Classification and Standardization of Master-Data of Supply Chain for Adopting Common Standard Platform (공통표준플랫폼 적용을 위한 공급사슬 기준정보 분류 및 표준화)

  • In applying RFID/USN technology to various industries, it is needed to solve the problem caused by the system differences. Accordingly, this study introduces the common standard platform concept, and suggests the standard data scheme which provides the uniform perspective of classifying supply chain data and of using vocabularies. We selected several industry areas applicable for the platform, which are pharmaceutical, cosmetics, food and liquor industry. We collect and organize terminologies used in the supply chain of each industry, and then classify them according to the defined data attributes. The standardized vocabularies are suggested based on the contextured scheme of data classification. This study could provide more convenient way of communication between business partners, system developers and users of the platform.

  • Recently, it is entering the hyper connectivity age due to the development of sensor and communication technology. In particular, it is emerging new industries such as the IoT, bigdata, cloud by convergence with the ICT and other industries. Because these industries are high the gravity of the software, the demand for software manpower is increasing rapidly. But university curriculum don't deviate from the traditional curriculum, and lack of positive response to these changes is occurring a mismatch with the industry demand. In this paper, investigate a software curriculums of the four-year university, and will attempt to investigate the perception about the university software course of the corporate perspective. Also, we draw a on-site fitness of universities training course by analysis of importance on software training courses between universities and businesses. Finally, we propose a strategy model for software training course design appropriate for the field.

  • The performance measurement system of a company is an important tool to evaluate business result, to manage human resource and to achieve strategic management goals. Until 1990's, the performance in most of companies had been measured by financial perspectives. Recently non-financial perspectives with various and balanced view points are used. In the construction industry, the same situation is happened. However, effective tools are not developed yet. Therefore, this research proposes a framework of the comparable performance measurement in the construction industry. This framework is based on concept of the balanced scorecard(BSC) and prepared respectively for owner, contractor and architect/engineer Using this framework, it is possible to compare performance of a company with each other and to benchmark the best performance.

  • The Fourth Industrial Revolution, which is based on the development of information and communication technology (ICT), is expected to replace human knowledge work, which will cause problems of mass unemployment and wide income gap from job polarization. Furthermore, the change is expected to be rapid and wide, demanding proactive measures to respond to such abrupt social changes. However, previous literatures assume that the traditional form of employment will continue and provide limited solutions only. On the other hand, the Fourth Industrial Revolution will enable transition to the Prosumer Economy, which will ultimately lead consumers to become producers through increased job flexibility. If the prosumer economy arrives and the consumers become producers, it will no longer be the matter of finding workplace but rather, the matter of finding the work itself. In this regard, the new technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution can be the fundamental solution to such job issues. This paper suggests stable transition to the Prosumer Economy in order to solve the job issues in the age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. In order to effectively support the process, this paper suggests first, ensuring the amount of education by shortening labor time; second, facilitating life-time education through free online education service; and third, closing the digital divide through mandatory use of the e-government system.

Comparison between Planned and Actual Data of Block Assembly Process using Process Mining in Shipyards (조선 산업에서 프로세스 마이닝을 이용한 블록 조립 프로세스의 계획 및 실적 비교 분석)

  • This paper proposes a method to compare planned processes with actual processes of bock assembly operations in shipbuilding industry. Process models can be discovered using the process mining techniques both for planned and actual log data. The comparison between planned and actual process is focused in this paper. The analysis procedure consists of five steps : 1) data pre-processing, 2) definition of analysis level, 3) clustering of assembly bocks, 4) discovery of process model per cluster, and 5) comparison between planned and actual processes per cluster. In step 5, it is proposed to compare those processes by the several perspectives such as process model, task, process instance and fitness. For each perspective, we also defined comparison factors. Especially, in the fitness perspective, cross fitness is proposed and analyzed by the quantity of fitness between the discovered process model by own data and the other data(for example, the fitness of planned model to actual data, and the fitness of actual model to planned data). The effectiveness of the proposed methods was verified in a case study using planned data of block assembly planning system (BAPS) and actual data generated from block assembly monitoring system (BAMS) of a top ranked shipbuilding company in Korea.

Conceptualizing the Engagement of Universities in Regional Development in a Knowledge-based Society (지식기반사회에서 대학과 지역발전의 관계: 진화론적 관점)

  • Following the emergence of a knowledge-based economy, the role of universities in regional development has been re-evaluated through considering localized interactive learning processes. This paper tries to identify the role of universities for regional development and the variables effecting on their localized engagement in regional development. We argues that universities cannot be viewed as a single angle, because the behaviors of a university are influenced by the degree of their independence from regional and national governments. Likewise, the contributions of universities to their regional development can be differential depending on the organizational characteristics of individual universities, the social, political, and economical contexts of a given region and nation, and complex relations between and within universities and other regional stakeholders. These variables can be both the drivers and barriers when each university responds to regional needs. Based on the literature review, we suggest that the explanatory factors of shaping the engagement of universities in regional development can be classified into four categories: the characteristics of individual universities, the national context, the local and regional context, and the policy context.

  • The sharing economy is recognized as a new economic system based on the digital service platform, but the sharing economy has yet to be established in Korea due to a lack of social awareness and understanding. There is a need to enhance understanding and awareness of the sharing economy in positive perspective in order to make up business with advanced economies global and explore new markets. In this study, after collecting papers of the sharing economy over the past decade published by each academic field around the world, we reviewed them from academic lens and conducted a comprehensive analysis using meta analysis methodology. Then, we selected papers of MIS field and analyzed the trends of the MIS field research in these papers. As a result we identified the research trend of the sharing economy and the MIS research and drew the necessity of interdisciplinary research between the two studies by examining importance and relevance of MIS research in the sharing economy research. Therefore, we expect that this study contributes to promote interdisciplinary research with neighboring disciplines and to establish a positive social, economical and industrial position in Korea.

'Hongdae Sound' as a Historic Musical Trend Based on Regional Classification: through Comparative Analysis with 'US 8th Army Sound' and 'London Punk' (지역기반 음악사조로서의 '홍대 사운드' : 미8군 사운드와 런던 펑크와의 비교를 중심으로)

  • This study examines musical characteristics of so-called 'Hongdae Sound' as a historic musical trend by comparing with 'US 8th Army Sound' and British 'London Punk'. Hongdae Sound refers to the musical trend that was formed with independent bands and musicians who mostly performed live in the club called 'Drug' in Hongdae area, and voluntarily adopted minor musical sensitivity and indie spirit of 'post-punk rock' genre. But as an industrial standpoint the superficial identity of 'indie' interferes with academic approach when analysing musical aspects of Hongdae Sound. Therefore it is necessary to rearrange its characteristics as the musical trend based on regional classification in order to fully appreciate its status in history of Korean popular music. US 8th Army Sound refers to the musical trend that was played within the live stages in US military bases in Korea. Many hired Korean musicians for those shows were able to learn the current popular musical trend in the States, and to spread those to the general public outside the bases. The industrial system of the Army Sound was very similar to that of K-Pop, but when it comes to leading the newest musical trend of 'rock-n-roll', it had more resemblance to that of Hongdae Sound. London punk was the back-to-basic form of pure rock that was armed with social angst and rebel, indie spirit. Its primal motto was 'do-it-yourself', and Hongdae Sound mostly followed its industrial, musical and spiritual paths. London punk was short-lived because it abandoned its indie spirits and became absorbed to the mainstream. But Hongdae sound maintain its longevity by maintaining the spirit and truthfulness of indie, while endlessly experimenting with new trends.

The Opportunities and Limitations of Building an Innovation Cluster Based on Large Scale Research Facilities: Implications for Developing and Advancing the Korean International Science-Business Belt (거대연구장비 기반 혁신클러스터 건설의 가능성과 한계: 국제과학비즈니스벨트 조성 및 발전을 위한 시사점)

  • This paper examined opportunities and limitations of building an innovation cluster based on large scale research facilities (LSRF). For this purpose, success factors of innovation clusters were drawn from the literature, and categorized into knowledge & technology, transaction cost & agglomeration economies, hardware & software infrastructure, and government policy & strategy. Utilizing the categorization as an analytic framework, case studies of CERN and SPring-8 were performed. The results showed that there were various innovation processes for both cases, creating opportunities for developing innovation clusters in terms of knowledge and technology. On the other hand, in the case of SPring-8, there were disadvantages in the transaction cost and agglomeration economies, being located in a remote area due to the nature of the facility. Software & hardware infrastructure of SPring-8 limited its potential for innovation clusters. Regarding government policy and strategy, CERN, as a multinational institution, did not consider an innovation cluster in a specific region despite some advantages. An innovation cluster around SPring-8 was promoted by government policy despite some disadvantages. In other words, the advantages and disadvantages were enhanced or complemented by software & hardware infrastructure and government policy & strategy. Based on the results, this paper provides the implications for the Korean International Science-Business Belt.

An User Behavior Monitoring Techniques Based Intelligent Agent on the Web (웹 상에서 지능형 에이전트 기반 사용자 행위 모니터링 기법)

  • This paper describes a mechanism and its aspects for monitoring user actions and behaviors on the web operated under the layered architecture that utilizes intelligent agents, and by which personalized information services, for instance one-to-one marketing, is easily facilitated and developed. Intelligent agent is one of techniques which enables to automate the whole process for providing personalized services that includes monitoring, logging a user actions and analyzing behaviors based on his or her profiles, and then selecting, organizing customizable contents which are at last delivered to the users browser or mail box also by intelligent agents. Monitoring technologies can utilize to help better construct the process in providing personalized services in that those services require intelligence in operating. As a result, implementing effective personalized services, however, depends on how well to define various users interests and needs, and how correctly to detect and log the actions when hey are done by users.
