Korean Protestant Prayer Traditions and Christian Education (한국 개신교 기도 전통과 기독교교육)

  • After Protestant missionaries delivered the gospel to Korea in the 1880s, Korean Protestantism has pursued qualitative growth following quantitative growth. Pastors and scholars are continuing their efforts for qualitative growth in various fields such as theology, ministry, social participation, ethics, education, counseling, history, and spirituality. Prayer has been a significant spiritual resource and method in the history and for the faith of Korean Protestant churches. Historical and theoretical research on Korean Protestant prayer traditions has been continuously performed, and it is time to re-establish and renew the prayer traditions for the new generation and context of the Protestant churches. In this historical time, it is necessary to summarize the Korean Protestant prayer traditions and describe their significance for the change of Korean Protestantism and its prayer education. This study analyzes the characteristic elements of the Korean Protestant prayer tradition and discusses its significance in the church and Christian education. In addition, it analyzes the cause and background of the establishment of a specific prayer element in Korean Protestantism and describes the relationship with the topics currently being emerged. Through the research on the prayer traditions, this study reflects on the meaning of the Korean Protestant prayer tradition to Christian education and discusses the content, method, and purpose of future education in relation to Korean Protestant prayer. This study argues that prayer education should be conducted from the perspective of Christian history and tradition as a whole with understanding the characteristics of Korean Protestant prayer traditions and the educational and non-educational elements of prayer.

Effects of AI-Based Personalized Adaptive Learning System in Higher Education (인공지능 기반으로 맞춤 및 적응형 학습 시스템의 고등 교육에서의 적용효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of assessment by adopting adaptive learning in higher education that are rarely examined in previous studies. In particular, this study applied research questions: 1) How does technical perception, perceived contents and features, and perceived integration of the AI-based adaptive system with lecture affect overall satisfaction, overall effectiveness, overall usefulness, overall motivation for the study, and intention to use it with other classes? 2) How do overall satisfaction, overall effectiveness, overall usefulness, motivation for the class, and intention to use affect loyalty on the AI-based adaptive system? This study conducted online surveys after the completion of the classes adopted AI-based adaptive learning system, ALEKS. This study applied ANOVA, regression, and factor analyses. The results of this study found that perceived integration of the AI-based adaptive learning system with the lectures on overall satisfaction, effectiveness, motivation, and intention to use for other classes showed significant with higher effect size. The results of this study provides implication that the AI-based learning system help improve learning outcomes in graduate level studies. The results provide policy and managerial implications that the AI-based adaptive learning system should improve better customer relationships in higher education.

Visual Signal Luminance Analysis and Light Source Color Application Study for Escape Guidance in Underground Common Duct (지하공동구 내 탈출 유도를 위한 비주얼 시그널 휘도 분석 및 광색 적용 연구)

  • Purpose: In this study, the luminance measurement analysis results of the smoke generation state are considered for visual signal display light color for real-time escape guidance in the underground common area. Method: We will analyze the scattering characteristics of light in the atmosphere and optical technology based on the visibility theory, and try to classify the elemental technology as a guidance function through a prototype of a visual signal display device for evacuation guidance. Result: In the experiment conducted under the smoke-generating condition, the results were derived with low luminance ratio and good visibility in the order of red, green, and yellow. However, this result is different from general lighting in which color rendering is considered, and is limited to signals for signals and detection. Conclusion: A conclusions were drawn by reflecting both the luminance measurement results in the smoke generation situation and the preference survey results conducted in previous studies for the light color of the visual signal for signal and detection. When events such as smoke occur, it is better to use the escape guidance visual signal in red or green.

The Analysis of Effects of a Music Teacher Training Program for Global Citizenship Education (세계시민교육 역량 제고를 위한 교육대학원 음악교육전공 교과 운영 효과 조사 연구: 예비음악교사의 다문화 교육태도 및 교수효능감을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a music teacher training program for global citizenship education and explore its effects on the participants' capacity for global citizenship. The program focused on multicultural education, including diversity and tolerance, among various topics in global citizenship education and consisted of practice to develop lesson plans for middle school music classes as well as theory about music in diverse sociocultural environments. The results showed that this program positively affected the participants' attitudes about a music teacher's role in the multicultural classroom. This program enabled participants to identify and reflect on any prejudice they may have against diversity and multiculturalism and to consider the role of music teachers in multicultural learning environments. The program also helped the participants develop greater self-efficacy as music teachers in multicultural environments and see music as a symbolic expression and a social and cultural product. Finally, the participants showed their positive attitude toward transformative pedagogy and considered various topics in global citizenship education beyond diversity and multiculturalism through multilateral understanding and exploration about music based on theory and practice in global citizenship education.

  • This study was done clarify the concept of clinical nurse's self-efficacy. This study was conducted using Walker & Avant's concept analysis framework, There were five aspects of the concept of Clinical Nurse's Self-Efficacy: To have faith and expectation that nurses can overcome stress and adversity in the clinical environment, To have a clear direction by believing that nurses themselves have the ability to perform nursing tasks, Allowing nurses to continue their work by believing that they have appropriate judgment to control various situations in clinical practice, Having a challenging sense of goal and motivating for the future through active participation in nursing work, and influencing various aspects from individual nurses to patients and hospital organizations. This conceptual analysis of clinical nurses' self-efficacy can recognize the need to prepare an educational system to improve nurses' self-efficacy and conduct related research.

An Analysis of the Characteristics of Teachers' Adaptive Practices in Science Classes (과학 수업에서 교사의 적응적 실행의 특징 분석)

  • In this study, we examined the adaptive practices of science teachers in their classrooms and their perspectives on the distinguishing features of these practices within science subjects. Our analysis comprised 339 cases from 128 middle and high school science teachers nationwide, and 199 cases on the characteristics of adaptive practices in science disciplines. The primary findings were as follows: First, the most significant characteristic of adaptive practice in science disciplines pertained to experimental procedures. Within the 'suggestion of additional materials/activities' category, the most frequently cited adaptive practice, teachers incorporated demonstrations to either facilitate student comprehension or enhance motivation. Additionally, 'experimental equipment manipulation or presentation of inquiry skills' emerged as the second most common adaptive practice related to experiments. Notably, over 50% of teacher responses regarding the characteristics of adaptive practices in science pertained to experiment guidance. Second, many adaptive practices involving difficulties experienced by students in learning situations were presented, particularly in areas such as numeracy and literacy. Many cases were related to the basic ability of mathematics used as a tool in science learning and understanding scientific terms in Chinese characters. Third, beyond 'experiment guidance', the characteristic adaptive practices of science subjects were related to 'connections between scientific theory and the real world', 'misconception guidance in science', 'cultivation of scientific thinking', and 'convergence approaches'. Fourth, the cases of adaptive practice presented by the science teachers differed by school level and major; therefore, it is necessary to consider school level or major in future research related to adaptive practice. Fifth, most of the adaptive action items with a small number of cases were adaptive actions executed from a macroscopic perspective, so it is necessary to pay attention to related professionalism. Finally, based on the results of this study, the implications for science education were discussed.

Political Economic Analysis of the Central Bank Digital Currency (중앙은행 디지털 화폐에 대한 정치경제학적 분석)

  • While most of countries today are opposing the issuance of private-led cryptocurrency, nevertheless they are actively jumping into the issuance of government-led digital currency such as CBDC. This article aims to find an answer to this dual attitude of countries. To achieve the purpose, this article finds out the characteristics of political power and economic interest that digital currency has and applies it to the international dimension of the Bretton Woods II System. Then come up to the conclusion that the answer can be found in the fact that the current dual attitude of countries is closely related to the crisis of the international monetary order. The Bretton Woods II System, which led the world economy through reckless monetary expansion based on credit currency, exposed its limitations through the 2008 global financial crisis and put countries into difficulties. In this situation, the cryptocurrency, which appeared by raising the issue of the monopoly power of the central authority in issuing currency, had no choice but to act as an opportunity to drive countries further and further into a corner. This article views CBDC as a national response to address these issues. In other words, countries maintain their monetary power by absorbing the challenge of private digital currency at the government level through CBDC, and use this as a stepping stone to reorganize the international monetary order in crisis with the intention to use it as a means to their advantage. That is what this article is trying to argue.

Cinematic Adaptation of Brecht's Gestus (브레히트 연기론의 영화적 변용 양상)

  • This article examines how Brecht's Gestus is borrowed and transformed into the film. I examined the critical debates on the film's use of Brecht and the style of Brecht's acting adopted in radical experimental films and Hollywood films. In addition, through the case of Korean film actor/ress, I sought to apply the Brechtian theory. First, despite the criticism that the film's acceptance of Brecht is overly formal and mechanical, film theory and practice reflect Brecht's ideas. In particular, regardless of the socio-political situation of Brecht's day, his Gestus is suitable and useful for film acting. Brecht's thought was realized by technological innovations such as montage and computer special effects, and above all, the social attitude of the actor was popularized through the education of the audience. Second, his strategy on performance is no longer unfamiliar, and goes beyond the boundaries of contradictory daily life and art, and becomes the pleasure of popular film. Although the intentions of naturalism and anti-naturalism in acting arts are different, the process and effects look at the same point. Third, through the case of Korean film actor/ress as an attempt of popular understanding about Brecht strategy, I could confirm the possibility of searching identity of Korean film actor/ress.

Factor, Type and Resolution of Cross-Cultural Conflict faced by Korean in Vietnam (베트남에서 한국인의 이문화 갈등 요인과 유형, 그리고 해결방안)

  • Through specific cases, this article examines the causes and measures to overcome cultural divergences most frequently encountered by Koreans living in Vietnam and Korean-contacting Vietnamese in terms of mode of communication, mode of living and mode of doing business. Historical reality proves that Vietnam and Korea have a lot in common in history, culture and society, due to the influence from the Chinese culture on both countries. However, each country has its own acculturation, hence, there exist, apart from the normal dissimilarities, differences between the two countries especially in natural environment andpolitical systems. As a result, in Vietnam, Koreans and Vietnamese have met with quite a lot of divergences in communication, business and living activities. In order to overcome these cultural divergences, in addition to the ceaseless efforts made by Koreans in Vietnam and Korean-contacting Vietnamese, there should be concern, assistance as well as cooperation between the people and the authorities of the two countries. We should draw lessons from the groundless or trivial affairs which, springing from the Chinese people's dislike for Koreans, have been blown up and disseminated on the internet; where by we are to reconsider the relationship between Koreans and Vietnamese. What is more, Korea still feels historically ashamed to have sent nearly 350,000 soldiers to the wa rin Vietnam for economic purposes in the past. As our predecessors brought about that historic shame to get bread for our fatherland in exchange, our generation today should approach Vietnam out of a sense of responsibility towards history. Having experienced a period of economic difficulties, Vietnam innovated and started its open-door policy in 1987. However, this event should not be regarded as the reason for us to approach Vietnam with only one rigid economic principle.

A Exploratory Study on the Relation of Subjective Performance and Objective Performance in Voucher Service: Focusing on Organization Efficiency and User Satisfaction Level (바우처 서비스 제공기관의 객관적 성과와 주관적 성과의 연계성에 관한 탐색적 연구 -기관운영의 효율성과 이용자 만족도 차원을 중심으로-)

  • Previous performance evaluation focusing on objective data of service agency has the limitations that did not reflect user-centered evaluation. With the expansion of voucher service, importance of perspective of service user such as satisfaction index is increasing. As voucher service has been delivered by the financial burden of government and user, we need the performance evaluation system that reflects the both performance indices to meet the accountability of two stake-holders. So this study focuses on deriving integrated evaluation system developing systems what mixed objective and subjective performance. Data used in this study is collected form 70 social service agencies that deliver voucher service and 1445 service users. Using General Satisfaction Index and Efficiency Index by DEA, this study analysed the correlation between efficiency and satisfaction index, and integrated performance evaluation model is constructed through portfolio map. This study has the following implication. This study theoretically explains the relation of objective performance and subjective performance and gives practical guidance in performance evaluation criterion and interpretation of performance.
