Methods to Enhance Service Scalability Using Service Replication and Migration (서비스 복제 및 이주를 이용한 서비스 확장성 향상 기법)

  • Service-oriented computing, the effective paradigm for developing service applications by using reusable services, becomes popular. In service-oriented computing, service consumer has no responsibility for managing services, just invokes services what service providers are producing. On the other hand, service providers should manage any resources and data for service consumers can use the service anytime and anywhere. However, it is hard service providers manage the quality of the services because an unspecified number of service consumers. Therefore, service scalability for providing services with higher quality of services specified in a service level agreement becomes a potential problem in service-oriented computing. There have been many researches for scalability in network, database, and distributed computing area. But a research about a definition of service scalability and metrics of measuring service scalability is still not mature in service engineering area. In this paper, we construct a service network which connects multiple service nodes, and integrate all the resources to manage it. And we also present a service scalability framework for managing service scalability by using a mechanism of service migration or replication. In section 3, we, firstly, present the structure of the scalability management framework and basic functionalities. In section 4, we propose scalability enhancement mechanism which is needed to release functionality of the framework. In section 5, we design and implement the framework by using proposed mechanism. In section 6, we demonstrate the result of our case study which dynamically manages services in multi-nodes environment by applying our framework. Through the case study, we show the applicability of our scalability management framework and mechanism.

Influence of Sociocultural Services on Brand Image and Loyalty of Cafe (카페의 브랜드 이미지와 충성도에 대한 사회문화성서비스 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to find out how to improve the brand image and loyalty of cafe by recognizing that social culture of middle school cafe, which is an important service quality in cafe establishment, emerges as a main characteristic of new coffee business. First, reliability, confidentness, professionalism, accessibility, and socio - culturality of the service quality of coffee specialty shops improve brand image. Confidence and professionalism play an important role in enhancing brand loyalty, and brand image has a significant effect on brand loyalty. Respectively, Among the service quality, social culture has a strong influence on brand image but it is not a direct influence on brand loyalty. Second, in the relationship between brand loyalty of coffee service quality, brand image shows full mediation effect on reliability, partial mediation effect on confidence, professionalism, accessibility, socialcultural property, and mediation effect on response and empathy. Third, as a result of analyzing the moderating effects of coffee shop types on the relationship between service quality and brand image of coffee specialty shops, reliability, confidentiality, and accessibility are positive factors in the nationwide franchise. On the other hand, in the private $caf{\acute{e}}$, professionalism and socio-culturality are the main factors for improving the brand image. In the case of the local franchise, similar to the franchise in the country, the improvement of service quality for responsiveness and professionalism is a positive factor Respectively. As a result, nationwide franchise $caf{\acute{e}}s$ have priority in enhancing brand image and brand loyalty through accessibility and assurance of service quality. On the other hand, in case of local franchise $caf{\acute{e}}$, it can be seen that the service quality is enhanced and the brand image and brand loyalty can be further improved through service professionalism and accessibility. On the other hand, regional cafes are more important than national franchises or local franchise cafes, and a strategy to enhance customer loyalty is needed through service strategies emphasizing socio - cultural aspects.

Adaptive Rate Control Scheme based on Cross-layer for Improving the Quality of Streaming Services in the Wireless Networks (무선 네트워크에서 스트리밍 서비스의 품질향상을 위한 Cross-layer 기반 적응적 전송률 조절 기법)

  • TFRC(TCP-Friendly Rate Control) has a performance degradation in wireless networks because it performs congestion control by judging all the losses occurred in wireless networks as a congestion indicator. It is also degraded by the increased Round Trip Time(RTT) due to packet retransmission and contention overhead in the link layer. In this paper, we propose an adaptive rate control scheme based on cross-layer to improve the quality of streaming services in the wireless networks. It provides new RTT estimation and loss discrimination methods to improve transmission rate of TFRC. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme can improve the performance of TFRC.

  • 기존선 속도향상, 안전성 확보, 수송서비스 개선을 목표로 하는 철도기술연구개발사업은 고객에게 고품질의 서비스를 제공하고 타 교통시스템과의 경쟁력을 확보하기 위하여 주관행정부처인 철도청과 전문기관인 한국철도기술연구원에서 추진하고 있다. 이 사업은 1999년 12월 철도기술연구개발사업기본 계획을 수립하여 2001년 8월 한국철도기술연구원을 사업자로 선정하고 총 450억의 정부지원예산을 투입하여 2004년까지 4차년도에 걸쳐 기존선 속도향상을 위한 실용화 기술개발, 철도유지보수시스템개발, 고속 철도운영시스템개발을 목표로 하고 있다.   • 한국통신이 개발하여 현재 700-3000번으로 서비스되고 있는 음성 인식 증권정보시스템을 소개하고, 음성인식 성능을 향상시키기 위한 한국통신의 연구현황을 기술하고자 한다. 현재 운용중에 있는 서비스 시스템은 120명이 동시에 사용할 수 있는 시스템이며 S/W 와 H/W를 분리시켜 S/W의 버전을 갱신하더라고 H/W의 변경이 최소화 되도록 설계되었다. 현재 고려하고 있는 성능 향상 방법은 연속음성 인식 기술을 이용하여 고립단어 인식을 시도하는 것과 거절기능 구현 및 tied-state에 의한 문맥종속 음소를 구하는 것이다. 또한 연속 HMM 모델 방식으로의 변경도 연구중에 있다.

  • 1984년 폰노이만이 최초로 메로리에 저장된 프로그램을 이용하는 현대식 컴퓨터인 IBM SSEC를 발명한 이후, 거의 50여 년 동안 소프트웨어를 만드는 기술은 끊임없이 변화해 왔다. 최근 대두되고 있는 MDD/MDA 기술은 모델 및 코드 간의 자동변환을 통한 소프트웨어 개발생산성을 향상 시키기 위한 기술이다. 본 논문에서는 CBD 방법론으로 수행된 SI 프로젝트에서 MDD/MDA 기술 적용으로 인한 생산성 향상 효과를 기능점수 (Function Point) 관점에서 분석하여 제시한다. 또한 본 사례의 프로젝트에서 적용한 MDD/MDA적용 방법을 소개한다.

An Analysis of Perceptual Differences between Shippers and Operators for Service Quality of Frozen and Refrigerated Warehouses (냉동·냉장창고 서비스품질 향상을 위한 화주사 및 운영사의 인식차이 분석에 관한 연구)

  • The factors for service quality improvement of frozen and refrigerated warehouses are derived and the differences in perception about service quality improvement between shippers and operators of frozen and refrigerated cargos are analyzed. The objective of this study is to propose quality improvement measures for frozen and refrigerated cargo services using the importance-performance analysis (IPA). As a result, 15 analysis factors were derived. It was found through independent sample t-test that there is no difference in perception about quality improvement between shippers and operators. Furthermore, four top priority investment areas were derived from the IPA: maintaining temperature and humidity, securing variable storage space, on-time stocking and releasing, and providing information service. Meanwhile, inventory management service ability, on-time stocking and releasing, and reliable cargo storage ability needed urgent improvement. This study has industrial implications in that it proposes practical improvement measures for service quality improvement.

Efficient Service Discovery Scheme based on Clustering for Ubiquitous Computing Environments (유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경에서 클러스터링 기반 효율적인 서비스 디스커버리 기법)

  • In ubiquitous computing environments, service discovery to search for an available service is an important issue. In this paper, we propose an efficient service discovery scheme that is combined a node id-based clustering service discovery scheme and a P2P caching-based information spreading scheme. To search quickly a service, proposed scheme store key information in neighbor's local cache and search services using it's information. We do not use a central look up server and do not rely on flooding. Through simulation, we show that the proposed scheme improves the performance of response time and network load compared to other methods.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate service quality of university library using structural equation modeling. The case study was selected from the library of a local university. The result of the study shows that the factors that effected a lot on service quality of university library are information control, a location of library and a degree of service influence. In conclusion of the results, university libraries should put an effort on strengthening the service quality.

  • In this paper, we propose an effective Noraebang service algorithm using multicasting technology. The goal of this proposed Noraebang service is to reduce the load of server as well as network resources and to enhance the performance of MOD. The effective Noraebang service algorithm proposes the new method that stores the post-ordered reserve songs in client's buffer in the order of request, not through the network and server, after the completion of the service pre-ordered requested song. The number of channel required in Noraebang service which used this algorithm can be decreased greatly when many songs re reserved, and the post-ordered songs can be serviced at real time by using buffer. The simulation results of this algorithm are confirmed that the performance of the proposed effective Noraebang service system increased significantly.
