  • 최근 한국정보통신기술협회(TTA)에서는 지상파 DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) ECG(Electronic Content Guide) XML(eXtensible Markup Language) 표준의 제정 및 개정 작업을 완료하였다. 지상파 DMB ECG XML 표준은 종래의 DMB EPG(Electronic Program Guide) 표준에서 제공되었던 서비스를 기능적으로 수용하면서 프로그램내의 특정 세그먼트 단위까지 검색 및 브라우징을 통하여 원하는 콘텐트를 보다 효율적으로 접근, 소비 및 저장이 가능하도록 하는 향상된 서비스를 제공하도록 정의하였다. 또한, 단일 포맷에서 모든 DMB 콘텐트 내용들을 결합하는 DMB AF(ISO/IEC 23000-9:2008; DMB Application Format) 파일 포맷을 포함하고 있다. 한국전자통신연구원에서는 이러한 지상파 DMB ECG XML 표준 및 서비스의 유효성 검증을 위해 메타데이터의 저작 단계에서 전송 및 단말에 이르는 맞춤시청형 방송 시스템을 개발하였다. 이러한 일련의 과정에서 DMB ECG 메타데이터는 맞춤시청형 서비스 제공을 위해 전달되는 핵심 요소로써, 디지털방송 콘텐트에 대한 상세 정보의 기술을 위해 새로운 메타데이터를 생성하거나 기존에 생성된 메타데이터를 재편집하는 과정을 효과적으로 수행하기 위한 메타데이터 저작도구가 필수적으로 필요하다. 본 논문은 사용자 친화적인 DMB ECG 메타데이터 및 DMB AF 저작도구의 개발에 대해 기술한다.

Development and Application of the Assessment System of TBM Tunnelling Procedure (TBM 터널 공정 분석시스템의 개발 및 적용)

  • Four assessment systems for planning and evaluation of TBM tunnelling are discussed, and their characteristics and input data are analyzed. Two of the systems are determined to be adequate for post-evaluation of TBM performance because the time, such as repair time, downtime, installation time and transport time, must be included for calculations. The others are adequate for pre-planning because the basic data of the systems consist of only the basic properties of rocks and rock masses, and the specification of TBM. In order to apply these assessment systems, a number of equations, graphs and charts are generally required, which seems to be very inconvenient and complicated. In this study, therefore, a user-friendly program operated on Windows system is developed, and each system can be selected by the corresponding input data. It will be possible fer tunnel engineers to select a system according to their objectives and available input data, and to apply the system to TBM tunnel project.

  • Nowadays, the more complicated the society become, the more spreaded individualism is. Moreover, since a number of old people living alone are increasing, human friendly robots for home entertainments are required. Conventional home robots having same behavior for a user's order can't give us funny. In this paper, a robot system based on emotion model for home entertainments is proposed. The proposed system has various behavior for a same order depending on the emotional state such as happy, angry, lovely and joyful grades.

Development and Efficacy Validation of an ICF-Based Chatbot System to Enhance Community Participation of Elderly Individuals with Mild Dementia in South Korea (우리나라 경도 치매 노인의 지역사회 참여 증진을 위한 ICF 기반 Decision Tree for Chatbot 시스템 개발과 효과성 검증)

  • This study focuses on the development and evaluation of a chatbot system based on the International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF) framework to enhance community participation among elderly individuals with mild dementia in South Korea. The study involved 12 elderly participants who were living alone and had been diagnosed with mild dementia, along with 15 caregivers who were actively involved in their daily care. The development process included a comprehensive needs assessment, system design, content creation, natural language processing using Transformer Attention Algorithm, and usability testing. The chatbot is designed to offer personalized activity recommendations, reminders, and information that support physical, social, and cognitive engagement. Usability testing revealed high levels of user satisfaction and perceived usefulness, with significant improvements in community activities and social interactions. Quantitative analysis showed a 92% increase in weekly community activities and an 84% increase in social interactions. Qualitative feedback highlighted the chatbot's user-friendly interface, relevance of suggested activities, and its role in reducing caregiver burden. The study demonstrates that an ICF-based chatbot system can effectively promote community participation and improve the quality of life for elderly individuals with mild dementia. Future research should focus on refining the system and evaluating its long-term impact.

Development of Haplotype Reconstruction System Using Public Resources (공개용 리소스를 활용한 Haplotype 재조합 시스템 개발)

  • Haplotype-based research has become increasingly important in the field of personalized medicine since the haplotype reflects a set of SNPs (Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms) that are genetically associated and inherited together. Currently, the most widely used application softwares available for haplotype reconstruction, based on in silico method, include PL-EM, Haplotyper, PHASE and HAP. PL-EM, Haplotyper and PHASE are command-line application running on LINUX or Unix system and HAP is a web-based client-server application. This paper deals with an integrated haplotype reconstruction system that have been developed with PL-EM and Haplotyper selected from the accuracy test with experimentally verified data on public application softwares. This integrated system is a kind of client-sever one with user friendly web interface and can provide end-users with a high quality of haplotype analysis. SNPs genotype data with a length of 5 derived from 5 people and SNPs genotype data with a length of 13 derived from 15 people were used to test the analysis results of Haplotyper and PL-EM respectively. As a result, this system has been confirmed to provide the systematic and easy-to-understand analysis results that consist of two main parts, i.e. individual haplotype information and haplotype pool information. In this respect, the integration system will be utilized as a useful tool for the discovery of disease related genes and the development of personalized drugs through facilitating the reconstruction of haplotype maps.

  • Recently, Virtual reality parts is applied in various fields of industry. In this paper we got under control motion of reality robot from interface manipulation in the virtual world. This paper created virtual robot using of 3D Graphic Tool. And we reappeared a similar image with reality robot put on texture the use of components of Direct 3D Graphic. Also a reality robot and a virtual robot is controlled by joystick. The developed robot consists of robot controller with vision system and host PC program. The robot and camera can move with 2 degree of freedom by independent remote controlling a user friendly designed joystick. An environment is recognized by the vision system and ultra sonic sensors. The visual mage and command data translated through 900MHz and 447MHz RF controller, respectively. If user send robot control command the use of simulator to control the reality robot, the transmitter/recever got under control until 500miter outdoor at the rate of 4800bps a second in Hlaf Duplex method via radio frequency module useing 447MHz frequency.

A Study on Hand Gesture Recognition with Low-Resolution Hand Images (저해상도 손 제스처 영상 인식에 대한 연구)

  • Recently, many human-friendly communication methods have been studied for human-machine interface(HMI) without using any physical devices. One of them is the vision-based gesture recognition that this paper deals with. In this paper, we define some gestures for interaction with objects in a predefined virtual world, and propose an efficient method to recognize them. For preprocessing, we detect and track the both hands, and extract their silhouettes from the low-resolution hand images captured by a webcam. We modeled skin color by two Gaussian distributions in RGB color space and use blob-matching method to detect and track the hands. Applying the foodfill algorithm we extracted hand silhouettes and recognize the hand shapes of Thumb-Up, Palm and Cross by detecting and analyzing their modes. Then, with analyzing the context of hand movement, we recognized five predefined one-hand or both-hand gestures. Assuming that one main user shows up for accurate hand detection, the proposed gesture recognition method has been proved its efficiency and accuracy in many real-time demos.

  • In this paper, we propose a new 3D PUI(Physical User Interface) system in which the index fingertip points and moves a mouse position on a given monitor screen. There are two 3D PUI schemes to control smart devices like smart TVs remotely, the relative pointing one and the absolute pointing one. The former has a problem in that it does not match the human perception process, and the latter requires excessive movement of the body. We combined the relative one and the absolute one, and develop a new intuitive and user-friendly pointing method, 3D PUI. It requires an establishment of a pyramid shape visible area (view volume) to point a mouse position on a screen with the dominant eye. In order to maintain the real-time view volume, however, it requires large computation depending on the movement of the dominant eye. We optimized the computation of the view volume in which it determines the internal and external position on the screen. In addition, Kalman filter is applied with tracing of the mouse pointer position to stabilize the trembling of the pointer and offers the user ease of use.

  • Tn this paper, We propose a user friendly object-based multimedia retrieval system using the HCNN(HippoCampus Neural Network. Most existing approaches to content-based retrieval rely on query by example or user based low-level features such as color, shape, texture. In this paper we perform a scene change detection and key frame extraction for the compressed video stream that is video compression standard such as MPEG. We propose a method for automatic color object extraction and ACE(Adaptive Circular filter and Edge) of content-based multimedia retrieval system. And we compose multimedia retrieval system after learned by the HCNN such extracted features. Proposed HCNN makes an adaptive real-time content-based multimedia retrieval system using excitatory teaming method that forwards important features to long-term memories and inhibitory learning method that forwards unimportant features to short-term memories controlled by impression.

  • 용접은 산업계의 기계 조립 및 접합을 위한 공정의 주요한 작업으로 조선, 중공업, 건설 등 산업현장에서 사람에 의한 수동적인 작업으로 대부분 수행된다. 이러한 용접 작업을 수행하는 용접 기술자는 산업 현장 훈련원과 직업 교육 학교에서 양성되지만 용접 훈련 과정은 실습 초보자에게 위험하고, 장시간 교육하기에 어려울 뿐 아니라 재료 낭비, 의사 소통의 한계, 즉석 결과 평가의 한계, 공간부족 등 다양한 문제가 있다. 그러므로, 안전하고 반복적인 실습 환경 제공하고 장시간 및 다수 교육참여 지원 등이 가능한 시스템을 구축하여 숙련된 우수 인력 조기 확보와 훈련 비용을 절감할 필요가 있다. 본 논문에서는 실제와 동일한 상호작용을 제공할 뿐만 아니라 고품질로 훈련 환경을 가시화하여 용접 상황을 동일하게 모사하는 가상 현실 기반 용접 훈련 시뮬레이터를 제시한다. 이 시스템은 용접의 형상과 환경의 고품질 가시화, 경험 DB를 통한 용접의 비드 형상 데이터 획득, 용접 토치를 이용하는 사용자 상호작용, 용접 훈련 결과 평가 및 최적 작업 가이드, 용접 콘텐츠 저작, 다양한 용접 훈련을 가시화하는 하드웨어 플랫폼으로 구성된다. 고품질 가상 용접 가시화는 경험 DB 기반 비드 형상 데이터와 신경회로망을 이용한 비드 형상 예측을 통해 실시간 비드 표현이 이루어지며 쉐이더 기반 고품질 모재 및 비드 표현, 아크 불꽃 효과 표현을 포함한다. 사용자 상호작용은 현장 작업 도구와 일치된 토치 인터페이스와 위치추적을 이용하여 토치의 작업각, 진행각, 속도, 거리 등을 반영할 수 있으며 진동과 소리 등 용접 훈련의 사실적 상호작용도 재현하였다. 용접 훈련 평가 및 최적 작업 가이드는 훈련자의 용접속도, 거리, 각도 등의 사용자 작업 결과를 그래픽으로 표현하고, 애니메이션을 통한 훈련 자세를 추후 분석할 수 있도록 하였고, 가상토치, 기준선, 수치계기 등을 이용한 최적 작업 훈련 가이드 제시하였다. 훈련 콘텐츠 저작은 메뉴UI 기반으로 용접의 전류, 전압 등의 조건과 상황을 선택하도록 제시하였고, 하드웨어 플랫폼은 워크벤치형 입체 디스플레이 방식으로 용접 환경을 가시화하였고, 위, 정면, 아래보기 등 다양한 용접 자세 변경을 지원 할 수 있도록 구축하였다. 이러한 가상현실 기반 훈련 시뮬레이터는 아크열 발생에 따른 장시간 훈련의 어려움을 극복할 수 있고, 다양한 실습 환경을 바꾸어 가며 반복적인 훈련이 가능하고, 실 재료를 사용하지 않아 재료의 낭비를 줄일 수 있는 환경 친화적인 안전하고 효율적인 훈련 실습 환경을 제공할 수 있다.
