  • As the concerning about Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) is increasing, corporate's expenditure about Corporate Social Responsibility is increasing year and year. As for this, we need the research about the effect of the expenditure about corporate social responsibility on financial performance. So, lot's of empirical researches have been tested in order to prove the relations between Corporate Social Responsibility and Financial Performance. But their results of study different from those of researchers due to the reasons of different methodologies and varieties of variables measuring. Therefore, in this article, setting two hypotheses with sampling 600 corporate firms from 2003 to 2005,first we analyzed financial performance of corporate which is carrying execution into corporate social responsibility and which is not. Second, we analyzed corporate which is carrying execution into corporate social responsibility before and after. In results of this paper, carrying execution into corporate social responsibility affects financial performance badly in short term. That's why we need to study for further more long term periods such as after 5-years or so. And financial performance of corporate which is carrying execution into corporate social responsibility is higher than others, accepting the second hypothesis just as this paper has set.

  • Some spread-effects and their dynamics accruing to regional community from the new location of large firms would be an interesting theme in economic geography On the assumption that all firms not only should. have cooperative relations with their regional communities but also try to realize such cooperations in case of locating their facilities, some rationale for their philanthropic activities will be discussed in this paper. The focus of this paper is on the community contributions or philanthropy which are executed as the non-profit motivated activities of firms. Why and how should firms respond to the growing requirements of their communities, and what type of philanthropic activities could be good for their social behavioral contexts are the questions to be solved in this study. It is possible to get some guidelines of a firm's philanthropy through the comparisons on the practices in the three largest firm.5: Kodak. Dupont, and POSCO.

  • This study analyzes the impact of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities on financial performances using Bayesian Network. The research tries to overcome the issues of the uniform assumption of a linear function between financial performance and CSR activities in multiple regression analysis widely used in previous studies. It is required to infer a causal relationship between activities of CSR which have an impact on the financial performances. Identifying the relationship would empower the firms to improve their financial performance by informing the decision makers about the different CSR activities that influence the financial performance of the firms. This research proposes General Bayesian Network (GBN) and presents Markov Blanket induced from GBN. It is empirically demonstrated that all the proposals presented in this study are statistically significant by the results of the research conducted by Korean Economic Justice Institute (KEJI) under Citizen's Coalition for Economic Justice (CCEJ) which investigated approximately 200 companies in Korea based on Korean Economic Justice Institute Index (KEJI index) from 2005 to 2011. The Bayesian Network to effectively infer the properties affecting financial performances through the probabilistic causal relationship. Moreover, I found that there is a causal relationship among CSR activities variable; that is Environment protection is related to Customer protection, Employee satisfaction, and firm size; Soundness is related to Total CSR Evaluation Score, Debt-Assets Ratio. Though the what-if analysis, I suggest to the sensitive factor among the explanatory variables.

  • This paper analyzes for companies of 2011~2014 the effects of corporate social responsibility on audit efficiency. Using KEJI Index and its individual components which is published by Citizens' Coalition for Economic Justice Institute, this paper analyzes their effects on audit efficiency of audit fees and audit hours. The results of analyses are as followings. First, corporate social responsibility(CSR) composite index did not show any significant relationship between audit fees and audit hours. However, for analyses of the effects of CSR individual components on audit efficiency, variable such as CSR fairness(CSR2), CSR social contribution(CSR3), CSR environmental protection activity(CSR5) have the negative effects on the audit fees and audit time. and CSR customer protection(CSR4), CSR employee satisfaction(CSR6) have the positive effects on the audit fees and audit time. Results suggest that independent auditors may reduce audit risks associated with possible misrepresentation of financial statements for companies with high scores of CSR fairness (CSR2), CSR social contribution(CSR3), and CSR environmental protection activity(CSR5). Also, financial statement auditors may perceive surge of discretionary expenses, and set audit risk high for companies with CSR customer protection(CSR4), and CSR employee satisfaction(CSR6). Together, KEJI Index and its individual components appear to have differential effects on audit efficiency.

  • This research has logically investigated and practically analyzed whether a firm's management ethics affect the firm's performance. The proxy measure of management of ethics is the KEJI Index score, the companies assessed with the KEJI, which is published over 6 years from 2004 to 2009 by the Economic Justice Institutein Korea. According to the analysis results, firstly, management of ethics has a positive effect on the ROA firm performance, which supports the existing research results on that the firms that better manage ethics have a better economic performance. Secondly, we found interaction effects of corporate governance on the relationship between management of ethics and firm's performance. One can say that these results bring a new theoretic perspective academically on the reputation effect through management of ethics, and how it affects the firm's performance. Also in practice, the results show not only how the management of ethics is done just for a social flow in enforcing the management of ethics, but also that it is important to make amendments according to the management of ethics by recognizing it's importance and influence on increasing the firm's performance.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the unique entrepreneurial behavioral attributes of social enterprises that are distinct from for-profit enterprises at the organizational level, derive a social entrepreneurship model that reflects the unique characteristics of social enterprises as strategic decision-making and organizational behavioral tendencies. In order to effectively achieve the purpose of this study, previous studies were reviewed, and qualitative studies were conducted using the grounded theory method based on this. In this study, social entrepreneurship was identified as five sub-factors through a series of analysis processes, and 'Social value orientation; Innovativeness; Pro-activeness; Risk taking; Cooperation orientation' was newly proposed. It also proposed a new social entrepreneurship framework that integrates and explains the multidimensional model of social entrepreneurship by reviewing and connecting the relationships between each sub-factor of the research model. The 'social entrepreneurship framework' classified the social entrepreneurship model into 'pro-social motivation', 'pro-social behavior', and 'entrepreneurial behavior' attributes and explained them by linking them with each sub-factor that constitutes social entrepreneurship. The most remarkable difference between this study and previous studies is that it identified and added 'Cooperation orientation' as a sub-factor constituting social entrepreneurship from the organizational-level behavioral point of view. Through this study, 'Cooperation orientation' was identified as a major behavioral tendency for social enterprises to materialize pro-social motivation, strengthen the economic foundation of business activities, and improve the efficiency of business operations. 'Cooperation orientation' is a major behavioral tendency that strengthens the legitimacy of business activities between pro-social motivation and profit-seeking of social enterprises, improves the performance of social value creation activities, and overcomes the difficulties of resource constraints through cooperation with the outside and improves operational efficiency. In addition, it was confirmed that 'Cooperation orientation' is a major behavioral tendency of social enterprises that is manifested simultaneously in social value-oriented activities and entrepreneurial activities pursuing profit. The 'Cooperation orientation' newly identified in the study supplements the previous research, increases the explanatory power of the theory of social entrepreneurship, and provides the basis for theoretical expansion to subsequent researchers.

Among the sub-factors of social enterprise's economic performance, the re-recognition of the product market had a statistically significant effect on the overall organizational performance of social enterprises. Among the sub-factors of shared value creation. In the future, it will be necessary to make effort to improve corporate performance by introducing the concept of shared value creation for social enterprise and making policy efforts to activate it.

The results of this study are as follows: Innovation and orientation-to-social-value of social entrepreneurship have positive effects on structural capital, and positive influence on cognitive capital and relational capital, but innovation only has no effect. In addition, social entrepreneurship is partially mediated by structural capital. In the mediating effect between social entrepreneurship and cognitive capital, only the risk-taking and the orientation-to-social-value have a partial mediation effect on cognitive capital. However, only the initiative of relational capital was found to have a full mediating effect. And social capital has a positive effect on social performance as a whole. In conclusion, considering that the realization of economic purpose and other social purpose of social enterprises will help to develop and create jobs in the local community, and that they are engaged in business activities in a poor management environment, to provide policy support for inducing high value-added industries through industry-specific collaborations.
