A Study on the Korea Welfare Programs for the Social Minority : Focusing on the Welfare Programs by Regions (사회적 약자를 위한 복지 프로그램에 대한 분석: 지역별 프로그램들을 중심으로)

  • The aim of this study is to analyze the domestic and international trends and cases of welfare programs for the social minority to provide implications for policy development. This study examined the trends of Community Care in the UK and Local Governance in Japan as overseas policy trends. In addition, along with the trend of welfare programs provided for the social minority in each region in Korea, as a domestic cases, case of Bucheon city as a case of gender policy, Daejeon city as a case of palate policy for the disabled, and Seongdong-gu, Seoul as a case of policy for children are analyzed. As implications obtained through this analysis, it was suggested that at the regional level, the demand survey appropriate to the situation of the region and the connection with the cooperative entities in various regions are important.

A Case Analysis of Program Outcomes Assessment Systems for Engineering Education Accreditation of South Korea and USA (한국과 미국의 프로그램 학습성과 평가체계 사례분석)

  • This study aimed to seek the ways of improving program outcomes assessment systems for engineering education accreditation of South Korea through performing comparative analysis on those of the United States. Case-study research method was implemented to achieve the research goal. Five university programs, which have been well recognized as good practices in engineering education accreditation in the United States, were selected and analyzed. In addition, those of three universities in South Korea were chosen for comparative analysis, which were reformed by university affiliated Engineering Education Innovative Centers. The analysis results indicated that there were differences in each program's program outcomes, assessment level of program outcomes, evaluation methods on program outcomes achievement, and analysis and improvement records. It was drawn up that the evaluation methods on program outcomes achievement should be paid full attention. For better program outcomes assessment system, however, the followings are in more attention. Firstly, to establish program outcomes reflecting program goal. Secondly, to set up the detailed plans for analysis and quality improvement on program outcomes. Thirdly, to keep continuing efforts on curriculum update.

Serial Change of Blood Pressure Level of Hypertensive Patients admitted to the Case Management Program (고혈압 사례관리 프로그램 참여자에 대한 혈압수준의 경시적 변화)

  • The purpose of this study was to confirm the effect by case management program and durability of the effect, which targeted on the 250(101 men and 149 women) people who had undergone hypertensive patients case management program through the National Health Insurance Corporation from May 1. 2007 to June 30. 2007. In order to evaluate the effect of case management and durability, the study was examined just before the case management, right after case management, after 6 months and after 12 months through classifying case management 1(Group I) and case management 2(Group II). As a result, the participants' blood pressure level in the hypertensive patients case management improved just after the case management compare to just before one. but it had a tendency to increase once more after 6 months and 12 months case management. In addition, it was confirmed to maintain the effect by the case management in Group II compare to Group I.

A Study on the Effectiveness of Strengths-based Case Management for the Elderly (재가노인 대상 강점관점 사례관리의 효과성 연구)

  • This study attempted to: (1) operate a Strengths-based case management program; (2) determine the effectiveness of strengths-based case management for the elderly; (3) evaluate the effect of the coordinating program on the capabilities of ADL, IADL, and life-satisfaction of the elderly. The subject of this study was 8 home-bound elderly in lowest income class in Gwang-ju City. The program was practiced from November 2008 to April 2009 for 6 months period. The outcome of study has shown that strengths-based case management has determined a fair of amount of effectiveness in carrying out their short-term tasks. The program tried to assess the strengths of the elderly, and evaluate the outcomes of the program using ADL, IADl items and life-satisfaction developed for the study. The data collected by pre-test and post-test of the program showed that the scores of life-satisfaction were improved statistically significantly. But capabilities of ADL, IADL items were slightly improved, but not statistically significant. Successive effort to operate strengths-based case management must be required for the improvement of capabilities of ADL, IADL, and quality of life of the elderly.

메사추세츠 주의 그린빌딩 프로그램

  • 최근 많은 미국 주정부에서는 재생 전기를 지원할 클린에너지기금을 조성하였다. 이 기금을 현재까지 조성했던 15개 주정부에서는 재생에너지 투자에 대해 1998년에서 2012년까지 35억달러를 조성할 예정이다. 이와 같은 현상은 재생에너지를 위한 진취적인 주정부에게는 새로운 경향이지만, 이 기금들의 초기경험을 보고하고, 공유하려는 노력은 거의 없었다. 클린에너지그룹과 제휴하고 있는 Berkeley 연구실은 이러한 클린에너지 기금의 사용에 대해 보고할 사례 연구를 시작했다. 이 연구의 주요한 목적은 정보의 추가적인 원천을 강조하고, 연락처를 확인하기 위해 주정부의(그리고 몇몇의 국제적인 사례) 클린에너지기름의 혁신적인 프로그램과 관리적인 실제에 대해 간단히 보고한다. 우리의 바람은 이 사례 연구가 새로이 확립된 클린에너지기금의 관리자들에게 유용하고, 신규로 클론에너지기금의 조성하려는 선봉적인 재생에너지 노력에 대한 학습에 관심을 가진 기금관리인에게 도움이 될 것이다라는 것이다. 새로운 몇 개의 사례 연구가 매년 추진될 것이다. 이번에 소개하는 사례는 매사추세츠 주정부의 그린빌딩프로그램으로 그린학교와 그린빌딩을 지원하기 위한 것이다(미 에너지부의 선도적인 클린에너지 기금 연구 보고서 중에서 발췌)

Case Study on the Gifted Education Program of Columbia Public Schools in Missouri (미국 초등 영재교육 프로그램의 사례 연구 -미주리 주 콜롬비아 시의 EEE-)

  • This study is focused on the gifted education program, "EEE" of Columbia Public Schools in Missouri. This program is recommended to follow NAGC Pre-K-Grade 12 Gifted programming standards(NAGC, 2010) and Missouri school laws(MDESE, 2012b), but is allowed to run autonomically without any support in a federal or state level. The characteristics of EEE are as follows: ${\cdot}$ emphasizing not only on the cognitive development but also on the social and affective/emotional development of the gifted students ${\cdot}$ encouraging each student's own interest by allowing him/her to select his/her major and minor ${\cdot}$ the variety of classes ${\cdot}$ the call-up class - discriminating from regular classes ${\cdot}$ the interdisciplinary approach - connecting many subjects around the main idea ${\cdot}$ the activity-based learning such as hands-on activities, projects, and simple experiments ${\cdot}$ using the individual activity as well as pair or group activity In special, this paper also contains an example of program about mathematics and suggests some implications for gifted education programs in Korea.

  • 본 연구에서는 명지전문대학에서 시행되고 다양한 학습지원 프로그램을 프로그래밍 언어 수업에 적용하여 운영하였던 사례를 제시하고 학습자 의견 및 만족도를 조사하였다. 학습지원 프로그램의 참여는 자발적으로 이루졌으며, 분석 결과 전반적으로 학습자들은 학습지원 프로그램에 대해 만족하는 것으로 나타났고, 참여 학습자 그룹의 성적이 비참여 학습자 그룹보다 좋은 것으로 나타나 학습지원 프로그램이 학습에 도움이 됨을 알 수 있었다. 또한 참여 프로그램에 따라 학습자들의 참여 목적과 참여를 통해 얻은 좋은 점은 다른 것으로 나타났고 비참여 학습자들의 참여하지 않은 이유가 프로그램 운영 환경과 관련이 있는 것으로 나타나 학습지원 프로그램의 효과적인 활용을 위해서는 학습자의 학습 목적에 따라 참여 프로그램을 제안할 필요가 있음을 알 수 있었다.
