Characteristics of fruit body of Neolentinus lepideus according to relative humidity (상대습도에 따른 잣버섯의 생육형태)

  • This study was focused on finding a relationship between fruit-body growth and relative humidity in Neolentinus lepideus cultivation. The higher the relative humidity, the moisture content of pileus and stipe were also tends to be increased. The day of formation of primordia and development of fruit body was shortest at the relative humidity 95%. The yield and commercial yield were higher in the relative humidity 95% than in the other treatment. Individual weight of fruit body was the highest at the relative humidity 75% and 85%. Crack indices of pileus was the strongest at the relative humidity 65%.

Principal Component Analysis of the Classification of Yacon Cultivation Areas in Korea (주성분 분석을 이용한 야콘의 재배지대 구분)

  • To establish cultivation areas for the stable production of yacon, this study investigated the productivity and functional component contents of yacon in eight regions of Korea from 2011 to 2013. The results of principal component analysis using these data were as follows. A survey of 16 agricultural traits and meteorological data in the eight yacon cultivation areas showed that five factors (average temperature, maximum temperature, minimum temperature, frost-free days, and fructooligosaccharide content) were highly significant at the p < 0.001 level. Among the 16 agricultural traits and meteorological data used in the main component analysis of yacon cultivation areas, approximately eight contributed to the first principal component, and approximately four contributed to each of the second and third principal components. In particular, factors related to productivity, fructooligosaccharide content, and temperature change were considered important criteria for the classification of cultivation areas. The cultivation areas were divided into three groups by principal component analysis. In Group I, containing the Jinbu and Bonghwa areas in the mid-highland region at 500-560 m above sea level, the product yield was the highest at 2,622-3,196 kg/10a, the fructooligosaccharide content was also the highest at 9.04-9.62%, and the mean temperature was $17.3-18.5^{\circ}C$. In Group II, the areas Suncheon, Okcheon, Yeoju, and Gangneung, at 20-180 m above sea level, had the lowest yield, relatively lower fructooligosaccharide content, and the highest temperature. The areas in Group III showed values intermediate between those of Group I and Group II. For the different yacon cultivation areas, the product quantity and fructooligosaccharide content differed according to the environmental temperature, and the temperature conditions and number of frost-free days are considered important indicators for cultivation sites. Therefore, in terms of producing yacon with high quality, cultivation at 500-560 m is considered to give a higher yield and functional fructooligosaccharide content.

  • 포스트 코로나 이후 먹거리에 대한 소비자의 인식전환으로 건강먹거리인 야콘에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있다. 야콘은 남미 안데스에서 도입된지 40여년 되었으며 달콤한 맛과 아삭아삭한 식감을 가져 생식용과 야콘즙으로 인기있으나 현재 국내 육종된 품종이 없다. 따라서, 다양한 유전자원을 확보하고 자원에 대한 평가를 통해 신품종 육성을 위한 기초 자료로 활용하고자 실시하였다. 연구에 사용된 재료는 국립식량과학원에서 보유하고 있는 5개 자원을 대상으로 초장, 엽수, 줄기수, 생체중, 관아수량, 괴근수량 등을 조사하였으며, 조사방법은 농촌진흥청 농업과학기술 연구조사 분석기준(RDA, 2012) 준하였다. 야콘 유전자원의 지상부 특성 결과, 초장이 92-127cm 범위를 보였으며, 줄기수는 8-12개, 경엽중은 1,433-2,855kg, 엽수는 152-195개의 범위를 보였다. 또한, 유전자원별 지하부 특성을 살펴보면, 유전자 원별 HY1이 관아수가 가장 많고, 관아수량도 352/10a으로 가장 무거웠다. 괴근수량을 살펴보면, HYL2가 총수량이 5,197 kg/10a, 상품수량이 4,213 kg/10a으로로 가장 많았으며, HYL3, HYL4, HYL5, HYL1 순이었다. 유전자원의 생리장해 결과를 조사한 결과, 열근 및 부패발생은 HYL1이 가장 심하였으며, HLY5가 상대적으로 약했다. 유전자원의 품질특성을 조사한 결과, 당도는 HYL5가 12.5로 가장 높았으며, HYL1이 8.7로 가장 낮았다. 이상의 결과를 바탕으로, 향후 야콘의 인공교배 단계에서부터 육종프로그램에 활용할 계획이다.

Variation of Yield and Major Agronomic Characters under the Different Planting Densities of Sculellaria baicalensis (황금 재식밀도에 따른 수량 및 주요형질의 변이)

  • This study was invesigated to find out the optimum planting densities of Sculellaria baicalensis GEORGE about growth characters, yield components and yield at 6 planting densities by direct sowing culture. The results obtained are summarized as follows ; Studying the correlationship, the highly negative significances were found between planting densities and dry wights of root, leaves and stem ; on the other hand, the highly positive significances were found between planting densities and plant hight, stem diameter, respeitively. Plant height was long in dense planting, and short in spacious planting by direct sowing culture. Stem diameter was thick in spacious planting, and was thin in dense planting. Length and dry weight of root per plant were decreased in dense planting and were increased in spacious planting by direct sowing culture. Quality and yield of dry root weight were highest in optimum planting densities (30${\times}$10cm ; 33plants/m$^2$) by direct sowing culture.

Effect of Soil Heating and Lateral Branching in White Spined Cucumbers (지중가온이 백침계 오이의 측지 발생에 미치는 영향)

  • The cultivation area of white spined cucumbers for export has continuously increased up to 121 ha in 2000. Since white spined cucumbers set fruits on lateral shoots, fruit yield is dependent upon the development of lateral shoots. Unfortunately, the major cultivation period is during winter season, October to February, when temperature and light are limited for the development lateral shoots. This experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of soil heating on the development of lateral shoots in white spined cucumbers. Number of lateral shoots were 13.7 and 11.7 in the soil heated treatment and in the control, respectively. Number of marketable fruits per plant was 45 in the soil heated treatment as compared to 38 in the control. Fruit yield was 81 ton per ha, an 18% increase, in the soil heated treatment. Soil heating not only increased number of long lateral shoots but also decreased curved fruits.

Effect of Heat Conservation of Greenhouse Film on Growth and Quality in Oriental Melon (필름두께 및 적외선 흡수율 차이가 참외의 품질 및 수량에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to improve light environment of oriental melon cultivation in winter season. Three polyolefin foreign films (J-1, J-2, J-3) and three polyethylene domestic films (K-1, K-2, K-3) with different film thickness, ultraviolet ray interception and infrared ray absorption were used. As the result of this experiment, soluble solid of oriental melon fruit in K-3 was $14.3^{\circ}Brix$, those in J-3 and J-2 were higher by 1.3 and $0.8^{\circ}Brix$, respectively. Chromaticity (a value) of pericarp in K-3 was 0.5, those in J-3, J-1 and J-2 were higher by 3.3, 2.3 and 1.9, respectively. Especially, fermented and malformed fruit rates in J-1, J-2 and J-3 were decreased and marketable fruit rates were increased. Marketable yield in K-3 was 1,622 kg per 10a, those in J-1, J-3 and J-2 were increased by 31.2%, 23.8% and 18.5% compare to K-3, respectively. In this study, Polyolefin films (J-1, J-2, J-3) with thickness and infrared ray absorption ratio keeping higher heat conservation, therefore, soluble solid and chromaticity of fruit were increased, fermented fruit rate was decreased, and marketable fruit rate and yield were increased.

  • 냉온처리 기간에 따른 생육저해는 처리 시간에 비례하여 증가하는 경향이었다. 냉온처리 횟수가 증가할수록 초장, 엽면적, 건물중은 무처리에 비해 크게 감소하였으며, 오이과실의 개화후 일수에 따른 신장속도는 냉온 처리로 0.59-2.26cm/일로 약 10% 감소되었으며, 냉온처리로 오이의 상품과율과 수량은 각각 25-26%, 18-36% 감수되었다.

  • 참외는 일년생 작물로 손자덩굴에 과실이 착과되며 포복재배를 하고 있어, 덩굴의 과번무로 인한 채광과 통풍불량 및 고온으로 착과와 과실비대가 부진하여 품질이 저하되며 호흡량의 증가로 광합성율의 저하와, 각종 병해충 및 생리장해인 발효과 발생으로 많은 피해를 주고 있는 실정이다. 조 등(1997)은 관행적인 포복재배에 의존하고 있어 단위 면적당 수량 증수는 크게 기대할 수 없다고 하였으며, 최 등(1996)은 지주재배에서 과실의 당도가 높았으며 기형과와 발효과의 감소로 상품과 수량은 증수되었다고 보고하였으며, 함 등(1996)은 줄유인재배는 수량 증수는 가져왔으나 줄유인 및 관리에 많은 노동력이 소요되었다고 하였다. Effect of Plant Populations on the Number and Weight of Ear and Gross Income in Sweet Corn (재식밀도가 단옥수수의 이삭수, 이삭무게 및 조수입에 미치는 영향)

  • A sweet corn hybrid, Golden Cross Bantam 70, was grown at 5 plant populations (5,000, 6,000, 7,000, 8,000, and 9,000 plants/10a) under the transparent P .E. film mulch to find the best yield evaluation method. Plant population did not affect early plant growth, culm length, ear height, and silking date. However, number of tillers at harvest decreased but leaf area index increased with increased plant population. Marketable ears were divided into two classes; the first grade of which husked ear weight over l50g (unhusked ear weight 230g) and the second grade of which husked ear weight between 100 and 150g (unhusked ear weight between 180 and 230g) according to the whole sale market price. Average length, thickness, and weight of marketable ears over 100g of husked ears decreased with increased plant population. The proportion of ears over 150g decreased with increased plant population. However, total number and weight of marketable ears and gross income per 10a calculated considering weight and number of ears increased with plant population. There were highly positive correlations between gross income and ear number or ear weight per unit area. At high plant populations the number of marketable ears was overestimated but ear weight underestimated compared with gross income. Dry matter yield of stover increased with increased plant population and ranged 755-944kg/10a with 20.7-24.5% dry matter content. Rice black-streaked dwarf virus infection rate was 10.6-14.9%, but it was not related to plant population.

Determinants of Economic Threshold for Powdery Mildew on Cucumber (오이 흰가루병의 경제적 피해 허용수준 설정)

  • The influences of powdery mildew caused by Sphaerotheca fusca were assessed on cucumber to verify the economic injury level and yield response. Based on the relation of disease severity and yield response, economic threshold was determined by grading the disease severity of powdery mildew. Yield loss simulation due to damage of powdery mildew was conducted by defoliation of lower cucumber leaves in two seasons. The minimum number of leaves was 10 in spring season and 13 in autumn season which made no distinct difference on cucumber yield. The whole yields of cucumber was reduced as the disease severity was increased. Therefore occurrence of powdery mildew have a negative effect on cucumber yield. The regression equation between disease severity and yield loss showed Y=-57.237x+6143.1, $R^2=0.9628$. This equation suggests the disease severity of economic threshold is 17.6%, which is 3% reduction point of yield based on yield and economic relations. These results suggest that application of fungicide should be needed when 1 or 2 leaves of cucumber are infected by powdery mildew in the growing season.
