The three-storied stone pagoda located in Seungansaji temple site consists mainly of medium to fine-grained biotite granite and granitic gneiss, and partly macrocrystalline gneiss, muscovite gneiss and gabbro. The surface of the stone pagoda is extensively colonized by lichen and moss due to surrounding trees and lawns, and severly deteriorated. Therefore, a comprehensive deterioration diagnosis has been carried out and conservation treatment was conducted in this study. For the conservation treatment, dry cleaning is performed throughout all the surface of the pagoda for naturally grown lichen and biological contaminants using a soft brush and wooden knife. Crustose lichen strongly adhere to the surface was removed by wet cleaning using distilled water. Also, protective railings were reinstalled to an appropriate height with taking the distance from the stone pagoda into account. Finally, the ground around the stone pagoda was repaired with clay sand, and dike was installed with a natural gradient to facilitate water drainage.
The stone stupas of the Mireuk Temple Site and Jeongnim Temple Site were the beginning of Korean stone stupa and the unique ones stemming from the Baeje period. Therefore, the work of investigating the characteristics of these two stone stupas would give us a basis for understanding Korean stone stupas in a large scale and Baekje-style stone stupas in a narrow sense. As shown in some records, the excellent architectural skills of Baekje could be known by the fact that Abiji was invited to the building of Hwangryong Wooden stupa, one of the national undertakings of Shilla and the skills and styles related to stone stupas were thought to be disseminated in this process. However, it has not been very convincing that the stone stupas with Baekje styles were disconnected in an instant with the unification of Shilla, in terms that culture and art would inherited and developed. The current academic circle set a frame and defined all these types of stone stupas as Baekje-system stone stupas built in Goryeo period and put them in a uniformly chronological order. The popularization of Buddhism, support of regionally powerful clans and cultural revival were suggested as the factors of their appearance, but it seemed difficult to be assured that these led Baeje-style stone stupas to reappear in a moment by breaking the gap of about 300 years. Of course, it has not been active in Gyeongju area, but they have greatly influenced the stone stupas of Shilla; therefore, it would be possible to consider that they were developed but limited to certain areas. This study focused on the starting point of such development and investigated the formation of Baeje-style stone stupas through the stone stupas of the Mireuk Temple Site and Jeongnim Temple Site and their subsequent development through Wanggung-ri Stone Stupa.
The stone pagodas include small internal spaces such as holes of Buddha's bones generally and the space's positions and sizes can make an influence on the maintenance of the stone pagoda. Also, inclined angles of the stone pagodas are an important factor to be considered to preserve them. In this paper, the Junghyesaji thirteen-storied stone pagoda subjected to its weight was analyzed through the finite element method to investigate the weakest location of the pagoda and study how size variation of internal spaces and slope variation influenced the weakest location. And criterions were proposed to examine the safety of the stone pagoda along the size variation of the internal spaces and the slope variation in view of the deflections and the stresses to examine fractures of the pagoda.
The Chungung-dong 5-storied pagoda (Treasure No. 12) in the nnm, Korea was studied on the basis of petrological weathering and deterioration diagnosis. Frontal part of the pagoda is looked out on the N30$^{\circ}$W. Constitution rocks of this pagoda show augen gneiss and biotite granite. Host rock of the pagoda was highly exfoliation and discoloration, therefore most rock-forming minerals were altered to the clay minerals due to the mineralogical and chemical weathering. Open cavity and rock surface occur partly green and black patchs because of contamination by algae, lichen and moss, and the lower part of the pagoda is transition to the some weeds. This biological problems are need for cleaning and chemical treatments. For the structural stability, the pagoda is rebuilt without open gap between the each rock materials. All iron plates eliminate from the difference gap of the rock materials, and properly conservation treatments need to be repaired petro-filler for stone cultural properties and water curtain for the humidity attenuation of the ground.
The Suljeongri east three-story stone pagoda in Changnyeong (National Treasure No. 34) has been damaged mainly by lots of cracks. The stones used for this pagoda are medium-granied equigranular pinkish biotite granite. Measured magnetic susceptibility values are of from 2 to 9 (${\times}10^{-3}$ SI unit). From the ${\gamma}$-ray spectrometer mesurement K, eU, and eTh contents of the stones are 3 to 7%, 8 to 19 ppm, and 11 to 35 ppm, respectively. Comparing the petrographical and chemical characteristics between the stones of the pagoda and the country rocks near Suljeongri, it is suggested that the most similar rock could be equigranular biotite granite in the western slope of the Mt. Hwawangsan. Vertical, horizontal and diagonal cracks are intensely developed at the lower part of the stone pagoda. Biotite granite has intrinsic microcracks defined as rift and grain rock cleavages. Both rock cleavages are assumed to have led to the crack growth and consequent mechanical damage of the pagoda. It seems that vertical cracks have been grown parallel to the principal compressional stress, and that horizontal cracks to the reacting tensional stress. Diagonal cracks seems likely to have been resulted from conjugate rift and grain rock cleavages.

This paper studied the 3D modeling process for the restoration of the 'Three-story Stone Pagoda of Bulguksa Temple in Gyeongju', a stone pagoda from the Unified Silla Period, using artificial intelligence (AI). Existing 3D modeling methods generate numerous verts and faces, which takes a considerable amount of time for AI learning. Accordingly, a method of performing more efficient 3D modeling by lowering the number of verts and faces is required. To this end, in this study, the structure of the stone pagoda was deeply analyzed and a modeling method optimized for AI learning was studied. In addition, it is meaningful to propose a new 3D modeling methodology for the restoration of stone pagodas in Korea and to secure a data set necessary for artificial intelligence learning.

This research was a technical case study for the authentic restoration of the seven-storied Simgoksa stone pagoda after disassembly and reconstruction using three-dimensional image analysis. During disassembly and reconstruction, the pagoda's properties were analyzed in terms of the overall modification and displacement of the pagoda. Distortion was minimized by ensuring structural stability during the reconstruction process. Also, the original site of the pagoda was examined in order to utilize it fully during rebuilding. Before reconstruction of the pagoda, moss and lichen on the stone surfaces were removed by scientific surface cleaning. The foundation of the pagoda was reinforced with rammed earth than was similar to the original foundation using a mixture of soil and quicklime. The results are expected to provide valuable data for the reconstruction of other stone pagodas.
The west stone pagoda of Gameunssji temple site (National Treasure No. 112) has been damaged mainly by fracture, exfoliation and granular disintegration. In this study, the source area of the rocks using the west stone pagoda was examined in terms of petrological feature, magnetic susceptibility, and ${\gamma}-ray$ spectrometer. The stones include abundant crystal fragments of biotite, quartz and feldspars in the fine-grained matrix; they are petrographically discriminated to vitric-crystal tuff or crystal tuff. Measured magnetic susceptibility values are of from 10 to 20 $({\times}10^{-3}\;SI\;unit)$. From the ${\gamma}-ray$ spectrometer measurement K, eU, and eTh contents of the stones are about 3%, 0 to 8ppm, and 9 to 18 ppm, respectively. These features are used as indicators to presume the source area of the stones. Comparing the petrographical and chemical characteristics between the stones of the west stone pagoda and the country rocks near the Gameunsaji temple site, it is suggested that the most similar country rock to the stones could be dacitic volcanic rocks of the Beomgokri group in the Waeup basin. The Beomgokri group is lithostratigraphically divided into Waeupri tuff, Yongdongri tuff and Beomgokri volcanic rocks. Among the three rocks, the crystal tuff of the Beomgokri volcanic rocks seems likely to have been the source rock of the stones of the west stone pagoda.
All rock materials of the three storied stone pagoda in Seoakri were composed of light gray alkali granite with medium grained and developed with small mialolitic cavities. This stone pagoda is preserving almost archetype except the head part because there was repair work already. But, foundation, basement and roof rocks are serious state by microbial invasion such as lichens. Because there are tree and grass that cause direct effect to stone pagoda surrounding. Therefore, conservation treatment executed the primary dry cleaning and secondary wet cleaning treatment. Stone surface is partly not removed well such as lichens which part removed using cleansing device that use high temperature steam. Some treated part concrete and epoxy resin remove and retreatment with mixing talc and alkali granite powder to epoxy resin. Did color matching at mixing process of epoxy resin and fillers to properties with set the feel of a material. Also, drainage ditched to minimize inflow of rainwater fall from slope that is on the east of stone pagoda, tree and grass in stone pagoda surrounding wished to do remove and control occurrence of lichens hereafter minimizing moisture conteats.

In this study, the stone used for three storied pagoda of Bulguksa Temple, which is easy to access due to works for dismantle and restore will be analyzed on the basis of petrographic study, magnetic susceptibility, and ${\gamma}$-ray spectrometer, and identify petrographic characteristics. Also we will select candidate areas of fresh rock to change the stone used for three storied stone pagoda as from its provenance is presumed. According to the results of visual inspection, the stones used for the three storied stone pagoda are similar to the features of Namsan granite, which is distributed around Gyeongju-si, and when it comes to the section of the stupa finial, the features of all the parts from the stupa finial is similar to Namsan granite except for the section of Jeweled cover. On the other hand, the color, the composition, and the mineral size of the stones in the section from the part of jeweled cover are similar to Tohamsan granite. As a result of none-destruction inspection, it seems that the stones used for the three stories stone pagoda except for the section of jeweled cover are similar to the values for the magnetic susceptibility and the ${\gamma}$-ray spectrometer. On the other hand, Jeweled cover and the values of Tohamsan granite are alike. Namsan granite is appropriate in case that the stone used for three storied stone pagoda must be replaced to fresh rock because of damage by weathering. Meanwhile, Namsan granite is seperated from Yangsan fault. Due to this fact, Namsan granite appears to not only Mt. Namsan in Gyeongju, but also Dongcheon-dong, Gyeongju, and Huenggok-ri, Pohang. As a result, these two areas are suitable to the candidate area to change the stone used for three storied stone pagoda.
