Adapt ive beamforming technique with variable forgetting factor in moving jammer environments (이동 jammer 환경에 대응할 수 있는 가변 망각 인자 적응 빔형성 기법)

  • 지금까지 수중음향 시스템에서 jammer 신호를 제거하는 방법에 관한 많은 연구가 진행되어 왔다. 그러나, 기존의 빔형성 기법은 간섭 신호원(interference source)이 움직일 경우 그 성능이 현저히 떨어지는 문제점을 갖고 있다. 이러한 현상은 수중 음향 시스템이 간섭 신호원의 움직임에 대하여 즉각적으로 null의 위치를 변화시키지 못하기 때문에 발생하게 된다. 이를 해결하기 위해서는 시간에 따라 위치가 변하는 jammer 환경에 대하여 대응할 수 있는 새로운 알고리즘이 필요하게 된다. 이러한 단점을 보완하기 위해 본 논문에서는 가변 망각인자를 갖는 적응 빔형성 기법을 제안하고, 컴퓨터 모의실험을 통하여 제안된 알고리즘이 기존의 적응 빔형성 기법에 비하여 출력 SINR(signal to interference plus noise ratio)의 측면에서 성능 향상을 가짐을 보였다.

Adaptive Coordinated Tx-Rx Beamforming for Multi-user MIMO Systems (다중 사용자 MIMO 시스템을 위한 적응적 Coordinated Tx-Rx 빔형성 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose an adaptive coordinated Tx-Rx beamforming scheme for inter-user interference cancellation, when a BS communicates with multiple users that each has multiple receive antenna. The conventional coordinated Tx-Rx beamforming scheme uses a fixed multi-stream per user regardless of the instantaneous channel states, that is, both user with ill-conditioned and well-conditioned channels have the same number of data streams. However, in the proposed adaptive coordinated Tx-Rx beamforming scheme, we select the number of streams per user to solve the inefficient problem of the conventional coordinated Tx-Rx beamforming. As a result of applying the adaptive coordinated Tx-Rx beamforming scheme, the BER performance is improved. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the conventional coordinated Tx-Rx beamforming algorithm by 2.5dB at a target BER of $10^{-2}$.

On The Performance of a Hybrid Mode Beamforming in A Two-Cell System (두 셀 시스템 환경에서 하이브리드 모드 빔형성 성능에 대한 연구)

  • In this paper, hybrid mode beamforming (HMB) which allows simultaneous transmission of joint beamforming and disjoint beamforming is proposed. HMB is proven to be asymptotically optimal beamforming for sum rate growth. Extensive simulations show that HMB achieves nearly the same performance as joint encoding (JE) in symmetric interference channel. It is also shown that it outperforms JE in a more realistic asymmetric interference channel environment, though it still experiences some performance degradation due to power inefficiency of joint beamforming in asymmetric channel.

  • In this paper, we present a switched beamforming RFID reader and propose a convenient shopping system using it. The smart gate with the switched beamforming RFID reader(s) improves tag detection probability, tag false alarm probability, automatic detection functionality of shopping system compared to existing RFID based systems. The proposed system consists of a smart gate to read and verify the tags within cart, a check-out counter to approve customer purchase, and a central server to manage inventory & delivery and to analyze customer purchase trend. The proposed shopping system is more practical, convenient, and cost-effective to A/S than existing RFID shopping systems.

  • This paper is an analysis the performance of CDMA system using array antenna beamforming technique in wireless channels. Adaptive array beamforming antenna technique combine receive signal amplitude with phase in array antenna element, and can be incremental spatial filter function a direction of arrival signal using weight value. Through simulation, in this paper, we were an analysis to compare bit error rate of forward and backward channels using array antenna beamforming technique in order to interference signal decrease of CDMA fading enviroment. The result simulation, we get spatial diversity effect by using array antenna system, and improved the performance to MAI interference decrease.

  • In this paper, an efficient direction-r)f-arrival based adaptive beamforming algorithm for orthogonal frequency-division multiple-access smart antenna systems is proposed. The proposed algorithm provides a high performance by steering main beams to the directions of a desired signal, whereas steering nulls to the directions of the interference, using the estimated directions. The beamforming outputs obtained by steering the main beams to the distinct directions of resolvable multipath signals are combined in a maximal ratio manner to exploit angular diversity gain. The performance elf the proposed algorithm is finally evaluated in cellular mobile environments to verify its efficiency and is compared with that of least-squares beamforming algorithm, by taking the WiBro system as a target system.

  • 셀룰러 시스템에서 언제 어디서나 높은 품질의 서비스를 제공하기에 가장 큰 걸림돌로 지적되는 문제점 중의 하나가 바로 셀간 간섭으로 인한 성능 저하이다. 따라서, 간섭으로 인해 셀 경계에서 발생하는 성능 저하를 해결하는 것은 차세대 통신시스템 설계에서 핵심적 요소 중 하나이며, 셀의 소형화를 통해 대역 효율성을 높이고자 하는 시도와 맞물려 더욱 중요한 이슈로 부각되고 있다. 본고는 간섭을 제어하는 수단으로 다중안테나를 이용한 셀간 협력 방식인 협력 빔형성(cooperative beamforming) 방식을 살펴보고, 최근의 연구와 LTE-Advanced 표준에서의 협력 기술인 CoMP (coordinated multipoint transmission and reception)를 함께 소개한다.

Mode Selection Technique Between Antenna Grouping and Beamforming for MIMO Communication Systems (다중 입출력 시스템에서 안테나 그룹화와 빔 형성 사이의 모드 선택 기법)

  • Antenna grouping algorithm is hybrid of beamforming and spatial multiplexing. In antenna grouping system, we partition $N_t$ transmit antennas into $N_r$ groups and use beamforming in a group, spatial multiplexing between groups. We can transmit $N_r$ data streams in the $N_t{\times}N_r$ antenna grouping system. With antenna grouping, we can achieve diversity gain through beamforming, and high spectral efficiency through spatial multiplexing. But if channel is ill-conditioned or there are some correlations between antennas, the performance of antenna grouping is seriously degraded and in that case, beamforming is the best transmit strategy. By selecting the antenna grouping mode when channel is well-conditioned and by selecting the beamforming mode when channel is ill-conditioned, we can prevent serious fluctuation of BER performance caused by varying channel condition and achieve the best BER performance. In this paper, we investigate mode selection algorithm which can select antenna grouping mode or beamforming mode. we also propose a simple mode selection criterion.

Reduced Feedback Beamforming with a Large Antenna Array in Wireless Backhaul Downlink Systems (거대 배열 안테나 무선 백홀 하향 링크 시스템에서 피드백 량을 줄이기 위한 빔 형성 방법)

  • In this paper, we propose 2-stage beamformer with linear receiver in wireless backhaul downlink system where macro base station has large antenna array with sub-array structure. Also, to compare the system capacity, we apply 3-stage beamformer with zero-forcing precoder and calculate the achievable sum rate of received small cell base stations. Considering scattering and path-loss property of wireless backhaul channel, we combine precoding technique for spatial multiplexing and beamforming technique to overcome path-loss. Therefore, we design DFT-based fixed beam patterns for the first stage. The simulation results show that considering spatial multiplexing, proposed 2-stage beamformer with linear receiver can increase the achievable sum rate as well as reduce the feedback information.

  • In this paper, the new technique combing power control with Pre-FFT beamforming is proposed for MIMO(multi-input multi-output)-OFDM(orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) system. As combining the proposed power control with beamforming, we can iteratively control the transmittingpower and update the weight of beamformer together. And then, the beam is formed toward the desired direction and SNIR of each subcarrier is converged to target SNIR. Therefore, the performance of MIMO-OFDM system is very improved. BER performance improvement of the proposed approach is investigated through computer simulation by combining power allocation algorithm with MIMO-OFDM system using Pre-FFT beamformer
