  • In this paper, we consider ring embedding problem on (n,k)-star graphs. We first present a new ring embedding strategy and also prove the superiority in expandability by showing its application into the fault-tolerant ring embedding problem with edge faults. This result can be applied to the multicating applications that use the underlying cycle properties on the multi-computer system.

  • This study investigated the perception of upcycling for sensitive university students in regards to fashion trends. It was conducted through questionnaires delivered to male and female college students who majored in clothing related subjects from June 2012 to June 2013 in Gwangju. The contents for this research are general details, seriousness of environmental resources, awareness of upcycle, and purchasing intention for upcycling products. Most of the respondents said that recycling of resources is absolutely necessary due to the impact of environmental pollution and the consumption of resources. On the contrary, the experience of the respondents which purchased recycling products was low. The awareness of also was low, upcycling, internal upcycling brands and internal consumption groups, however, the decisions for subsequent purchases were positive. The reasons for the unsatisfactory of upcycling of products were due to quality and price. The reaction for many upcycle goods had the best question response rate in daily supplies part; subsequently, this study suggested 3 items, apparel products, fashion accessories, and daily supplies. In addition, a group which contains people who expend more for clothing had a lower awareness of upcycle and purchasing intention than other groups that contained some people who expend less. The results of the study can be used in data that recognize the necessary of upcycle education for university students, and develop educational programs. It can also encourage the purchase of upcycle products that reduce the consumption of resources.

  • In order to show the gap between theory and practice, this paper first gives some experimental results for theoretical and real neighbor sets on a test-bed sensor network. The results prove that existing management protocols (e.g., duty-cycling, routing or aggregation) based on the theoretical communication radius cannot achieve their original goal, efficiency. In this paper, we present a practical duty-cycling mechanism based on the real neighbor set, allowing for energy-efficiency. It also guarantees to suppress duplicated transmissions of sensing values with similarity within a specific threshold in each zone (i.e., a portion of intended divided network). Simulation results performed with a set of real sensor data show that our mechanism increases the network life time while guaranteeing the transmission of necessary sensing values.

  • Magnesium is the third most abundant structural metal after aluminum and iron. Magnesium is the lightest metal in the common metals. It has a density 33 % less than aluminum and 77% lower than steel. However, the primary magnesium production process is highly energy intensive. The recycling of magnesium scrap reduces the energy consumption and environmental burden, comparing to the primary metal production. However, the amount of recovered metal from scrap is limited because of the difficulties to remove the impurities in the scrap. This work provides an overview of the magnesium production and recycling process.
