Review of International Research Cooperation Results for Intercomparison of Luminescence Dating (루미네선스 연대측정 상호비교를 위한 국제공동연구 결과 고찰)

  • The Risø Research Institute in Denmark conducted the luminescence dating intercomparison project, which derives equivalent dose, annual dose, and absolute age results for each laboratory from the same sample, and compares the results between laboratories. This project was carried out from 2006 to 2012. In this project, 30 international laboratories worldwide participated, including the luminescence laboratory at the Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources (KIGAM). As a result of the project's synthesis, the average value of the results generally shows an over-dispersion value between laboratories of about 13%. The equivalent dose value obtained through the provided quartz analyzed in KIGAM shows results almost identical to the final equivalent dose value of the project. On the other hand, the equivalent dose value obtained from self-extracted quartz analyzed in KIGAM shows a difference of about 0.9 Gy from the final result of the project, which is thought to be due to the difference in particle size of the separated quartz. This international joint research project is the first large-scale international joint study related to luminescence dating and is expected to have contributed to the reliability and use of luminescence dating internationally.

  • 컴퓨터 전공자들의 프로그래밍 개발 중심의 팀 프로젝트 수업은 프로그래밍 개발 능력과 팀원들 간의 협업 능력을 키울 수 있는 수업으로서, 기존에는 대면수업을 통해 교수자와 학습자간 그리고 팀을 이룬 학습자들 간에 긴밀한 상호작용으로 진행되어왔다. 그러나 2020년 COVID-19의 확산으로 대부분의 대학 수업들이 비대면 방식으로 진행됨에 따라 팀 프로젝트 수업 역시 비 대면으로 운영되어야 했으며 팀 활동을 위해 다양한 온라인 커뮤니케이션 방법이 모색되어야 했다. 본 연구에서는 팀 프로젝트 수업을 기존의 대면 수업으로 운영하였을 경우와 비대면 방식으로 운영하였을 때 학습자들이 느끼는 학습 효과에 대해 비교해보고자 한다. 대면 수업과 비대면 수업에 참여했던 학습자들을 대상으로 설문을 실시하여 팀 프로젝트 수업을 통한 학습 이해도, 수업 흥미도, 학습자간의 소통의 원활성, 수업 참여의 적극성 그리고 전체적인 수업 만족도에 대한 설문 결과를 비교 분석하였다. 향후 포스트 코로나 시대에는 대면과 비대면의 하이브리드 커뮤니케이션 방식이 대세를 이룰 것으로 예측되고 있는 만큼 대학 수업 방식에도 변화가 필요할 것이며 본 연구는 이를 위한 기초 연구로 활용될 수 있다.

Developing Measurement System for Key Performance Indicators on Building Construction Projects (건설 프로젝트 효율적 성과관리를 위한 핵심 지표 체계 구축)

  • In construction industry, project performance should be evaluated in terms of project value objectives, i.e., cost, time, quality, safety, and environment. However, there have been few, if any, systematic approaches in assessing comprehensive performance level which encompasses the whole spectrum of project value objectives. It is non trivial to establish the standardized performance metric system due to the project individualities. This study provides a new approach in assessing the wide variety of project performance types by collecting the real industry project data. In addition, the proposed system has been validated through industry survey on project practitioners. It is concluded that the developed quantitative project performance measurement system would be effectively useful in indicating the level of current status of a particular project and furthermore, to provide a meaningful strategy for the future project in a more sustainable way.

  • This study measures and compares the performance of research and development (R&D) programs in government-funded research institutes (GRIs) in terms of qualitative and quantitative approaches to find out strategic insights for improving performance evaluation policy. In particular, we adopt the evaluation results from the real data of K institute in 2015 for a qualitative evaluation and the results of data envelopment analysis (DEA) for a quantitative evaluation. Comparative analysis of the R&D performance of 14 programs finds that the difference between the evaluation results of qualitative and quantitative approaches is significant. From this finding, we suggest several strategic directions to complement two approaches each other.

  • Web based lecture & learning system has changed the conventional learner-oriented educational environment by adding mutual interactions. From the learner competency-based education. the necessity of the learner-oriented education and the mutual cooperation among the learners has been increased. A project-based education system will achieve a progressive development in understanding and the competency for the job to be performed by the mutual interactions between the learners and between the learners and the lecturer. This paper presents the project-based learning system in order to facilitate and achieve the goals of the industrial business processing system implementations in the ongoing popular Internet environments. In the proposed project-based system, the lecturer presents a problem to be solved and leads the education as a supervisor The learner can maximize the efficiency for study by taking advantage of the learner-oriented comparison study and the patterning.

Estimating the Moments of the Project Completion Time in Project Networks (프로젝트 네트워크에서 사업완성시간의 적률 추정)

  • For a project network analysis, a fundamental problem is to estimate the distribution function of the project completion time. In this paper, we propose a method for evaluating moments(mean, variance, skewness, kurtosis) of the project completion time under the assumption that the durations of activities are independently and normally distributed. The proposed method utilizes the technique of discretization to replace the continuous probability density function(pdf) of activity duration with its discrete pdf and a random number generation. The proposed method is easy to use for large-sized project networks, and the computational results of the proposed method indicate that the accuracy is comparable to that of direct Monte Carlo simulation.

  • This study aims to implement an efficient process management system for small and medium sized(local) construction companies and a performance management system for the Korean construction industry. The process management system by Lean Construction is Web 2.0 platform-based and creates clusters with numerous general contractors and sub-contractors, which will enable mutually organic process management. Plus, this system will enable them to compare project performance management by analyzing it during or after a project by collecting and accumulating lots of data occurring in pursuit of a project. These performance management cases will be of help in process planning during similar upcoming projects. This study is expected to somewhat reduce the burden of implementing a complicated process management protocol and system that Korean small and medium sized (local) construction companies experience with their web-based process management, and is supposed to realize accurate performance management with highly reliable data which are significantly accumulated within the database.

  • The purpose of this paper is to study the send and receive of the message in the both Bolero and TEDI System. Bolero System is the business processes and methods, together with the digital information system, which are provided by Bolero International for communicating Messages and Documents and facilitating business transactions, as well as the Bolero Rulebook and Operating Rules governing their use. On the other hand, The TEDI System replaces a series of trade documents with electronic date, and it realizes secure and reliable transactions of data among parties by means of open networks, such as the Internet. The TEDI system is composed of Web browsers, TC Servers, a RSP Server, and Certification Servers.

  • 기후변화로 인한 몬순 강수량 변동은 세계에서 가장 인구가 많은 몬순 지역의 농업, 수자원, 에너지, 경제 및 사회와 밀접한 관련이 있으므로, 미래의 몬순 강수량 변화를 예측하는 것은 매우 중요하다. 결합 모델 상호 비교 프로젝트의 5 단계(CMIP5)에서는 복사 강제력이 2100년 이후에 약 2.6, 4.5, 6.0 및 $8.5Wm^{-2}$의 증가로 안정화된다고 가정하는 4가지의 다양한 시나리오(RCP 2.6, 4.5, 6.0, 8.5) 자료를 제공하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 한반도의 강수량에 큰 영향을 미치는 동아시아 여름 몬순의 기후 변화에 대해 더욱 집중하고자 한다. CMIP5 모형 자료에 대하여 대표 GCM 모형 선정을 하기 위해, 수문 분야에서 활용 가능한 기후모델 성능 평가 matrix를 구축하였다. 본 연구에서 사용된 평가 matrix는 동아시아 및 한반도 지역을 대상으로 CMIP5 모형의 강수 및 최고?최저기온에 대한 평균 기후장(spatial climatology)과 연변동성(interannual variability)의 모사력을 각 모형별, 계절별 비교뿐만 아니라 극한기후 모사력도 함께 고려하여, 대표 GCM을 선정하였다. 기후변화에 따른 동아시아 지역의 몬순 특성을 더욱 자세히 살펴보기 위해, 대표 GCM으로 선정된 모형들의 2가지 시나리오(RCP4.5와 RCP.5)에 대해 동아시아 지역에서의 여름 몬순 강수 변동 및 특성을 분석 및 비교하였다.

  • Construction managers need to pay a close attention to the resource utilization in order to deliver the construction project successfully. Construction scheduling is crucial for resource control in that it provides information when and how much to bring down work force to sites. In scheduling, activity duration is projected based on the productivity of historical data or the intuition of scheduler. This paper studies the opportunity of applying cost-based productivity for estimating activity duration. For cost-based productivity, the cost of resource is used as an input and the work quantities as an output. Out of historical data, regression model has been developed to understand the validity of applying cost-based productivity in projecting activity duration. The result of study will work as a prerequisite for implementing the environment of database-based construction scheduling.
