LPCVD로 형성된 실리콘 나노점의 전계방출 특성 (Electron Field Emission Characteristics of Silicon Nanodots Formed by the LPCVD Technique)

  • We fabricated the silicon nanodots using the low pressure chemical vapor deposition technique to investigate their electron field emission characteristics. Atomic force microscope measurements performed for the silicon nanodot samples having various process parameters, such as, deposition time and deposition pressure, revealed that the silicon nanodots with an average size of 20 nm, height of 5 nm, and density of $1.3\;{\times}\;10^{11}\;cm^{-2}$ were easily formed. Electron field emission measurements were performed with the silicon nanodot layer as the cathode electrode. The current-voltage curves revealed that the threshold electric field was as low as $8.3\;V/{\mu}m$ and the field enhancement factor reached as large as 698, which is compatible with the silicon cathode tips fabricated by other techniques. These electron field emission results point to the possibility of using a silicon-based light source for display devices.

  • Silicon oxide thin films were deposited by using a plasma-enhanced chemical-vapor deposition technique to investigate the light emission properties. The photoluminescence characteristics were divided into two categories along the relative ratio of the flow rates of $SiH_4$ and $N_2O$ source gases, which show light emission in the broad/visible range and a light emission peak at 380 nm. We attribute the broad/visible light emission and the light emission peak to the quantum confinement effect of nanocrystalline silicon and the Si=O defects, respectively. Changes in the photoluminescence spectra were observed after the post-annealing processes. The photoluminescence spectra of the broad light emission in the visible range shifted to the long wavelength and were saturated above an annealing temperature of $900^{\circ}C$ or after 1 hour annealing at $970^{\circ}C$. However, the position of the light emission peak at 380 nm did not change at all after the post-annealing processes. The light emission intensities at 380 nm initially increased, and decreased at annealing temperatures above $700^{\circ}C$ or after 1 hour annealing at $700^{\circ}C$. The photoluminescence behaviors after the annealing processes can be explained bythe size change of the nanocrystalline silicon and the density change of Si=O defect in the films, respectively. These results support the possibility of using a silicon-based light source for Si-optoelectronic integrated circuits and/or display devices.

S-BRT 운행행태를 고려한 저상버스의 정차시간 예측모형 (A Estimation of Dwell Time of Low-floor Buses considering S-BRT Operation Behavior)

  • This basic study introduces the concept of S-BRT and develops dwell time estimation models that consider road geometry and S-BRT characteristics for a signal operation strategy to meet the S-BRT's operational goal of high speed and punctuality. Field surveys of low-floor buses similar in shape to S-BRTs and data collection of passengers, station elements, vehicle elements, and other factors that can affect stop times were used in a regression analysis to establish statistically significant dwell time estimation models. These dwell time estimation models are developed by categorizing according to the locations of the signal or sidewalk that have the most impact on the dwell time. In this way, the number of people boarding and alighting the bus at the crowded door and the number of people boarding and alighting the bus at the front door considering the internal congestion was analyzed to affect the dwell time. The estimation dwell time models in this study can be used in the establishment of strategies that provide priority signals to S-BRTs.

정수장 운영에 영향을 미치는 기후변화 요인 분석 (Effect of Climate Change Characteristics on Operation of Water Purification Plant)

  • Climate change has a broad impact on the entire water environment, and this impact is growing. Climate adaptation in water supply systems often involves quantity and quality control, but there has been a lack of research examining the impacts of climatic factors on water supply productivity and operation conditions. Therefore, the present study focused on, first, building a database of climatic factors and water purification operating conditions, and then identifying the correlations between factors to reveal their impacts. News big data was analyzed with keywords of climatic factors and water supply systems in either nationwide or region-wide analyses. Metropolitan area exhibited more issues with cold waves whereas there were more issues with drought in the Southern Chungcheong area. A survey was conducted to seek experts' opinions on the climatic impacts leading to these effects. Pre-chlorination due to drought, high-turbidity of intake water due to rainfall, an increase of toxins in intake water due to heat waves, and low water temperature due to cold waves were expected. Pearson correlation analysis was conducted based on meteorological data and the operating data of a water purification plant. Heavy rain resulted in 13 days of high turbidity, and the subsequent low turbidity conditions required 3 days of high coagulant dosage. This insight is expected to help inform the design of operation manuals for waterworks in response to climate change.

  • In this study, we analyzed how the revenue water ratio(RWR) is affected by changes in conditions of the water supply area, such as the ratio of aging pipes, maintenance conditions, and revenue water. As a result of analyzing the impact of pipe aging and maintenance conditions on the RWR, it was confirmed that the RWR could be decreased if the pipe replacement project to improve the aging pipe ratio was not carried out and proper maintenance costs were not secured. It was also confirmed that an increase in the revenue water could be operated to facilitate the achievement of the project's target RWR. In contrast, a decrease in the revenue water due to a population reduction could affect the failure of the target RWR. In addition to analyzing the causes of variation in the RWR, the calculation of estimated project costs was considered by using leakage reduction instead of RWR from recent RWR improvement project cost data. From this analysis, it was reviewed whether the project costs planned to achieve the target RWR of the RWR improvement project in A city were appropriate. In conclusion, the RWR could be affected by variations in the ratio of aging pipes, maintenance conditions, and revenue water, and it was reasonable to consider not only the construction input but also the input related to RWR improvement, such as leakage reduction, when calculating the project cost.

  • Studying the long-range ordering of nanopores on the anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) membranes under a hard anodization (HA) approach is crucial in producing well-aligned nanopores on the AAO membranes. Electro-polishing in a mixture of ethanol and perchloric acid for 5 min removed marks formed by rolling and produced flat surfaces on aluminum substrates. The AAO was formed by the first HA process, providing seeds for the subsequent production of uniform AAO nanopores. The second HA process carried out on the seeds produced well-aligned, uniform AAO nanopores. The AAO nanopores, varying in size and shape, were observed with voltages applied for HA. This study provides a route for controlling the size and shape of AAO nanopores by changing the applied voltages.

루테늄이 첨가된 텅스텐 산화물을 이용한 마이크로 가스 센서의 암모니아 가스 감지 특성 (Gas Sensing Characteristics of Ru doped-WO3 Micro Gas Sensors)

  • In this study, micro gas sensors for ammonia gas were prepared by adopting MEMS technology and using a sol-gel process. Three types of sensors were prepared via different synthesis routes starting with W sol and Ru sol mixture. This mixture was deposited on a MEMS platform and the platform was subsegueny heated to a temperature of $350^{\circ}C$. The topography and crystal structure of the sensing film were studied using FE-SEM and XRD. The response of the gas sensor to $NH_3$ gas was examined at various operating temperatures and gas concentrations. The sensor response increased almost linearly with gas concentration and the best sensing response was obtained at $333^{\circ}C$ for 5.0 ppm $NH_3$ for the specimen prepared by coating $WO_3$ powders with the Ru sol mixture.

AWS 강우자료를 이용한 면적확률강우량 산정에 관한 연구 (A Study on Estimation of Areal Rainfall Quantiles using AWS Rainfall Data)

  • 수공구조물의 설계 시 확률강우량의 산정은 매우 중요하다. 따라서 확률강우량 산정을 위한 강우지점의 선정 및 산정방법의 표준화는 매우 중요하다고 할 수 있다. 현재 확률강우량 산정시 대부분은 기상청의 지상기상관측지점과 국토교통부의 산하 지점의 시 단위 또는 일 단위의 강우자료를 활용하여 확률강우량을 산정하고 있다. 또한 면적확률강우량의 산정시에는 원칙적으로 해당 유역내 외에 다수의 관측소 존재 시 Thiessen 가중평균을 이용하여 동시간 임의시간 연최대치 면적강우량자료 계열을 작성하고 빈도해석을 실시해야하지만, 동시간 강우량자료의 수집의 어려움으로 지점 확률강우량을 산정하고 Thiessen 가중평균을 적용 후, 면적우량환산계수를 곱하는 방법을 사용하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 서울의 도림천 유역을 중심으로 기상청의 지상기상관측지점(SSS, Surface Synoptic Stations)과 품질관리를 실시한 방재기상관측지점(AWS, Automatic Weather Stations)의 분 단위 강우자료를 활용하여 강우관측지점 선정과 자료기간에 따른 동시간의 면적확률강우량을산정하고 비교분석하였다. 이는 향후 면적확률강우량 산정방안의 개선 및 보완에 큰 도움이 될 것으로 판단된다.

적정 하수관망 간소화 산정을 위한 도시지역 2차원 침수분석 (2D Inundation Analysis of Urban Basin for Estimatng Optimal Scale of Simplification of Sewer Network)

  • 홍수예 경보를 통해 도시하천에서 발생되는 내수침수피해를 예방하기 위해서는 공간데이터를 활용한 침수위험지역을 분석하는 것이 필요하다. 특히 강우 유출 모형을 사용하여 수문분석을 진행할 때에는 정확도와 신뢰도 높은 모형을 구축하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 그러나 대부분의 도시유역에서는 관망의 개수가 많고 구축된 SWMM 관망의 매개변수 추정을 위한 반복적인 계산으로 분석 런타임이 길어져 연구에 많은 어려움이 나타난다. 게다가 연구자의 주관에 따라 간소화된 하수관망의 유출분석 결과가 상이하게 나타나는 등 하수관망 간소화 분석에 대한 체계적인 연구가 부족하다. 본 연구에서는 이를 보완하기 위하여 상대적으로 도시화가 많이 진행된 서울시의 하천유역 중에서 상습침수로 많은 주목을 받고 있는 도림천 유역의 관망에 대해 누가유역면적을 바탕으로 관망의 간소화를 진행하였다. 이를 통해 관망 간소화에 따른 영향을 분석하고, 간소화별 case를 3가지로 나누어 분석하였다. 뿐만 아니라 누가유역면적에 따른 간소화 별 case를 Tuflow를 사용하여 2차원 분석을 진행하여 간소화에 따른 침수량 차이를 나타내어 최적의 간소화 방안을 제시하였다. 이는 보다 신속하고 신뢰도 높은 모형 구축에 크게 기여될 것으로 판단된다.
