A Study on the Development of Educational Modules for Aids to Navigation Using the Aid to Navigation Simulator (항로표지 시뮬레이션 시스템을 활용한 항로표지 교육모듈 개발에 관한 연구)

  • Aid to Navigation (AtoN) is the artificial facilities to facilitate the ship's safe navigation using light, shape, color, sound, and radio waves. IALA has developed and operated the educational course for expert groups for the design, deployment, and management of AtoN. Also, maritime educational institutes have operated various educational courses for safe navigation through the ship's operation and ECDIS curriculum for seafarers. However, education using the AtoN Simulator System is needed to prevent marine accidents caused by misunderstanding of the AtoN according to various topographical, environmental, and maritime traffic environments. In this study, the existing ship handling simulator and AtoN simulator were applied to develop educational modules for accurate understanding and application of AtoN in various environments, enhancing the quality of education from the existing theoretical point of view and improving practical use to maximize educational efforts.

  • The strengthened regulations for atmospheric emissions from ships have caused a necessity of new, alternative power system in ships for the low pollutant emissions and the high energy efficiency. Recently, new kinds of propulsion power system such as fuel cell system, which use hydrogen as an energy source, have been sincerely considered. The purpose of this work is to predict the performance of methanol fueled SOFC system and to analyze the influence of operating temperature, current density, S/C, and $H_2$ utilization ratio.

  • In order to study to apply the fuel cell, the study about the power system design and the load control is needed. However, to experiment the fuel cell need the auxiliary device and the complex control technology. For this reason the simulator is needed and such study is in progress actively. In this paper, the PEMFC (Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell) that is applied the vehicle, the small sized ship was simulated based on LabVIEW. The characteristic of fuel cell simulator was implemented based on a simulation data using the programmable power supply. The I-V characteristic according to various factors and the polarization curve of fuel cell were analysed.

선박용 디젤엔진 SCR 시스템의 효율향상을 위한 점성유동해석

  • 선택적 환원 촉매(SCR : Selective Catalytic Reduction) 시스템은 대기오염을 예방하기 위한 배기가스 처리장치 중 하나이다. 본 연구에서는 전산유체역학(CFD : Computational Fluid Dynamics)를 사용하여 SCR 시스템 의 효율향상을 위하여 ANSYS-CFX package를 이용하여 점성 유동 해석을 수행하였다. SCR 시스템의 점성 유동 흐름의 전산 유체 역학을 이용하여 시뮬레이션하기 위하여 Navier-Stokes 방정식을 지배방정식으로 사용하였다. CATIA V5를 사용하여 SCR 시스템의 형상을 3D 모델링을 하였고, 암모니아와 배기가스의 혼합 비율을 확인하기 위해 요소수 분사 노즐의 위치를 변경하였다. 요소수 분사 노즐은 배기관의 입구로부터 1/3, 1/2, 2/3에 위치한다. 또한, 분사 노즐의 위치가 배기관 입구의 1/3에 위치할 때 노즐의 분사구수에 따른 효율을 확인하기 위하여 분사구수를 4Hole, 6Hole, 8Hole일 경우를 확인하여 비교하였다. 시뮬레이션의 결과로는 배기관 입구에 가까울수록, 분사구수가 많을수록 효율이 좋아짐을 확인하였다.

  • With the increasing risk in building liquefied natural gas carriers (LNGC), pre-simulation of various scenarios is required for system integration and safe operation. In particular, the power management system (PMS) is an important part of the LNGC; it works in tight integration with the power control systems to achieve the desired performance and safety. To verify and improve unpredicted errors, we implemented a simulation model of power generation and consumption for testing PMS based on software-in-the-loop (SIL) method. To control and verify the PMS, numeric and physical simulation modeling was undertaken utilizing MATLAB/Simulink. In addition, the simulation model was verified with a load sharing test scenario for a sea trial. This simulation allows shipbuilders to participate in new value-added markets such as commissioning, installation, operation, and maintenance.

  • The electrification of the waste heat of stack is necessary to enhance the efficiency of fuel cell system. For this purpose, the hybrid SOFC/GT/ST system is suitable. The purpose of this work is to predict the performance of methane fueled SOFC/GT/ST hybrid power system and to analyze the influence of operating temperature of stack, current density of stack, and gas turbine pressure ratio. According to the analysis, it is proved that the SOFC/GT/ST hybrid system suppress the rapid decrease in efficiency and lead to the significant improvement of efficiency as compared with SOFC system.

  • 우리나라 항만 입출항 통항 선박의 대형화, 고속화에 따른 해양안전사고가 증가하고 있어 항만 연안 해역에서의 해상교통 안전 확보가 절실히 요구되고 있는 실정으로, 최근 국제항로표지협회(IALA)에서 항로표지 설계와 배치계획에 대한 의사결정을 지원할 수 있는 항로표지 전문 기능 시뮬레이터의 개발과 주요 항로의 항로표지 설계 및 계획 등을 검증할 수 있는 시스템 필요성을 제기하였다. 우리나라 주요 항로의 항로표지 설계와 적정 배치 여부 등을 검증하고 보완할 수 있는 시뮬레이션 시스템이 필요하며 3차원 가상현실 기법을 이용하여 항로표지의 신설 및 이설에 따른 여러 가지 효과를 직관적으로 파악하고 대상 해역의 특성이 고려된 다양한 해상교통환경 변화에 따른 항로표지의 신설 및 이설 효과를 선박 운항자 관점에서 검증하거나, 새로운 항만 항로 건설시 최적 항로표지 배치에 대한 의사결정을 지원하기 위한 항로표지용 시뮬레이터 시스템 개발이 진행되고 있다. 이러한 항로표지 시뮬레이터 개발에 필요한 항로표지 관련 속성에 대하여 기술하였다.

  • 다상 BLDC 모니터는 높은 효율, 단위 전류당 높은 토크 밀도 및 비교적 쉬운 제어 특성으로 인해 동일 크기, 동일 무게에서 더 높은 출력을 요구하는 대형 트랙션 또는 선박 추진 응용 분야에서 점점 더 많이 사용되고 있다. 선박 등의 대용량 추진 시스템은 안정적인 운전 성능을 위해 모터의 일부 상 고장의 경우에도 시스템의 안정적인 동작이 중요한 이슈가 되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 모터의 한 상에서 고장이 발생한 경우 BLDC 모터의 정상인 상 전류의 위상각을 제어하여 토크 리플을 저감하는 제어 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 토크 리플에 큰 영향을 미치는 출력 토크의 2차 고조파 성분의 합이 영이 되도록 정상인 상 전류의 위상각을 제어하여 가능한 범위 내에서 최대 출력 토크를 얻음과 동시에 토크 리플 성분을 최소화한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 방법은 12상 BLDC 모터의 HILs 시뮬레이션을 통해 검증하였다.

Performance Analysis of GT/ST Hybrid System for Marine Power Applications(under Conditions of Air-Cooled Gas Turbine) (가스터빈의 냉각공기를 고려한 선박동력용 GT/ST 하이브리드시스템의 성능 평가)

  • A future type ship power system requires both economic and eco-friendliness. That is, this should be reduced the discharge quantity of air pollutants and green-house gases as well as have high energy efficiency. Recently, gas turbines have been realized a lot of technical development in terms of efficiency and safety, and are widening the example of their adoption to a GT/ST hybrid system in a power plant as well as an aviation use. This paper reviewed the performance characteristics of a GT/ST hybrid system of several ten MW class, not large capacity, with a simulation in order to evaluate the possibility of a GT/ST hybrid system for ships. The reviewed GT/ST hybrid system has maximum 49 % efficiency, has the highest efficiency point for TIT, and has a 70~75 % and 25~30 % load ratio for a gas turbine and a steam turbine respectively.

  • Marine accidents of 70.9% have been caused by small ships less than 100 tons in the past 5 years(1998${\sim}$2002). This is ascribable to the graying and lack in expertise on shipping of small ship operators, and merchant ships are hindered from coastal navigation due to the increase of coastal fishing boats and liners. Currently, ECDIS and GPS Plotters are widely used as navigation equipment providing route information to operators, but it can not give any function of automatic route creation and route explanation, so they are available only experienced operators. Especially, the present situation is that no study is made of the automatic route creation and route explanation using ENC for ECDIS, substitution system of paper chart. In this paper, Navigation Guiding System(NGS) is proposed to generate an optimal route where ENC and GPS data is fusioned including the wind speed and direction of anemometer. The proposed system was testified by a simulation, and its effectiveness was verified.
