내 각각의 슈팅 상황을 정의하는 것에 있어 축구 분석관들의 주관성에 의존하는 한계성을 지녔다. 본 논문은 xG를 산출하는 방식에 있어서 기존의 주관성을 배제하고 인공지능을 통해 상황을 정의하여 객관적인 평가지표를 지향하며 유의미한 통계적 수치를 지닌 xG를 도출함으로써 결과 위주의 분석만이 존재하던 축구 종목에 있어서 경기 중 상황에 대한 객관적인 판단 및 정의에 대한 방향성을 제시한다. 또한, 본 논문에서의 인공지능은 국내 K리그 슈팅 데이터를 통해 학습되어 K리그 내 전략적인 상황들에 대한 특화된 xG를 도출하며, 이를 웹을 통해 K리그 내 선수 개개인에 대해서 시계열, 상대 팀, 슈팅 위치별 그래프로 시각화하여 제공하는 시스템을 구축함으로써 K리그를 기준으로 선수에 대한 평가 및 경기 운영에 기여할 수 있는 기대 득점 분석 서비스를 제공한다.

The purpose of this study is to establish evaluation model that can explain marginal effects of baseball players of Korean Baseball Organization (KBO) on their team winnings in terms of productivity. We proposed econometric model with using variables that are provided from official homepage of KBO to overcome the complexity of mainly used productivity index: wins above replacement (WAR). Also, compare to the previous studies such as Scully(1974) or Krautmann(1999) that using limited indices of baseball stats, this study included 61 indices that are provided from official homepage of KBO. We estimated regression based WAR(RBWAR) by conducting panel regression with each team's statistics data of 2002 to 2014. As a results, RBWAR shows 0.869 correlation coefficient for batters and 0.882 for pitchers with WAR in 2014 that can be concluded that two indices shows similar results. From the results of estimation, we analyze the relationship between productivity and actual contract of free agent players in 2015 and it showed that teams have contracted reasonably.

This research is to comprehensively evaluate offensive abilities of baseball players who are expected to produce as many runs as possible by their hitting and running. To this end, we establish a simulation program to obtain the so-called scoring index of an individual player. The scoring index of a player is defined as an expected number of runs scored by an imaginary team that is composed of nine copies of the player. As a simulation input, we use 2014 season data of Korean pro-baseball. As a result, we present the scoring indices of top 10 players, 9 Korean pro-baseball teams, and overall 2014 season. The scoring index can serve as a comprehensive evaluation of offensive ability of a player or a team, selection of players for a (national) team or for a starting line-up, estimation of player's worth, and so on.

Objectives : The purpose of this study was investigating the differences in temperament, personality, and cognitive function among athletes and non-athletes, as well as differences within athlete groups participating in different-paced sports like baseball and basketball. Methods : A total of 57 professional basketball players, 51 professional baseball players, and 44 non-athletes subjected to temperament and characteristics inventory assessments and computerized neurocognitive function test. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was employed to analyze the average differences in demographic characteristics, temperament, personality traits, and cognitive functions among the three groups, followed by Bonferroni post hoc tests. Comparisons between starters and non-starters within the athlete groups were conducted using the Mann-Whitney U test. Results : In the analysis of temperament, the basketball and baseball player groups exhibited higher reward dependence and persistence compared to the control group. Additionally, in the assessment of personality traits, both basketball and baseball player groups scored higher in self-directedness and cooperativeness compared to the control group, whereas self-transcendence scores were lower. In cognitive ability assessments, baseball and basketball players outperformed the control group in emotional perception tests. Both baseball and basketball players showed lower card movement counts compared to the control group. Conclusions : This study compared the differences in temperament, personality, and cognitive abilities between professional basketball and baseball players and non-athletes. These results provide valuable insights into the temperament, personality, and cognitive abilities of professional athletes, contributing important information for athlete development and coaching goals in the future.

The purpose of this paper is to identify whether the national baseball squad made up of the best players may get the outstanding results in the international competitions or not. Using Data Envelopment Analysis, the relative efficiency of players in Korean Baseball Organization is estimated as performance measure, and compared with the efficiency scores of national squad members. The paper focuses on the proper choice of DEA model in a baseball setting, thereby selecting the BCC model with non-discretionary variable. Two input variables(plate appearances and stolen bases to enforce) and three output variables(runs, on-base plus slugging and stolen base percentage) are used to evaluate the efficiency of the baseball players. Results showed that 22 players among 97 players were classified as efficient and 8 players among 12 national squad members were as efficient. These findings indicate a potential for DEA to be a major part of the analytical approaches in evaluating the relative efficiency of players.

This study aimed to identify the model fit of various versions of Performance Enhancement Attitude Scale (PEAS) developed for measuring quantitatively the attitude toward doping and to provide the information on Korean version of PEAS. One hundred and eighty elite athletic players participated in this study and they filled out 17 items PEAS under the supervision. And 17 items, 11 items, 9 items, 8 items and 6 items PEAS were analyzed by using confirmatory factor analysis. The result of this study showed that an 8 items PEAS was fit for Korean elite athletic players, and a 6 items PEAS was for adolescents, but insignificant. Therefore, further studies of the relationship between psychosocial factors and attitudes toward doping by using 8-items PEAS would provide precise and useful information for developing anti-doping strategy.
