To reveal shear-wave velocities ($v_s$) and site characterization of Wonju, Korea, Rayleigh waves were recorded at 78 sites of lower altitude using 12 to 24 4.5-Hz vertical geophones for 20 days during the period of February to September 2013. Dispersion curves of the Rayleigh waves obtained by the extended spatial autocorrelation method were inverted using the damped least-squares method to derive $v_s$ models. From these 1-D models, the average $v_s$ to a depth of 30 m ($v_s30$), $v_s$ of weathered rocks, depths to these basement rocks, and average $v_s$ of the overburden layer were derived to be $16.3{\pm}0.7m$, $576{\pm}8m/s$, $290{\pm}7m/s$, and $418{\pm}13m/s$, respectively, in the 95% confidence range. To determine adequate proxies for $v_s30$, we computed correlation coefficients of $v_s30$ with topographic slope (r = 0.46) and elevation (r = 0.43). An empirical linear relationship is presented as a combination of individually estimated $v_s30$ with weighting factors of 0.45, 0.45, and 0.1 for topographic slope, elevation, and mapped lithology, respectively. Due to a weak correlation between $v_s30$ obtained from inversion of dispersion curves and the proxy-based estimation (r = 0.50), however, the relatively large error range should be considered for applications of this relationship.

The university is attempting educational innovation to cultivate talents required by society. The purpose of this study was to prove the educational effect by applying the PBL to on a fashion theoretical course. The research methods are theatrical research and model development research to guide to utilizing PBL. As a result of this study, the learners' satisfaction with the subject applying PBL was evaluated quite positively. In general, it has been shown to have a very effective effect on improving the learner's problem-solving capability, cooperative learning capability, and self-directed learning capability. In particular, the problem-solving capability is relatively high compared to other factors. The result is consistent with the educational goal of the PBL for improving the learner's problem-solving capability. Perceivable correlation analysis on the relationship between the factors to grasp the educational effect of the PBL revealed the factors with a static correlation. In particular, the problem solving capability and cooperative learning capability developed a significant correlation with self-directed learning capability. This is a testament to their ability to exert greater influence when the competencies that each learner develops are combined.
This study aims to elucidate characteristics of groundwater level fluctuation at riverbank filtration sites in Daesan-myeon, Changwon City. Groundwater level fluctuation, river water level change and stream-aquifer interaction are very important to estimate optimal discharge rate of the pumping well. Water level contours from February 2003 to October 2003 show normal decreasing trend toward the Nakdong river with the hydraulic gradient of 0.008. However, flow reversion occurs when groundwater is discharged at the pumping wells or rise of the Nakdong river by rainfall. The fluctuation of the Nakdong river ranges 0 - 10 m msl. Autocorrelation analysis was conducted to the groundwater levels measured on the six monitoring wells (DS1, DS2, DS3, DS4, DS6 and DS7). The analyzed waterlevel data can be grouped into three: group 1 (DS1 and DS3) represents strong linearity and long memory effect, group 2 (DS1 and DS6) intermediate linearity and memory, and group 3 (DS4 and DS7) weak linearity and memory. Waterlevels of group 1 wells are relatively closely related to the change of river-water level. Those of group 2 wells are largely affected by the pumping and the river-water level, and those of group 3 wells are strongly linked to pumping.
Mathematically gifted students' emotional changes during Mathematical Olympiad training camp were studied. The emotions of the gifted during the camp were fluctuated significantly by comparing their test scores with other camp attendants, while the morale was high at the beginning. The camp attendants were likely to overcome disappointment resulting from bad scores with putting more efforts on studying, which means their self-assessments for their mathematical talents are not affected by test results. From what characterizes the emotional changes of the gifted, we conclude as follows: First, they tend to be positive on grouping classes depending on the mathematical ability. Second, careful emotional supports and care were needed in ability grouping education. Third, it is important to let the gifted have more chances to communicate with other camp attendants. It is recommended to induce the gifted to put their focus on the learning goal. Fifth, the proper environment helps the gifted be indulged in studying mathematics.

Purpose: Since most disaster information systems are centered on non-disabled people, the reality is that there is a lack of disaster information delivery systems for the vulnerable, such as the disabled, the elderly, and children, who are relatively vulnerable to disasters. The purpose of the service is to improve the safety of the disabled and the elderly by eliminating blind spots of informatization and establishing customized disaster information services to respond to disasters through IoT-based integrated control technology. Method: The model at the core of this study is the disaster alert propagation model and evacuation support model, and it shall be developed by reflecting the behavioral characteristics of the disabled and the elderly in the event of a disaster. The disaster alert propagation model spreads disaster situations collected using IoT technology, and the evacuation support model uses geomagnetic field-based measuring technology to identify the user's indoor location and help the disabled and the elderly evacuate safely. Results: Demonstration model demonstration resulted in an efficient qualitative evaluation of indoor location accuracy, such as the suitability of evacuation route guidance and satisfaction of services from the user's perspective. Conclusion: Disaster information and evacuation support services were established for the safety vulnerable groups of mobile app for model verification. The disaster situation was demonstrated through experts in the related fields and the disabled by limiting it to the fire situation. It was evaluated as "satisfaction" in the adequacy of disaster information delivery and evacuation support, and its functional satisfaction and user UI were evaluated as "normal" due to the nature of the pilot model. Through this, the disaster information and evacuation support services presented in this study were evaluated to support the safety vulnerable groups to a faster disaster evacuation without missing the golden time of disaster evacuation.

We have investigated the 6th middle school science curriculum and its implementation based upon the results of middle school science teachers' and professors' ratings and self-reportings. The national-wide survey was administrated to obtain the data from 213 teachers of 112 middle schools and 43 professors of colleges of education. The survey items correspond to four stages of science curriculum. In the stage of the planned science curriculum, 'goals', 'framework of contents' and 'contents' are relevant to the basic guideline for curriculum revision, 'the more emphasis on inquiry activities'. However, the amount of contents is not appropriate, and 'methods' are difficult to attain. In the stage of the written science curriculum, 'goals', 'framework of contents', 'contents', 'methods' and 'evaluations' are not useful for teachers to teach science. In the stage of the implemented science curriculum, a small number of teachers use the issues of local community, organize the different group activities, develop assessment tools cooperatively, and conduct a lesson and a program considering students' diversities. This is partially because of the large amount of learning contents, the lack of materials and the weakness of supporting system. Finally, in the stage of the attained science curriculum, the students' achievements under the 6th curriculum is not higher than those under the other curricula.
This study analyzed the academic achievements on above-level testing of mathematics, physics, chemistry, and English in newly entering students of science specialized high schools. It can be expected that newly students of science high specialized schools have reached ceiling level in the middle school mathematics and science academic scores. Above-level testing(or off-level testing) is a test tool used to evaluate student's ability which are above-grade level. In this study, above-level testing tools were used to develop the same type examination paper of the 2013 Korean College Scholastic Ability Test(CSAT) in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and English. The conclusions of this study were as follow: First, the academic achievement level of science specialized high school freshmen were higher the average level of general high school senior because that over 50% of them are within the 5 grade of CSAT in mathematics, physics, and chemistry. In English, 19.3% science specialized high school freshmen have reached within the 5 grade of CSAT. Second, as a result of examining characteristics of academic achievement with respect to units of subjects, in mathematics, it was showed that the academic achievement of 'continuity and limit of a function' unit was higher, 'statistics' unit was lower. In physics, the academic achievement of 'Electricity and Magnetism' unit was higher, 'Waves and particles' unit was lower. In chemistry, the academic achievement of 'compounds in life' unit was higher, 'Air' unit was lower. In English, the academic achievement of 'practical sentence' of reading area was higher, 'Sentence' of writing area was lower. In conclusion, above-level testing provided a good strategy for identifying and determining appropriate programming interventions for gifted students who are two or more grade levels above their age-mates in achievements, aptitude, or ability.
Background: There is a need for the development of non-verbal music therapy programs to enhance the social skills of children with intellectual disabilities who face challenges in verbal communication. Objective: The purpose of this study is to propose a music therapy program aimed at improving the social skills of children with intellectual disabilities and to evaluate its clinical effectiveness. Method: This study designed a Social Skills Training based Musical Instrument performance (SST-MIP) intervention program that integrates existing musical instrument performance and social skills in music therapy and targeted children with intellectual disabilities. Clinical effectiveness was evaluated. A total of 51 participants were randomly assigned to either the experimental group (29 participants) or the control group (22 participants). The experimental group participated in the SST-MIP intervention program once a week for 50 minutes over 32 weeks. The level of social skills of the participants was measured using the Social Skills Rating System (SSRS - teacher form, elementary level). Results: The average SSRS score of the experimental group increased by 109.2% from 10.7 to 22.4 (p <.001), while the control group showed a relatively modest increase of 30.7% from 11.3 to 14.7 (p <.05). After the SST-MIP intervention, the SSRS score of the experimental group was 57.2% higher than that of the control group, with significant improvements in specific areas of social skills: self-control (79.6%), assertion (56.8%), and cooperation (43.2%). Conclusion: The SST-MIP has been found to significantly enhance the social skills of children with intellectual disabilities. The proposed SST-MIP intervention is expected to be a useful tool for training social skills in children with intellectual disabilities who struggle with verbal communication.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate coracohumeral distance (CHD) in patients with or without subcoracoid impingement with hypothesis that patients with subcoracoid impingement would have narrower CHD. Materials and Methods: One hundred twenty-four patients with subacromial impingement were evaluated. The subjects with subcoracoid impingement which was affirmed clinically and confirmed by ultrasound guided subcoracoid injection (n=28) was compared with patients with subacromial impingement only (n=96). Patients with stiffness and rotator cuff tear were excluded. Absolute CHD was measured on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) axial images and on ultrasound with the humerus in neutral position and internal rotation. Also relative ratio of distance difference (RRDD) defined as the difference of CHD in neutral position and internal rotation compared with absolute CHD in neutral on ultrasound was also measured. Results: The distance measured in neutral position was similar between US imaging and MRI (p>0.05) and both measurements did not have significant difference between the two groups (p>0.05). On ultrasound, the difference in CHD in internal rotation between the two groups nearly met the level of significance (p=0.07). No significant difference of CHD difference in two humeral positions was seen between the two groups. However, RRDD value was significantly greater in subcoracoid impingement group (p<0.05). Conclusion: No significant difference of CHD was seen between the subcoracoid impingement group and the control group. RRDD value was greater in subcoracoid impingement group suggesting that individualized coracohumeral distance in internal rotation should be taken into account when assessing patients with subcoracoid impingement.
To evaluate the metabolic changes in normal adult brains due to alterations SENSE and NEX (number of excitation) by multi voxel MR Spectroscopy at 3.0 Tesla. The study group was composed of normal volunteers (5 men and 8 women) with a mean ($\pm$ standard deviation) age of 41 (${\pm}11.65$). Their ages ranged from 28 to 61 years. MR Spectroscopy was performed with a 3.0T Achieva Release Version 2.0 (Philips Medical System-Netherlands). The 8 channel head coil was employed for MRS acquisition. The 13 volunteers underwent multi voxel spectroscopy (MVS) and single voxel spectroscopy (SVS) on the thalamus area with normally gray matter. Spectral parameters were as follows: 15 mm of thickness; 230 mm of FOV (field of view); 2000 msecs of repetition time (TR); 288 msecs of echo time (TE); $110{\times}110$ mm of VOI (view of interest); $15{\times}15{\times}15$ mm of voxel size. Multi voxel spectral parameters were made using specially in alteration of SENSE factor (1~3) and 1~2 of NEX. All MRS data were processed by the jMRUI 3.0 Version. There was no significant difference in NAA/Cr and Cho/Cr ratio between MVS and SVS likewise the previous results by Ross and coworkers in 1994. In addition, despite the alterations of SENSE factor and NEX in MVS, the metabolite ratios were not changed (F-value : 1.37, D.F : 3, P-value : 0.262). However, line-width of NAA peak in MVS was 3 times bigger than that in SVS. In the present study, we demonstrated that the alterations of SENSE factor and NEX were not critically affective to the result of metabolic ratios in the normal brain tissue.
