A Study on Communication Safety and Evaluation Tool in Railway Communication System (열차제어시스템 통신 안정성 및 평가 도구 연구)

  • Put Safety-critical systems related to the railway communications are currently undergoing changes. Mechanical and electro-mechanical devices are being replaced by programmable electronics that are often controlled remotely via communication networks. Therefore designers and operators now not only have to contend with component failures and user errors, but also with the possibility that malicious entities are seeking to disrupt the services provided by theirs systems. Recognizing the safety-critical nature of the types of communications required in rail control operations, the communications infrastructure will be required to meet a number of safety requirements such as system faults, user errors and the robustness in the presence of malicious attackers who are willing to take determined action to interfere in the correct operation of a system. This paper discusses the safety strategies employed in the railway communications and proposes a security mechanism for Korean railway communication system. We present the developed communication safety evaluation tool based on the proposed security mechanism and also evaluate its protecting capability against the threats of masquerading, eavesdropping, and unauthorized message manipulation.

Innovation Milieu and Cluster Formation of Cultural Industries in Gyeongbuk (경북 문화산업의 혁신환경과 클러스터 구축방향)

  • Strategies for regional development has been implemented by facilitating the cultural industry since the mid 1990s. The government of Gyeongbuk attempted to establish the cluster of cultural industries and to enhance the capability of cultural industries. However, infrastructure of the industries is still weak. The most cultural industries are small-sized enterprises and are in low value-added production link in the value chain. This research examines the situation of cultural industries and then to recommend the direction of cluster of cultural industries in Gyeongbuk. The cluster of cultural industries in Gyeongbuk needs to be decentralized integration. Cultural industries in Gyeongbuk are found in dispersed regions with own cultural and industrial characteristics. The hub of cluster of cultural industries should be formulated to promote network among cultural industrial complexes in dispersed regions; thus, the hub is able to provide knowledge and information for the cultural industrial firms in Gyeongbuk. The supporting center as the hub of cluster has to input more energy to establish the on-line and off-line network among firms, and between firms and innovation agencies such as universities, cultural industrial organizations, and local governments. The cultural industrial cluster should be linked with IT cluster in Gumi and cluster of Daegu cultural industries to upgrade the value chain of cultural industries.

  • The purpose of this study is to find methods for utilizing digital room in public library and its efficient operation by analyzing the status quo of the digital rooms in public libraries, which had been built nation-widely about 5 years ago. It is found that it is urgent to supplement and improve the infrastructure of them. It is also required to build multi-functional digital rooms and an integrated operational system for digital rooms. Implementation of an integrated operational system, first of all, for applicable sections of digital room may be the best alternative. The multi-functional digital rooms can be built, which, in addition to its traditional function, can include a variety of original information resources and function of information creation using application programs, as well as functions such as education, information services, online/offline community creation, and activating information sharing. In the future, the digital rooms in public libraries must play a significant role as online/offline spaces, which are not the places for use and access to internet information resource, but for information/knowledge sharing and collaborative activities. It also must provide a communication channel between librarians and users as well as among users themselves.

Logistics Cost Analysis on Electronic Commerce(EC) by Delivery Type (전자상거래에서의 상품운송 유형에 따른 물류비 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze logistics cost of transportation systems on EC(electronic commerce) between company and consumer. Transportation system in logistics is classified by three types on EC. The first type is the direct delivery from supply factory to consumers(type I). The second type is the delivery through distribution center in each area by owner logistics company (type II). The third type is the commission of delivery to the third party logistics company(type III). The logistics of EC has various service characteristics such as dealing with small quantity, various goods, and high frequency. This study assumes that all day's order is delivered on a next day. The logistics cost function is calculated according to the number of orders, delivery distance, transport quantify. and allocated freight trucks for daily order of the subject zone. The logistics cost changes according to the daily order characteristics. Therefore it is simulated to analyze the logistics cost change that considers the type of transportation's order characteristics. As a result of analysis, if the number of order is less than 10 and the quantify of each order is less than 10kg, type III has an advantage over the others And if the number of order is more than 10 and the quantity of each order is more than 10kg, type I has an advantage in the same zone and type II has an advantage in the other zones. This study is limited on the actual application because this study doesn't consider logistics infra of supply company and transport service time. If further study that considers these factors is implemented, it can estimate more accurate logistics cost on EC and propose an efficient freight transport alternatives to the company. This study attributes to estimate the logistics cost change over the frequency of daily order, the quantify of supply goods, and the transport distance on EC.

Evaluation Scheme for EcoMobility Policy Based on Multi-criteria Decision Making, AHP and ANP (AHP와 ANP 중심의 다기준 의사결정 기반 생태교통정책 평가체계에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, policy evaluation scheme was established to encourage the efficient implementation of EcoMobility which has been expanding gradually all around the world. A total of eight evaluation goals and 22 evaluation items are reviewed and suggested based on the three major evaluation categories of "Basic elements for EcoMobility", "Land use and transport system for EcoMobility", and "Implications and impact of EcoMobility". The results of this study are as follows: the result of AHP analysis which reflects only the hierarchical structure shows a high priority in "Elements for EcoMobility promotion", "Eco-fiendly transport infrastructure", and "Safety in transport". While in result of ANP which considered the elements' dependencies, "Eco-fiendly transport Services", "Welfare in transport", and "Environment by transport" have high weights and importances. In conclusion, this study would be useful to make reasonable judgment based on the analysis results of the two techniques in order to ensure reliability in evaluation of EcoMobility policy. Furthermore we have confirmed appropriate evaluation technique between AHP and ANP which is better to reflect the features of EcoMobility.

Strategies for Improving the Collection and Use of Research Data in the Humanities (인문학 분야 연구데이터의 수집 및 활용성 증진을 위한 전략 연구 - 기초학문자료센터를 중심으로 -)

  • The rapid growth of information technologies and data networks has increased the volume of data generated from scholarly research and the possibilities of re-using and sharing such data. However, there is a serious problem of management and sharing of research data due to the lack of facilitating policies and supporting infrastructure. In particular, few data repositories exist that support systematic collection and sharing of research data in the humanities. In this regard, the Korea Research Memory (KRM) established by the Korea Research Foundation is a rare exception. The purpose of this research is to present specific processes and strategies that can facilitate the data collection, reuse and preservation through the KRM using task analysis and source document gathering as main focal points. In addition, in order for the effective collection and sharing of research data, the following recommendations are proposed: 1) the need for the adoption of data management plan related policies that govern the collection and sharing of research data generated from publicly funded research projects, 2) the need for training and support services for individual researchers and research institutes, 3) the need for training data specialists, and 4) the citation scheme and structure designed for research data.

Clustering based Routing Algorithm for Efficient Emergency Messages Transmission in VANET (차량 통신 네트워크에서 효율적인 긴급 메시지 전파를 위한 클러스터링 기반의 라우팅 알고리즘)

  • Vehicle Ad hoc Network (VANET) is next-generation network technology to provide various services using V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) and V2I (Vehicle-to-Infrastructure). In VANET, many researchers proposed various studies for the safety of drivers. In particular, using the emergency message to increase the efficiency of traffic safety have been actively studied. In order to efficiently transmit to moving vehicle, to send a quick message to as many nodes is very important via broadcasting belong to communication range of vehicle nodes. However, existing studies have suggested a message for transmission to the communication node through indiscriminate broadcasting and broadcast storm problems, thereby decreasing the overall performance has caused the problem. In addition, theses problems has decreasing performance of overall network in various form of road and high density of vehicle node as urban area. Therefore, this paper proposed Clustering based Routing Algorithm (CBRA) to efficiently transmit emergency message in high density of vehicle as urban area. The CBRA managed moving vehicle via clustering when vehicle transmit emergency messages. In addition, we resolve linkage problem between vehicles according to various form of road. The CBRA resolve link brokage problem according to various form of road as urban using clustering. In addition, we resolve broadcasting storm problem and improving efficacy using selection flooding method. simulation results using ns-2 revealed that the proposed CBRA performs much better than the existing routing protocols.

Performance Verification of WAVE Communication Technology for Railway Application (차량용 무선통신기술(WAVE)의 철도 적용을 위한 성능검증)

  • Wireless Access in Vehicular Environments (WAVE) communication technology, which provides vehicleto-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication and offers safe and convenient service, has been developed for application to an Intelligent Transport System (ITS). This paper provides field test results on a study of the feasibility of WAVE technology application to railway communication systems. A test railway communication system based on WAVE technology has been built along the Daebul line and a newly developed EMU. Field tests have been carried out according to the communication function requirements for LTE - R. The test results show that the railway communication system based on WAVE technology meets the functional requirements: maximum transmission length is 730m, maximum transfer delay is 5.69ms, and maximum interruption time is 1.36s; other tests including throughput test, video data transmission test, VoIP data test, and channel switching test also produced results that meets the functional requirements. These results suggest that WAVE technology can be applied to the railway communication system, enabling Vehicle-to-Wayside communication.

  • Due to the increase in renewable energy and distributed resources, not only traditional data but also various energy-related data are being generated in the new energy industry. In other words, there are various renewable energy facilities and power generation data, system operation data, metering and rate-related data, as well as weather and energy efficiency data necessary for new services and analysis. Energy big data processing technology can systematically analyze and diagnose data generated in the first half of the power production and consumption infrastructure, including distributed resources, systems, and AMI. Through this, it will be a technology that supports the creation of new businesses in convergence between the ICT industry and the energy industry. To this end, research on the data analysis system, such as itemized characteristic analysis of the collected data, correlation sampling, categorization of each feature, and element definition, is needed. In addition, research on data purification technology for data loss and abnormal state processing should be conducted. In addition, it is necessary to develop and structure NIFI, Spark, and HDFS systems so that energy data can be stored and managed in real time. In this study, the overall energy data processing technology and system for various power transactions as described above were proposed.

  • Cloud computing markets are rapidly growing as cost savings and business innovation are being carried out through ICT worldwide. In line with this paradigm, the nation is striving to introduce cloud computing in various areas, including the public sector and defense sector, through various research. In the defense sector, DIDC was established in 2015 by integrating military, naval, air and military computing centers, and it provides cloud services in the form of IaaS to some systems in the center. In DIDC and various future cloud defense systems, It is an important issue to ensure availability in cloud defense systems in the defense sector because system failures such as network delays and system resource failures are directly linked to the results of battlefields. However, ensuring the highest levels of availability for all systems in the defense cloud can be inefficient, and the efficiency that can be gained from deploying a cloud system can be reduced. In this paper, we classify and define the level of availability of defense cloud systems step by step, and propose the strategy of introducing Erasure coding and failure acceptance systems, and disaster recovery system technology according to each level of availability acquisition.
