  • The influence of catalytic activity on Fe loading methods over Fe/BEA zeolite catalyst in the simultaneous reduction of $N_2O/NO$ has been studied. The Fe/BEA zeolite catalysts were prepared by ion exchange and impregnation. Catalytic tests were carried out in the selective catalytic reduction using ammonia as a reductant to identify the activity of prepared catalysts. The results show that the ion exchanged catalyst exhibited higher NO and $N_2O$ conversions than the impregnated catalysts did. To investigate the difference in catalytic activity, we performed various analyses such as XRD, $H_2-TPR$, $O_2-TPD$ and XPS. It is considered that the increase in the activity of the ion exchange catalyst is due to improved reducibility and increased oxygen desorption rate. In addition, the ion exchange catalyst was found through the XPS analysis that $Fe^{2+}$, which is related to the catalytic activity, is formed about 1.6 times more than the impregnated catalyst.

  • VWTi, which is used as a commercial catalyst in NH3-SCR, exhibits excellent denitrification performance at 300 to 400 ℃, but there is a problem that efficiency decreases at low temperatures below 300 ℃. Research on catalysts containing promoter to increase low-temperature denitrification efficiency is steadily progressing. However, research on the cause of the improvement in low-temperature denitrification efficiency of the catalyst and the catalyst properties is insufficient. In this study, it was confirmed that by adding Sb to VWTi, denitrification performance was improved by more than 10% in NH3-SCR reaction below 300 ℃. At this time, the space velocity and the size of the catalyst particles were controlled to exclude the influence of external/internal diffusion. In addition, the catalytic properties according to the presence or absence of Sb were investigated by performing BET, TEM/EDS, O2-TPD, H2-TPR and DRIFTs analysis. It was judged that the addition of Sb increased the adsorbed oxygen species on the surface of the catalyst, thereby enhancing the redox properties of the catalyst at low temperature and exhibiting excellent denitrification performance.

  • By varying various experimental conditions such as heating rate, molar hourly space velocity (MHSV), and nitridation reaction temperature, vanadium oxynitride was prepared through temperature programmed reduction/nitridation reaction (TPRN) of vanadium pentoxide and ammonia, and characterization were performed. In order to investigate the physico-chemical properties of the prepared catalyst, N2 adsorption-desorption analysis, X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), hydrogen temperature programmed reduction (H2-TPR), temperature programmed oxidation (TPO), ammonia temperature programmed desorption (NH3-TPD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) was performed. Transformation of V2O5 with 5 m2 g-1 low specific surface area by reduction at 340 ℃ to V2O3 showed a high specific surface area value of 115 m2 g-1 by micropore formation. As the nitridation temperature increased beyond that, the specific surface area continued to decrease due to sintering. The nitridation reaction variable that had the greatest influence on the specific surface area was the reaction temperature, and the x + y value of VNxOy of a single phase approached from 1.5 to 1.0 as the nitridation reaction temperature increased. At a high reaction temperature of 680 ℃, the cubic lattice constant a was VN. close to the value. At 680 ℃, the highest nitridation temperature among the experimental conditions, the ammonia conversion rate was 93%, and no deactivation was observed.

  • In this study, ceria- based catalysts were prepared for dimethyl carbonate (DMC) synthesis and reaction conditions were evaluated for finding the optimal reaction route. In order to find optimal catalysts for DMC synthesis, calcination temperature and Cu(II) impregnation amount were evaluated. The oxidative carbonylation using methanol, carbon monoxide and oxygen and the direct synthesis using methanol and carbon dioxide were introduced for producing DMC. Following the law of Le Chatelier, the dehydration reaction was applied for enhancing the reactivity (methanol conversion) as removing water during the reaction. 2-cyanopyridine, as a chemical dehydration agent, was used. In the case of the oxidative carbonylation, methanol conversion rate increased from 15.1% to 38.7% and the DMC selectivity increased from 0% to 98.8%. In the case of the direct synthesis, methanol conversion rate increased from 1.0% to 77.8% and the DMC selectivity increased from 41.2% to 100.0%.

  • This study investigated the influence of catalyst preparation on the activity of $Co-CeO_2$ catalyst for $N_2O$ decomposition. $Co-CeO_2$ catalysts were synthesized by co-precipitation and incipient wetness impregnation. In order to estimate the performance of the as prepared catalysts, direct catalytic $N_2O$ decomposition test was carried out under $250{\sim}375^{\circ}C$. As a result, the catalyst prepared by co-precipitation (CoCe-CP) showed an enhanced performance on $N_2O$ decomposition reaction even in the presence of $O_2$ and/or $H_2O$, whereas the impregnation catalyst (CoCe-IM) did not. In order to investigate the difference in catalytic activity, characterization such as XRD, BET, TEM, $H_2-TPR$, $O_2-TPD$, and XPS was conducted. It is confirmed that the particle size and specific surface area were changed depending on the catalyst preparation method and the synthesis process influenced the physical properties of the catalysts. In addition, the improvement in the activity of the catalyst prepared by co-precipitation is due to the enhanced reduction from $Co^{3+}$ to $Co^{2+}$ and the improved oxygen desorption rate. However, it has been confirmed that the surface electron state and binding energy, which are related to $N_2O$ decomposition, do not change depending on the preparation method.
