Business model innovation strategy for sustainable value creation in corporation (기업의 지속적인 가치창출을 위한 비즈니스 모델 혁신 전략에 대한 연구)

  • Business model innovation creates differentiated value to customers by transforming various elements of doing business. Rather than focusing singularly on either the external or internal environment, the business model innovation aims to identify the optimal combination of internal resources, competence, and the external factors, such as customer's needs and new opportunity. However, due to lack of clear definition of business model innovation, and inability to generate company's core business model, business model innovation has been difficult for companies to lead next growth. This paper reviews existing definitions of business model innovation and explore existing types of business model innovation and timing of business model innovation through two case studies. Concept of business model innovation which we identify, is composed of value proposition, value creation through value chains and networks, and profit model innovation. Finally, we demonstrates that already successful businesses can also create new values through business model innovation and adaptive advantage, even in a rapidly changing market environment.

  • 유비쿼터스 환경은 조직의 구조와 개인의 행위를 변화시킬 뿐만 아니라 기업의 경쟁 패러다임 자체를 변화시킬 것으로 전망하고 있다. 또한 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅의 기술이 경영경제, 행정, 교육, 문화, 의료등 사회 전반에 걸쳐 도입되고 있으며, 이에 따른 비즈니스 모델에 대한 중요성이 증대되고 있다. 기술에 관련된 RFID, USN, 표준화, 보안등에 대한 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있으나, 비즈니스 모델에 관련된 연구는 미흡한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅에 대해 알아보고 비즈니스 모델 사례 검토를 통해 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 시대의 비즈니스 모델과 발전 방향 및 혁신 전략을 제시하고자 한다.

A Comparative Study on Innovation Tools for the Development of Business Models by the Types of Convergence (컨버전스유형별 비즈니스모델 개발을 위한 혁신도구 비교 연구)

  • This study is a comparatively analyzes innovation tools for developing appropriate business models according to the types of convergence. Firstly, it examines previous studies on the type of convergence, business models, and innovation tools. Based on the understanding of each topic through literature search, it introduces Convergence-Business-Innovation Tools Cube (CBI Cube) model with the concept of developing innovative business models by applying innovation tools under the condition of convergence. In order to quantify (concretize) the concept, we have compared the relative priority of innovation tools for developing business models to find component factors of CBI Cube model through the survey of an expert group by adopting DelPhi method and AHP method. From the result of this study, we expect to be able to make an easier approach to the development of innovative products, services and market as it allo ws to develop business models of value innovation beyond just benchmarking or simple imitation of existing business models.

A Study on the Effect of Internal Resources and Business model Innovation of Venture Enterprises on Industrial Property Performance (벤처기업의 내부 자원과 비즈니스모델 혁신성이 산업재산 성과에 미치는 영향 연구)

  • This study tried to understand the effect of internal resources, capabilities, and business model innovation of venture enterprises on industrial property performance, as based on previous studies that securing industrial property rights has a positive effect on the technology commercialization of venture companies. Venture company capabilities were classified into intrinsic elements of a company (company's research resources) and creative elements (commercialization capabilities) that implement them, and they were intended to show that they could lead to a company's potential competitiveness through innovation in business models. In order to verify this research purpose, an empirical analysis was conducted on 1,733 corporate companies among venture confirmation companies subject to the 2019 venture company precision survey. It was confirmed that the systematic research organization and commercialization capabilities of venture companies were significant (+) in industrial property performance. However, in the final research model that applied both the rules of the business model's innovation variable, commercialization capability and business model innovation were significant (-), and research organization × business model innovation showed significant results (+). This means that venture companies' excellent resources and capabilities can have a positive impact on industrial property performance individually, but when applying the level of innovation in the actual business model, they must interact with the business model. The results of this study are meaningful in that it is necessary to pursue business model innovation that secures clear differentiators compared to competitors as well as strengthening the company's internal resources and capabilities to secure industrial assets and innovation growth.

A Comparative Study on Analytical Tools of Business Model (비즈니스 모델 분석도구에 관한 비교연구)

  • The purpose of this paper is to highlight the importance of the use of two analytical tools to the business and the academic world. The 'business model canvas' originally developed by Osterwalder and Pigneur(2010) consists of 9 building blocks, and provides an overview of the business model in a single page. The '10 types of innovation model' presented in Keeley et al.(2013), shows the framework and cases for innovating business model. Two tools contain the whole components of business model from value proposition, value creation, value delivery to value capture. Two tools, however can not provide much new idea for managers to improve the existing business model. Developing various business model cases and innovative business model archetypes are needed.

B2B (vs. B2C) 비즈니스 모델 혁신이 혁신성과에 미치는 상대적 효과

  • 본 연구는 B2B (business-to-business) 비즈니스 모델 혁신(business model innovation, BMI)이 B2C (business-to-consumer) 비즈니스 모델 혁신 대비 혁신성과에 미치는 상대적 효과를 실증적으로 검증하고자 한다. BMI의 하위요인을 가치창출(value creation), 가치제안(value proposition), 가치획득(value capture)으로 나누어 각각의 요인 간의 관계를 구체적으로 분석한다. 본 연구는 실증분석을 위해 2022년 기업가정신 실태조사(기업편) DB의 3,120개 기업을 활용하였다. 분석 결과, BMI 중 가치창출은 B2B (vs. B2C) 혁신성과에 미치는 영향이 더 크며 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 반면 가치제안은 B2C (vs. B2B) 혁신성과에 미치는 영향이 더 크며 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과를 통해 주 비지니스 대상에 따라 BMI가 혁신성과에 상이한 영향을 미친다는 것을 실증했다는 점에서 학술적 의의가 있으며, 기업 특성에 따른 차별화된 BMI를 추구하는 것이 중요하다는 실무적 시사점을 가진다.

A Study on the Impact of Digital Transformation and Business Model Innovation on Enterprise Performance (디지털화 전환과 비즈니스 모델혁신이 기업성과에 미치는 영향)

  • In this study, 293 listed enterprises in Shandong Province and Jiangsu Province, China, from 2013 to 2023 are selected as the research object, and the questionnaire method is used to investigate the enterprises that carry out digital transformation, and the data collected from the questionnaires are statistically analyzed. By combining theoretical elaboration and empirical research, the relationship between enterprise digital transformation, business model innovation and corporate performance is investigated. The research results show that digital transformation has a positive impact on corporate performance and business model innovation, and business model innovation plays a mediating role between digital transformation and corporate performance. Based on the conclusions of the study, companies should actively promote digital transformation and accelerate its process. Companies should optimize the company's business innovation model to enhance the company's competitiveness. Companies should accelerate the establishment of a sound policy support for the digital transformation of enterprises, to provide support and reference for the implementation of digital transformation and business model innovation.

Analytical Framework for the Impact of Technical Change on Business Model Innovation (기술 변화의 영향을 고려한 비즈니스모델 혁신 분석 틀)

  • The paper proposes an analytical framework for the impact of technical change on business model innovation. Based upon the examination of the relationship between the mission of business and technology, it introduces classification of technology-based business models such as problem-solving model, production model and network model, respectively employing intensive technology, interlinked technology and mediating technology as a key technology. The discussion of various cases of business model innovation shows that the impact of digital technology is first translated into the value generation in terms of efficiency or effectiveness. These new values then enable a new business model which is based on a different key technology through business model shift, expansion, unbundling, or platform. Quite often those business model changes involves system-wide innovation. The framework for the analysis of the impact of technical change on business model innovation is presented with directions for future research.

  • 인터넷 이용자의 급속한 증가에 따라 인터넷을 이용한 새로운 비즈니스 모델들이 급격히 증가하는 추세를 보이고 있다. 이러한 새로운 비즈니스 모델들은 사업추진을 위한 방법에 있어서 컴퓨터 기술 등 일정 부분 기술적인 속성들을 내재하고 응용하고 있다는 점에 착안하여 비즈니스 모델에 대한 특허를 부여하고 있다. 그러나, 미국, 일본 등 선진국 뿐만 아니라 최근에는 우리나라에서도 적극적으로 검토되고 있는 비즈니스 모델에 대한 특허부여는 인터넷 기술의 급속한 진보와 인터넷이 네트워크를 매개로 자유로운 정보공유를 목적으로 출발하였다는 점, 영업방법에 대한 특허를 부여할 경우 그 영업분야에 대한 사실상의 독점인정이 될 것이라는 점 등 다양한 측면에서 비판적인 의견들이 제기되고 있다. 비즈니스 모델에 대한 특허부여는 인터넷을 이용하여 전세계를 그 영업대상으로 한다는 점에서 영업범위가 매우 광범위 하다는 점 및 파급효과의 즉시성 등의 특성으로 인하여 우리나라 뿐만 아니라 범세계적 차원에서 공동의 논의의 장과 규범을 마련해 나가야 할 것이다. 본 고에서는 특허청 등 특허관련 업계와 인터넷 서비스 업계 등을 중심으로 산발적으로 다루어지고 있는 비즈니스 모델 특허의 개념정의와 요건, 최근의 비즈니스 모델 특허관련 전개동향, 논점 등에 대해 살펴보고, 우리의 전략적 대응방안을 제시한다.

Cross-border Search and Dynamic Capability on Business Model Innovation of SMEs in China (중국 중소기업의 국경간 검색과 동적역량이 비지니스혁신에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • In recent years, the business model innovation of small and medium-sized enterprises has become a hot research issue, and it is also regarded as an important hot issue to promote the transformation and development of small and medium-sized enterprises and promote economic transformation and development. In this study, we analyzes the influence of cross-border search and dynamic capabilities of small and medium-sized enterprises in China on business model innovation. The model of influencing factors is established. After collecting relevant data through questionnaire survey, the model is verified and analyzed. It is verified that for small and medium-sized enterprises in China, dynamic capability and cross-border search have a positive and significant impact on enterprise business model innovation, and dynamic capability plays an intermediary role between cross-border search and enterprise business model innovation. Through this paper, we can give some enlightenment to the business model innovation of small and medium-sized enterprises in China.
