  • Applications such as study guides and adaptive tutoring must rely on a fine grained student model to tailor their interaction with the user. They are useful for Computer Adaptive Testing (CAT), for example, where the test items can be administered in order to maximize the information. I study how to design learner tailoring question process for recommendation. And this process can be applied the CAT and I use the formal language such as CSP in each process development for efficient process design. I use the item difficulty of item response theory for question recommendation process and learner can choice the difficulty step for learning change to control the difficulty of question in next learning. Finally, this method displayed the structural difference to compare between existent and this process.

  • As an aid towards improving the treatment of exchange and correlation effects in electronic structure calculations, it is desirable to have a clear picture of concepts of exchange-correlation functionals in computational calculations. For achieving this aim, it is necessary to perform different theoretical methods for many groups of materials. We have performed hybrid density functional theory (DFT) methods to investigate the density charges of atoms in rings and cages of carbon nanotube. DFT methods are engaged and compared their results. We have also been inclined to see the impression of exchange and correlation on nuclearnuclear energy and electron-nuclear energy and kinetic energy. With due attention to existence methods, B3P86, B3PW91, B1B96, BLYP and B3LYP have used in this work.

  • In this research, nonlinear Timoshenko beam element that is able to capture nonlinear shear deformation is developed. The proposed model shows more reasonable prediction than Bernoulli beam theory in short columns or strong shear column due to the consideration of shear deformation. The cross-section is modeled as fiber approach. Since the model is based on the fiber approach for section discretization, the plastic progress of the section can be traced and the coupling effect of the axial and flexural response. The developed element is implemented into the finite element program to analysis general reinforced concrete structures. As parametric study, reinforced concrete columns are analyzed and compared with experimental results, analyzed the property of behavior for reinforced concrete columns.

  • As Web-based online communities are rapidly growing, the agents in social groups need to know their measurable belief of trust for safe andsuccessful interactions. In this paper, we propose a computational model of trust resulting from available feedbacks in online communities. The notion of trust can be defined as an aggregation of consensus given a set of past interactions. The averagetrust of an agent further represents the center of gravity of the distribution of its trustworthiness and untrustworthiness. And then, we precisely describe the relationship between reputation, trust, and averagetrust through a concrete example of their computations. We apply our trust model to online internet settings in order to show how trust mechanisms are involved in a rational decision-making of the agents.

  • The objective of this study is to identify the community living experiences of married immigrant women in rural areas. For this purpose, we conducted qualitative research by sampling 14 married immigrant women who had lived in Korea for over three years by having in depth interviews with them. This study employed the grounded theory method suggested by Strauss and Corbin(1998). When raw data from in depth interviews with the participants were processed by open coding through the continuous comparison method with theoretical sensitivity, a total of 13 categories, 27 sub.categories, and 71 concepts were extracted. In case of axial coding, according to the results of analyzing through the paradigm procedure, the causal conditions for the community living experiences of married immigrant women in rural areas were 'Uncertain start' and 'Confront practical problems,' and the central phenomenon was 'Search for existence to participate in community activities.' Contextual conditions affecting the phenomenon was 'Regret international marriage,' 'Experience conflicts,' and 'Look with negative prejudices,' 'Overcome the actual' and action/interaction strategies were 'Look for a breakthrough of life' and 'Manage to acceptance.' Intervening conditions for promoting or suppressing the action/interaction strategies for the central phenomenon were 'Social support system' and 'local limitations,' and as a result, the community living experiences of married immigrant women in rural areas appeared to 'Prepare the future,' 'Hope continuous social activities,' and 'Expect public support systems.'

  • Science, technology and innovation policy (STI policy) is a result of the interactions between the social issues and academic research. Understanding the interactions of the STI policy between the social issues and academic research can throw some light on designing better policies and enhancing the social value of academic research. Thus, this paper explores the interactions of the STI policy between the social issues and academic research using the qualitative content analysis of major newspapers and journal articles in Korea. We have three major findings. First, on the one hand, academic research rose after uprising changes in the STI policy issues in the society. Second, on the other hand, social issues on STI policy were influenced by academic research reflecting the fundamental changes in the Korean innovation system and the nature of technology. Third, there are strong policy demands regarding the role of the STI policy for society and for traditional economic domains, but relevant research is scarce up to now. These findings contribute to uncovering the potential policy domains and agendas for policy makers and researchers.

  • Wave-current interaction due to strong ambient currents causes to alter wave properties such as wave height, wave profile and wave spectrum. In this study we first examined the SWAN model's applicability by comparing with an analytical solution of Suh et al. (1994) for wave-current interaction in finite water-depth. Numerical experiments using SWAN model have been conducted for Garolim Bay to estimate the design waveheights influenced by strong tidal currents. For the design wave periods of 8~10 sec, the design wave height of 3 m in NNW direction was increased by up to 40% when the incident waves encounter the opposing currents of 1.4 m/s while the wave height was reduced by 26% due to the following currents of 1.1 m at the bay mouth. This result indicates that the effect of wave-current interaction must be included to determine the design wave height if there exists a strong current.
