Effects of Surface Loading on the Behavior of Soil-Reinforced Segmental Retaining Walls (상재하중이 블록식 보강토 옹벽의 거동에 미치는 영향)

  • This paper presents the results of investigation on the effects of surface loading on the performance of soil-reinforced segmental retaining walls using the finite element method of analysis. A parametric study was performed by varying location of surface loading. The results of the analyses indicate that the increment of the reinforcement tensile load due to the presence of surface load may be significantly over-estimated when using the conventional approach. Furthermore, the external stability should be carefully examined when a surface loading is present just outside the reinforced soil zone. The implications of the findings from this study to current design approaches are discussed in detail.

  • Current design and analyzing methods about soil nailing structures, developed on the basis of results obtained from experiments in laboratory or in field and numerical analyses, have applied different interaction mechanisms between the reinforced nails and the surrounding ground, and this different safety factors against failure have been obtained. They might be proper approached if the assumptions about rigidity of nails and ground conditions are met with actual conditions occurred in field. Otherwise, they would result in designing on analyzing in inappropriate ways so that it is needed to evaluate the validity of them. Therefore, overall behavior and failure mechanism about soil nailing system were investigated by performing numerical method. Using a finite element analysis, parametric studies were made to examine the importance of the various parameters and their effects on the soil nailing system. The numerical technique of FEM, implemented with Hyperbolic constitutive model, was also used to analyze the test results.

  • 소일네일링 구조물의 설계 및 안정해석에 관한 지금까지의 연구는 대부분 굴착 배면지반의 자중만을 고려하여 연구 개발된 굴착사면에 인접하여 하중이 재하되는 경우, 그의 거동에 관한 연구는 미비한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 원심모형시험기를 사용하여 하중재하시 소일네일링 구조물의 거동과 파괴 메카니즘에 관한 매개변수적 실험을 실시하였다. 매개변수적 실험에서는 네일의 길이 및 간격, 네일의 설치각, 하중재하위치 등을 다양하게 변화시키면서 1g 상태에서 축소모형실험을 실시하는 한편, 30g 및 50g까지 중력수준을 증가시킨 상태에서 상재하중실험을 실시하였다. 실험으로부터 얻어진 결과를 바탕으로 하중-침하 특성, 매개변수의 변화에 따른 영향, 중력수준의 증가에 따른 영향, 파괴메카니즘 등을 비교 분석하였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 건축자재로 널리 사용되는 PVC바닥상재 표면에 내오염성과 항균성을 증가시키기 위한 광경화형 코팅액 개발에 관한 것이다. PVC 바닥상재용으로 사용되는 우레탄-아크릴 수지에 수용성 대전방지제와 항균제를 배합하여 오염 및 정전기로부터 보호하고 미생물에 의한 전염성질환을 예방할 수 있는 광경화형 내오염/항균 코팅액에 관한 실험을 수행하였다. 연구결과, 수지에 수용성대전방지제 15%와 항균제 1%를 혼합하여 제조한 코팅액을 Bar-coater No.12로 코팅한 표면이 전기저항($10^9\Omega/cm^2$), 내오염도(매직 Test, 먼지부착 Test) 및 부착력(100%) 양호, 항균성(99.99%)로 가장 좋은 물성을 보였다.

  • The vertical pressure due to soil prism load and surface surcharge load acts on buried pipe, and occasionally uplifting force due to earthquake or differential settlement acts on it. In this paper, study was performed to estimate the pressure acting on the buried pipe due to soil prism load through analyzing Marston-Spangler theory by new method. And loading tests on the buried flexible pipe were performed to study on the response of the pipe due to surface surcharge load. Also, through the estimation of uplifting resistance theory and uplifting test for buried pipe, the method to determine the maximum uplifting resistance of buried pipe was proposed.

  • By focusing on the resonant vibration mode of soil-underground structure system, this paper obtained dynamic soil stiffness and easy sliding conditions at the interface between soil and underground structure. Multi-step method is employed to isolate two primary causes of soil-structure interaction. Mohr-Coulomb criterion is used to determine the threshold level of the sliding. To find out the conditions the interface slides easily, parametric studies are performed about the factors governing sliding, which are the size and location of underground structures, ground condition, the configuration of surface deposit and interface friction coefficients.

  • This research is an experimental work of investigating the behavior of soil nailing system under surcharges whereas most of them were concentrated on evaluating its capacity under selfweight of excavated ground. Model tests in laboratory were performed to investigate the ultimate bearing capacity of soil nailing system under surcharges in forms of strip loading. Tests were carried out to find parameters controlling its capacity such as length of nail, vertical and horizontal spacings between nails, inclination of nail installation, and loading position of surcharges. Failure mechanism of forming failure line due to surcharge to soil nailing system was also observed by using dyed sand and monitoring its behavior. From results of these test, effects of parameters was analyzed qualitatively. Thus, this experimental results could provide meaningful data to analyze and design this system later.

To strength the national competition, many agents who concerned do their best for finishing that construction early as soon as possible. In generally, soil embankment on soft foundation is caused to reduce the stability by making the settlement of ground surface due to the over load. Thus, we try to make it stable by building EPS embankment construction which in our working place is one kind of the method of light embankment construction after excavating the original ground.

  • Drainage pipeline system repaired by trenchless technology using liners can be defined between partial and entire collapse. The liners in the partial collapse pipeline are subjected to only uniform groundwater pressure on the surface. This research evaluates practical and useful cured-in-placed pipe (CIPP) design equations based on experimental results and finite element analysis results. Also, stability evaluation of pipe liner system with edge treatment is performed using finite element analysis. The CIPP equation should be used to design liner pipe system.
