  • HCI 연구의 주된 주제는 인간중심의 상호작용 환경의 개발이다. 이러한 개발과정에서 새로운 인터페이스 환경이 실생활에 어떠한 기능적 효용가치를 가져다 줄 것인가에 관한 문제가 중요하게 고려되어야 한다. 이를 위해 실질적인 적용사례 구축을 통해 효용성을 입증하는 것이 필요하다. 또한, 최근의 HCI는 기존의 인터페이스 수단을 대체하는 것을 목적으로 개발되어 왔으나, 보다 발전된 접근방법으로서 기존의 인터페이스가 소화할 수 없었던 상호작용의 의미론적 요소들을 다루는 것이 필요할 것이다. 이러한 맥락에서 기존 컴퓨팅 환경에서의 문제해결 프로세스의 한 예를 고찰하고 이것이 새로운 HCI환경에서 효과적인 방법으로 어떻게 구현될 수 있는가에 대한 구체적인 사례를 연구하였다. 본 논문은 문제해결의 한 예로서, '복수개의 결정사안 중 최선의 방안을 도출하는 의사결정과정'에서 HCI를 접목한 효과적인 의사결정 프로세스를 제안하고 이의 효용성을 검증한다. 이러한 의사결정 방법론으로 기존에 사용되는 AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process)가 대표적이다. 일반적으로 AHP는 각 고려인자간 쌍대비교(pairwise comparisons)를 통해 중요도를 평가하는 과정을 포함한다. 이 과정을 통해 각각의 인자간의 쌍대비교치를 결정한 후 일련의 계산과정을 거쳐 그 결과를 도출한다. 이 작업은 통상적인 데스크탑 컴퓨터 환경에서 이루어진다. 본 논문에서는 각 인자간의 쌍대비교를 통한 우선순위를 결정하는 과정에서 새로운 인터페이스 환경의 적용을 위한 효과적인 연산 알고리즘을 제안하고 이의 효용성을 검증한다. 또한 의사결정 과정의 직관적 가시화를 위해 기본적인 프리미티므 도형으로 이루어진 그래픽 인터페이스를 구현하고, 기존의 의사결정 과정과 그 효용성을 비교한다.

Examination of a Voice Interaction Model for Smart TV through Conversation Patterns (대화 패턴 연구를 통한 스마트TV 음성 상호작용 모델의 탐구)

  • As new smart devices are evolved into the intelligent agent who can reflect user intention and use context, user experience design for easy and convenient usability becomes a core competitive edge. Under the assumption that human centered natural interaction is necessary for the optimal smart TV experience, this study explores the types of voice interaction which are peculiar to TV watching context. In order to build a model for the users to naturally interact with Smart TV, conversation patterns were collected by requesting key features of Smart TV to intelligent agent. Collected sentences were applied to CfA model and classified by responses to activate features. The classified conversation patterns were divided into feature activation and information search. This study has identified that CfC1 occurred when voice interaction between Smart TV and users was vague and CfC2 occurred when the requests were complex or conditional. In conclusion, Simple Request Type is the most efficient model and voice interaction is more appropriate to use to clarify users' vague requests.

A Study on Driver Experience in Autonomous Car Based on Trust and Distrust Model of Automation System (자율주행 자동차 환경에서의 운전자 경험에 대한 연구: 신뢰와 불신 형성 모형 중 심으로)

  • Recently technological drive on autonomous vehicle is on the rush. Along with the trend, researches on driver's perspective are increasing. However, previous studies have limitations in terms of study period and rich experience. In this paper, we conducted an ethnographically inspired fieldwork to observe human-autonomous car interaction. We had six participants to ride a prototype autonomous car on the real road for six days. After, we generated trust, distrust factors according to Lee & See's categorization of trust dimension: process, performance, and purpose. We derived eight distrust factors that saliently influences passenger's experience in autonomous vehicle. Our research broadens trust model into autonomous driving context based on real road field study and contributes to automotive community with design guidelines to increase trust toward autonomous vehicle.

Police Networks for Criminal Intelligence Functions: Based on Informal Social Network Analysis (경찰 범죄정보 수집 활동의 관계망 분석: 비공식적 사회연결망 분석을 중심으로)

  • Recently, the necessities of gathering, producing, and sharing criminal information are critically important as intelligence functions of police agencies to improving public safety and national security. However, the inadequacies and barriers within which police agencies have in regard to intelligence functions impede criminal information gathering, intelligence producing within their agency, and intelligence sharing with other agencies. In this study, we analyzed informal networks constructed from a survey dataset of information and intelligence sharing among officers in police agencies. The results revealed the different structural properties of intelligence networks between police agencies. We did find that officers with high indegree and outdegree in a network played critical role on the dynamics and degree of intelligence gathering and assessment responsibilities. Finally, we could find evidence that the potential role of intermediary triggered relational dynamics for developing and sharing critical information among all police agencies.

Expectation and Expectation Gap towards intelligent properties of AI-based Conversational Agent (인공지능 대화형 에이전트의 지능적 속성에 대한 기대와 기대 격차)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the users' expectation and expectation gap about the attributes of smart speaker as an intelligent agent, ie autonomy, sociality, responsiveness, activeness, time continuity, goal orientation. To this end, semi-structured interviews were conducted for smart speaker users and analyzed based on ground theory. Result has shown that people have huge expectation gap about the sociality and human-likeness of smart speakers, due to limitations in technology. The responsiveness of smart speakers was found to have positive expectation gap. For the memory of time-sequential information, there was an ambivalent expectation gap depending on the degree of information sensitivity and presentation method. We also found that there was a low expectation level for autonomous aspects of smart speakers. In addition, proactive aspects were preferred only when appropriate for the context. This study presents implications for designing a way to interact with smart speakers and managing expectations.

  • The study aim to test the effect of voice agent's preceding utterance type on the user experience in the smart home contexts by conversation types. Based on two types of conversation (task-oriented vs. relationship-oriented conversations) and two types of utterance (preceding vs. response utterances), four different scenarios were designed for experimental study. A total of 62 participants were divided into two groups by utterance type, and exposed to two scenarios of the conversation types. Likeability, psychological reactance, and perceived intelligence were measured for the user experience of conversational agent. The result showed main effects of likeability in task-oriented conversations, and of psychological reactance in preceding utterances. The interaction effect demonstrated that preceding conversation improved the likeabilitty and perceived intelligence in the task-oriented conversations.

  • As the 3D modeling technology and conversational algorithm is developed, digital humans are being used in various fields, and also virtual bankers have begun to appear in banks, including major banks such as Shin-Han Bank and Nong-Hyup Bank. However, most of the research of digital human mainly focus on its appearance, and research on robot persona that should be considered in anthropomorphizing a robot is insufficient. In this study, an experiment was conducted to find out the user experience of three scenarios (student ID receipt, deposit and withdrawal account opening, leasehold loan consultation) in which the level of anthropomorphism of the speech strategy and the level of personal information use differed in the specific context of banking. As a result of the study, social presence and usefulness had an interactive effect on the scenario and the level of anthropomorphism. There was no interaction effect on intimacy, trustworthiness, and perceived intelligence, but a tendency could be confirmed.

Variations of Shared Learning in Trading Zone: Focus on the Case of Teachers in the 'Learning Community of Woodworking' (교역지대 내에서 공유된 배움의 다양한 변주: 목공 학습 공동체 교사들의 사례를 중심으로)

  • This study attempts to understand the context of shared learning in the trading zone formed by teachers from different backgrounds and the process in which this shared learning varies in the educational context, focusing on the case of 'Woodwork Science Education Study Group.' To do this, data was collected through in-depth interviews with eight teachers who participated in the 'Woodworking Science Education Research Group' and analyzed their responses based on grounded theory. As a result, the causal conditions of the teachers' research group were 'various contexts of entering the trading zone' and the central phenomenon was 'encounter with learning in the trading zone.' Contextual conditions affecting this phenomenon were 'woodwork as a boundary object and individual transfiguration experience,' and action/interaction strategy was 'various efforts and influences in the field.' The intervention condition was 'practical effort and experience in educational field.' Final result in this model is 'the new practice of learning shared in the trading zone.' In selective coating, it was found that the practice of the teacher's research group appears as four types of' 'Extracurricular creative experience type,' 'career education type,' 'curricula education type,' and 'school management type.' The results of this study suggest that the shared learning and antonymous practice among teachers in the teachers' research group as trading zone do not only meet their learning needs but also lead to various teaching practices in the individual teachers' context of education and improve the diversity and quality of education.

A Study about TV viewing behavior through Multiple Media under Nscreen circumstances (N스크린 환경에서 다중미디어를 활용한 TV프로그램 이용행태 연구)

  • This research analyzes the media which is simultaneously used with TV viewing, the behaviour of multiple media users, and the characteristics of TV programs under Nscreen circumstances. According to the results, TV provides stories and positions it as the main screen (84.5%, n=566), under the Nscreen circumstances. Personal media reproduces stories from TV by utilizing aspects of social media functions such as participation, open communication, community, connectivity, etc. The content is classified under three categories: 1) elicit emotion(point feeling), 2) information production, 3) participation, which is further divided into three subcategories; watch, wish, and result guarantee based on the level of interactivity. This inquiry is based upon diary survey and focus group interviews emphasized the role change of TV, specifically that TV takes a key role in generating original stories with the expansion of screen and social media. Even though users were able to watch the same TV programs at the same time and same place, the different methods of viewing: smartphone, tablet PC, web based mp3 and etc., it reproduced different stories and elicited different characteristics from its TV viewers.

Effect of Color and Emotional Context on Processing Emotional Information of Biological Motion (색과 정서적 맥락이 생물형운동의 정서정보처리에 미치는 영향)

  • It is crucial to process not only social cognitive information but also various emotional information for appropriate social interaction in everyday life. The processing of emotions embedded in social stimuli is affected by various context and external factors and the features of their own. Emotion discrimination tasks using point-light biological motion were conducted in this study to understand the factors influencing emotion processing and their effects. A target biological motion with angry or happy emotion was presented in the first task in red, green, white, or yellow color. A white angry, happy, or neutral "cue" biological motion was displayed simultaneously. Participants judged the emotion of the target relative to the cue stimulus by comparing the target with the cue. The second task used only emotionally neutral stimuli to find effect by the color itself. The results indicated an association between the specific color of the target and emotion. Red facilitated processing anger, whereas green appeared to facilitate happy emotion. The discrimination accuracy was high when the emotions of the cue and the target were identical in general, but the combination of red color and anger yielded different results compared with the rest of the conditions. Some illusory emotional responses associated with the target colors were observed in the second task. We could observe the effects of external factors in this study, affecting the emotional processing using biological motion rather than conventional face stimuli. Possible follow-up studies and clinical research were discussed.
