Region-Based Video Object Extraction Using Potential of frame - Difference Energies (프레임차 에너지의 전위차를 이용한 영역 기반의 비디오 객체 추출)

  • This paper proposes a region-based segmentation algorithm fur extracting a video object by using the cost of potential of frame-difference energies. In the first step of a region-based segmentation using spatial intensity, each frame is segmented into a partition of homogeneous regions finely so that each region does not contain the contour of a video object. The fine partition is used as an initial partition for the second step of spatio-temporal segmentation. In spatio-temporal segmentation, the homogeneity cost for each pair of adjacent regions is computed which reflects the potential between the frame-difference energy on the common contour and the frame-difference energy of the lower potential region of the two. The pair of adjacent regions whose cost is minimal then is searched. The two regions of minimum cost ale merged, which result in updating the partition. The merging is recursively performed until only the contours remain which have Same difference energies of high potential. In the fecal step of post-processing, the video object is extracted removing the contours inside the object.

  • LCD is supplied light by BLU(Back Light Unit) and the light represents color by each color filter. Also LCD adjusts the amount of light by controlling liquid crystal between the glass of upper plate and one of lower. However, it is impossible to completely exclude light due to the structural and physical characteristic of liquid crystal. Therefore, on transfering light through optical sheet and liquid crystal, many problems are generated. They are related with energy efficiency and get effective for the contrast of LCD to have lower contrast ratio than other display devices. To solve the problems, many techniques have been studied and developed but don't exist keys to solution for them. Among methods, local dimming is one example to be applied to LCD. In this paper we propose image processing algorithm for local dimming of BLU of LED used as light source. The proposed algorithm extracts maximum luminance signal and lights using each extracted signal on segmented region of BLU. Also the proposed algorithm generates image signal in corresponding to luminance of the segmented region and supplies them with LCD panel to represent image with improving luminance ratio.

Radiation Effect on Body Weight and Hematological Changes of Hybrid Mice by Conventional Fraction, Large Abdominal Field Irradiation (고식적 분할조사시 전복부 조사량에 따른 잡종 백서의 체중과 혈액상의 변화에 관한 연구)

  • Radiation effect on mammals, especially on hematologic changes, has been studied since discovery of x-ray. Various experimental animals were tried for radiobiological studies. 72hybrid mice with conventional faction $(15\times/week)$, large abdominal field $12\times3cm$, from symphysis pubic to xyphoid process) were used. Body weight was declined gradually by increasing irradiation doses, nadir was about $29.7\%$ in male; $30.4\%$ in female at 6000 rad irradiation group. Hemoglobin value was nearly normal throughout entire treatment. Significant dropping of WBC count was noted to $40-50\%$ of pretreatment values by only 1000rad irradiation. Change of differential count was interesting; : lymphocyte proportion showed gradual reduction, instead of gradual increasing of segmented neutrophil. Those proportion were reversed after 6000 rad irradiation. Urinary protein tests showed + - +++, showing no correlation with dosage. Application of our study in clinical combination therapy (radiation + chemotherapy) was discussed.

  • As the Internet technology advances, data on the web is increasing sharply. Many research study about incremental learning for classifying effectively in data increasing. Web document contains the time-series data such as published date. If we reflect time-series data to classification, it will be an effective classification. In this study, we analyze the time-series variation of the words. We propose an efficient classification through dividing the dataset based on the analysis of time-series information. For experiment, we corrected 1 million online news articles including time-series information. We divide the dataset and classify the dataset using SVM and $Na{\ddot{i}}ve$ Bayes. In each model, we show that classification performance is increasing. Through this study, we showed that reflecting time-series information can improve the classification performance.

FPGA implementation of high temperature feature points extraction algorithm for thermal image (열화상 이미지에 대한 고온 특징점 추출 알고리즘의 FPGA 구현)

  • Image segmentation has been presented in the various method in image interpretation and recognition, and the image is using separate the characteristics of the specific purpose. In this paper, we proposed an algorithm that separate image for feature points detected to high temperature in a Thermal infrared image. In order to improve the processing time, the proposed algorithm is implemented to FPGA Hardware Block using the Zynq-7000 Evaluation Board environment. The proposed High-Temperature Detection Algorithm and total FPGA blocks show a decrease of a processing time result from 16ms to 0.001ms, and from 50ms to 0.322ms respectively. It is also verified similar results of the PSNR to comparing software thermal testbench and hardware ones.

  • Increment of mobile client's information request in wireless mobile networks requires a new method to manage and serve the streaming media object. This paper proposes a new object segment grouping method for enhancing the performance of streaming media services in wireless mobile networks. The proposed method performs the similarity metric for the partitioned object segments, and it process the disjunction, conjunction, and filtering for these metrics. This paper was to decided the partitioned group of object segments for these operation metrics, and it decided the performance of streaming media services. The simulation result showed that the proposed method has better performance in throughput, average startup latency, and cache hit ratio.

  • 본 연구는 만경강을 대상으로 하도경사에 따라 하천을 상 중 하류로 구분하고, 빈도별 홍수량에 따라 홍수범람면적과 공간적 자료를 이용하여 하천공간을 확보해야 하는 지역과 홍수 방어 대책 수립이 필요한 지역을 선정하고자 한다. 이에 따라 홍수범람도 작성을 위해 만경강 유역을 무제부로 가정하고 CAESAR LISFLOOD 모형을 이용하여 홍수범람해석을 수행하였다. 하천의 상 중 하류별 범람해석 결과 상류하천 유역에서는 빈도별 홍수량이 커져도 홍수범람면적의 변화가 작았으며, 하류 하천의 경우 빈도별 홍수량이 커짐에 따라 범람면적이 크게 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 하천구간별에 따라 홍수범람해석 결과와 GIS 정보인 건물위치 및 도로망도 등을 활용하여 제내지 지역을 분할하고 분할된 지역에 대하여 하천 공간확보 가능지역과 홍수방어가 필요한 지역을 선정하였다. 분석결과 하류지역은 하천 공간확보가 가능한 후보 지역이 상대적으로 많고, 상류지역은 홍수방어가 필요한 지역이 상대적으로 많은 것으로 분석되었다. 향후 과거 하천 형태 및 습지 분포 위치 등 보다 다양한 GIS자료를 이용한 하천공간 확보 가능지역에 대하여 분석이 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

Enantiomer separation using a covalently immobilized chiral column derived from polysaccharide derivative by reversed phase liquid chromatography (역상 크로마토그래피에서 다당유도체로 공유결합된 키랄 컬럼을 이용한 거울상 이성질체의 광학분리)

  • Enantiomer separation of N-fluorenylmethoxycarbonyl (FMOC) $\alpha$-amino acid was performed on covalently immobilized chiral column (Chiralpak IB) based on polysaccharide derivative as a chiral selector by reversed phase liquid chromatography. The effect of the reversed mobile phase on the chromatographic parameters of the enantioselectivities, resolution factors and retention times using covalently immobilized Chiralpak IB was shown. Also the enantiomer separation of N-FMOC $\alpha$-amino acid in the reversed and normal phase was compared and the results obtained in the former mobile phase were generally lower than those in the latter mobile phase.

Identification of Palustrine Wetlands in Paldang Reservoir Using Spectral Mixture Analysis of Multi-temporal Landsat Imagery (다중시기 위성영상의 분광혼합화소분석에 의한 팔당 상수원보호구역의 소택형 습지 판별)

  • 본 연구는 중 저해상도 위성영상을 이용하여 하천주변 습지를 판별해내는 보다 개선된 기법을 개발해 내는데 그 목적이 있다. 중 저해상도 위성영상의 하나의 화소는 일반적으로 하나의 동질한 물체의 분광반사값을 나타내기보다는 다양한 분광값을 가진 물체들의 대표값으로 나타나게 된다. 특히 본 연구에서는 식생, 수문 및 토양요소의 혼합체인 습지의 판별을 위해서, 하나의 화소가 하나의 물체를 대표함을 전제로 하는 기존의 분석방법 보다는, 혼합화소 (mixed pixel)를 대상지 의 토지 피복을 가장 잘 반영 하는 순수한 화소값(endmember)들로 분해함으로써 보다 정확한 판별 및 분류를 가능케 하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 일반적으로 극세분광 위성영상의 분석에 활용되는 기법인 분광혼합화소분석(Spectral Mixture Analysis)을 이용하였는데, 습지 각 화소의 식생, 수문 및 토양요소의 흔합정도를 분해한 후, 이들의 분할영상 (fraction images)을 추출해내고 이를 분석에 이용하였다. 팔당상수원보호구역의 소택형 습지를 대상으로 봄 가을의 Landsat 영상에 대한 분석을 수행하였으며, 도출된 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 봄 가을 각각의 영상에 대하여 4개씩 endmember를 선정하였으며, 분할영상과 원자료 각각에 대하여 습지판별을 수행한 결과, 가을영상에 대하여 분할영상을 이용한 방법의 소택 형 습지 판별 정확도가 가장 높은 값을 보여주었다(생산자 정확도 : 83.3%, 사용자 정확도 : 86.5%). 둘째, 소택형 습지로 판별된 지역만을 대상으로 보다 세분화된 분류가 가능한 지 알아보기 위하여 소택형 습지로 판별된 지역의 영상에 대해 ISODATA 무감독분류를 수행한 결과 2개의 클러스터로 대별되었다. 현장조사, 기존 연구의 수심자료 및 식생에 대한 조사를 바탕으로 위의 2개의 클러스터를 조사한 결과, 수문조건에 따른 분류인 아계(subsystem) 단계의 '영구적 침수형 소택형 습지'와 '계절적 침수형 소택형 습지'로 분류할 수 있었다.

Multidimensional scaling of categorical data using the partition method (분할법을 활용한 범주형자료의 다차원척도법)

  • Multidimensional scaling (MDS) is an exploratory analysis of multivariate data to represent the dissimilarity among objects in the geometric low-dimensional space. However, a general MDS map only shows the information of objects without any information about variables. In this study, we used MDS based on the algorithm of Torgerson (Theory and Methods of Scaling, Wiley, 1958) to visualize some clusters of objects in categorical data. For this, we convert given data into a multiple indicator matrix. Additionally, we added the information of levels for each categorical variable on the MDS map by applying the partition method of Shin et al. (Korean Journal of Applied Statistics, 28, 1171-1180, 2015). Therefore, we can find information on the similarity among objects as well as find associations among categorical variables using the proposed MDS map.
