A Study on the mathematical notation of expression in terms of skipping the parenthesis (괄호 생략 관점에서 식의 표기에 관한 고찰)

  • This study investigated the mathematical notation used today in terms of skip ping the parenthesis. At first we have studied the elementary and secondary curriculum content related to omitted rules. As a result, it is difficult to find explicit evidence to answer that question 'What is the calculation of the $48{\div}2(9+3)$?'. In order to inquire the notation fundamentally, we checked the characteristics on prefix, infix and postfix, and looked into the advantages and disadvantages on infix. At the same time we illuminated the development of mathematical notation from the point of view of skipping the parenthesis. From this investigation, we could check that this interpretation was smooth in the point of view that skipping the parentheses are the image of the function. Through this we proposed some teaching methods including 'teaching mathematical notation based on historic genetic principle', 'reproduction of efforts to overcome the disadvantages of infix and understand the context to choose infix', 'finding the omitted parentheses to identify the fundamental formula' and 'specifying the viewpoint that skipping the multiplication notation can be considered as an image of the function'.

  • This proper presents the characteristics and their schemes for omission of lighting arresters on one-phase and over-head ground wire in the power distribution line. The case studies for Japan were investigated and compared with the cases of Korea. Especially, the EMTP simulation was performed for the omission scheme of lightning arrester's middle phase and the simulation results were described on the feasible problems when omitted. In this paper, it could be concluded that the omission of ground wire may be possible in some cases for the omission of lightning arresters, and in that case, the capacity of the lightning arresters should be Increase.

  • 본 논문에서는 초고해상도 기술의 복잡도를 줄이기 위하여 픽셀단위 생략 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 픽셀 단위로 수평, 수직 방향의 밝기에 대한 2 차 미분치에 기반하여 생략을 결정한다. 제안하는 방법의 성능 평가를 위하여 가장 간단한 초고해상도 알고리즘인 SRCNN 과 제안하는 방법의 PSNR 비교한다. 그 결과 제안하는 방법이 평균적으로 약 47%의 픽셀이 생략이 되면서 SRCNN 대비 0.2dB PSNR 감소를 보인다.

  • In this paper, we present a skipping method of transformation and quantization process using skip blocks estimation in fast H.264 video encoder. In order to reduce the complexity, we estimate skip mode blocks using integer discrete cosine transform and quantization and a skipping condition is derived by the analysis of those processes. The experimental result show that the proposed algorithm has effective estimations.

Centering Theory and Argument Deletion in Spoken Korean (센터링 이론과 대화체에서의 논항 생략 현상)

  • This paper analyzes the distribution and classification of unrealized arguments of a predicate often called zero pronouns. in spoken Korean. Based on the transcript of a one-hour-Iong dialogue. recorded from public radio stations. I present the statistical data on argument ellipsis in Korean with respect to the frequency of zero ronouns as well as the nature of their antecedents. I go further to review some of the previous efforts to identify the discourse- theoretic functions of zero-pronouns in the framework of Centering Theory. and propose that the zero-pronouns in spoken Korean be divided into center-insensitive vs. center-sensitive classes. I also point out a couple of language-particular idiosyncrasies found in Korean, such as morpho-syntactic elements and encyclopaedic knowledge. that interact with center management in on-going discourse and often lead to difficulties in applying the centering rules and constraints to Korean.

  • HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) extension considers screen content as one of its main candidate sources for encoding. Among the tools already included in HEVC version 1, the technique of using transform skip mode allows transform to be skipped and to perform quantization process only. It is known to improve video coding efficiency for screen contents which are characterized to have much high frequency energy. But encoding complexity increases since its encoder should decide whether transform should be used or not in each $4{\times}4$ transform block. Based on statistical correlation between IBC (Intra block copy) and transform skip modes both of which are known effective in screen contents, this paper proposes a combined method of the fast transform skip mode decision and a modified transform skip signaling which signals transform_skip_flag at CU level as a representative transform skip signal. By simulation, the proposed method is shown to reduce encoding time of $4{\times}4$ transform blocks by about 32%.

Motion Estimation Skipping Technique for Fast Motion Estimation (고속 움직임 추정을 위한 움직임 추정 생략 기법)

  • The paper proposes a motion estimation (ME) technique to reduce computational complexity. It is achieved by skipping ME process for macro-blocks decided to be in no need of the operation. Thus, it is called ME skipping technique(MEST). In general, the ME is composed of integer pixel precision ME (IME) followed by half pixel precision ME (HME). The MEST is performed just before an IME process and makes a decision on skipping the IME process according to a criterion based on ME errors of adjacent macro-blocks (MBs) already encoded. When the IME process for a MB is decided to be skipped, which is called ME skip mode, the IME process is skipped and the integer pixel precision motion vector of the MB is just replaced by a predicted vector and used as the input of HME. On the other hands, the IME processes for MBs in ME non-skip mode are not skipped but normally performed. Accordingly, the MEST is very effective to reduce computational complexity when MBs in ME skip mode is abundant. In addition, when the MEST is applied to video encoder, it contributes to more accurate rate control and more robusaess for channel errors. It is experimentally shown that the MEST has the above advantages while maintaining good reconstructed image quality.

  • 본 논문에서는 휴대용 기기와 같은 에너지의 제약이 있는 환경에서 MPEG-4 비디오를 디코딩할 때, 일부 매크로 블록을 생략함으로써 에너지 소모를 줄이고 재생 품질의 저하를 최소화하는 방법을 제안한다. 이러한 방법을 실제 참조 보드에서 구현, 검증한 결과 매크로 블록 생략에 의해 재생 품질에의 영향을 최소화하면서 30% 정도까지 재생 에너지의 소모를 줄일 수 있었다.

Shot Change Detection using Variable Length Frame Skip Method (가변 길이 프레임 생략 방법을 이용한 장면 전환 검출)

  • 히스토그램을 이용한 장면 전환 검출 기법은 순차적으로 접근하여 모든 프레임의 히스토그램을 구하고 각 히스토그램의 차를 이용하여 장면 전환을 검출한다. 하지만, 장면 전환이 비교적 적게 나타나는 부분에서는 모든 프레임을 비교한다는 것은 비효율적이다. 본 논문에서는 모든 프레임을 순차적으로 비교하지 않고 가중치를 조절하여 장면 전환이 거의 발생하지 않는 경우는 많은 프레임을, 장면 전환이 많은 곳에서는 적은 프레임을 생략하여 히스토그램을 비교하는 방법을 제안한다. 이 방법은 생략하는 프레임 수를 조절하기 때문에 순차적으로 처리하는 것보다 빠른 처리 시간을 보일 수 있다.

Efficient Summarization Using Zero Anaphora Resolution (한국어 영 대용어 처리를 통한 문서요약의 성능 향상)

  • 본 논문에서는 보다 간결한 요약문을 생성하기 위하여. 문장 전체를 추출하는 것이 아니라 문장의 일부분을 요약으로 추출한다. 그런데 한국어의 경우 문장 구조상 반복되는 문장성분을 생략하는 영 대용 문제가 빈번하게 발생하기 때문에, 문장의 일부분 추출시. 생략된 성분을 복원하지 않으면 요약문의 의미가 불완전하고 모호해 질 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 문서 안에서 중요한 부분을 추출한 뒤, 생략된 성분을 복원하여 요약문의 가독성을 놓이는 방법을 제안한다. Luhn의 방법을 이용하여 문서내의 중요 클러스터를 추출하였고, 기존의 문장분할 및 영 대용어 복원 알고리즘을 사용하여 생략된 성분을 복원하였다. 본 논문에서 제안된 요약 방법은 신문기사와 같이 문장의 수는 많지 않고, 문장의 길이가 비교적 긴 문서를 짧은 문장으로 요약하는 데 효율적이다.
