  • Internet of Things technology is rapidly developing due to the recent development of information and communication technology. IoT technology utilizes various sensors to generate unique data from each sensor, enabling diagnosis of system status. However, the equipment management system currently in effect is a post-preservation concept in which administrators must deal with the problem after the problem occurs, which could mean system reliability and availability problems due to system errors, and could result in economic losses due to negative productivity disruptions. Therefore, this study confirmed that edge controller control decision algorithms for more efficient operation of rectifiers in the factory by applying intelligent IoT (AIoT) technology and domain knowledge-based modeling for each sensor data collected based on this, outputting appropriate status messages for each scenario.

  • Recently, the frequency and range of algae occurrence in major rivers and lakes are increasing due to the increase in water temperature due to climate change, the inflow of excessive nutrients, and changes in the river environment. Abnormal algae include green algae and red algae. Green algae is a phenomenon in which blue-green algae such as chlorophyll (Chl-a) in the water grow excessively and the color of the water changes to dark green. In this study, a 3D virtual world of digital twin was built to monitor and control water quality information measured in ecological rivers and lakes in the living environment in real time from a remote location, and a sensor measuring device for water quality information based on the Internet of Things (IOT) sensor. We propose to build a smart water environment service platform that can provide algae warning and water quality forecasting by predicting the causes and spread patterns of water pollution such as algae based on AI machine learning-based collected data analysis.

  • Recently, MTC (Machine Type Communication) is known as an important part to support IoT (Internet of Things) applications. MTC provides network connectivities between MTC devices without human intervention. In MTC, a large number of devices try to access over communication resource with a short period of time. Due to the limited communication resource, resource contention becomes severe and it brings about access failures of devices. To solve the problem, it needs to regulate device accesses. In this paper, we present an efficient access management scheme. We measure the number of devices which try to access in a certain time period and predict the change of the number of devices in the next time period. Using the predicted change, we control the number of devices which try to access. To verify our scheme, we conduct experiments in terms of success probability, failure probability, collision probability and access delay.

  • As understanding sudden climate change and agricultural productivity becomes increasingly important due to global warming, soil moisture prediction is emerging as a key topic in agriculture. Soil moisture has a significant impact on crop growth and health, and proper management and accurate prediction are key factors in improving agricultural productivity and resource management. For this reason, soil moisture prediction is receiving great attention in agricultural and environmental fields. In this paper, we collected and analyzed open field environmental data using a pilot field through random forest, a machine learning algorithm, obtained the correlation between data characteristics and soil moisture, and compared the actual and predicted values of soil moisture. As a result of the comparison, the prediction rate was about 92%. It was confirmed that the accuracy was . If soil moisture prediction is carried out by adding crop growth data variables through future research, key information such as crop growth speed and appropriate irrigation timing according to soil moisture can be accurately controlled to increase crop quality and improve productivity and water management efficiency. It is expected that this will have a positive impact on resource efficiency.

  • In December 2014, Livestock and Livestock Products Traceability Act was established, allowing consumers to receive livestock traceability information. While the Livestock Traceability System provides consumers with transparent and fair information about their food, it has brought increased workload and penalty burdens to stakeholders in the livestock industry. In this paper, we propose an IoT system for inventory management based on traceability numbers to enable sellers to conveniently provide livestock traceability information to consumers. We analyzed the protocol for managing data from electronic scales and conducted functional testing and verification on mobile devices. Furthermore, we implemented the design and system functionality, taking into account UI/UX on Android OS-based devices to synchronize and interconnect traceability and product information with electronic scales. We anticipate that the proposed approach will minimize user inconvenience and raise production efficiency in the existing market.
