The Study about Visual Environment in Fashion Store (Part I) - Focusing on the Elements of Store Visual Environment - (패션 점포의 비주얼(visual) 환경에 관한 연구 (제1보))

  • The visual environment of the retail store is an important factor to attract consumers to the store, to satisfy consumers, and finally to increase retailers' profits. This study focused on store visual environment influencing consumer behavior. First, how store environment influenced time that consumers spent in a retail store was examined. Next, visual environment elements of the store that consumers perceived important were identified and the elements of store visual environment preferred by consumers characteristics were examined. Through the result of this study, retailers can realize importance of store visual environment and can also use the findings to establish a new visual merchandising policy of the store or to improve the store environment newly.

A Study on Visual Communication Design for Effective Trial Presentation (효과적인 법정 프레젠테이션을 위한 비주얼커뮤니케이션 디자인 연구)

  • As oral trial principle and civil participation in criminal trials spread, the environment of Korean courtroom is in need of a systematic introduction of trial presentation which can supplement with the oral trial presentation's weakness. Therefore this study analyzes the definition, types, and effectiveness of trial presentation, considering characters of the Korean court's environment. As for following research step, the most widely used trial presentation softwares in the USA and Korea are analyzed and compared in consideration of the particularity of the trial presentation. Based on this analysis, this study suggested elements to be included in the presentation software optimized for Korean court's environment as follows: 1. Ease of the insertion of various forms and media, 2. Appropriate limitation of the spectrum for graphic style, 3. Ease of use of graphics tools, 4. System functions. Such a suggestion was proposed not only to enhance the clarity, accuracy, effectiveness in developing insistence and delivery of content, but also promote aesthetic quality and consistency of presentation's visual communication aspect.

  • The visual environment of the store is a very important factor to attract consumers into the store and make consumers purchase products. Therefore retailers should have concerns about store environments to differentiate their stores from other stores. Thus this study focused on visual environment of the store influencing consumer behavior. The concrete purpose of this study was to identify preferences of store environments and store types by consumer traits. First, the store choice criteria factors were examined and through the cluster analysis, several consumer groups were constructed. And then the visual environment factors of the store that consumers perceived important were identified and the visual environment factors of the store preferred by consumer groups were examined. Finally, store types preferred by consumer groups were examined. The findings of this study can assist store designers and retailers to set up a store environment or visual marketing strategies.

  • Display in commercial space is one of the most important fields in modem advanced industrial sectors as means of promoting the volume of sales. Additionally, consummers' preferences are more complicated and various than before because of improvement of quality of life. In order to satisfy the various comsumer's desire, the role of display must be an important factor in commercial space. On the other hand, the facade of commercial buildings in the concept of visual merchandising has important effect on the commercial space such as layout of a shop, setting up presentation space, and visual expression. The structure of the facade of the store provides not only an advertising function but also an important position to the composition of external space. Besides, enterance space is a part of a store, and it is closely related to outdoor space. Therefore, the relationship between a store and outdoor space should be carefully considered in terms of functional and expressional problems.This study introduces all sort of characteristics of the facade of enterance speac in the commercial buildings. It also investigates the relationship among the characteristics. Moreover, it analyzes the effect of facade style on shop environment such as zonning, inducement plan, and allocation plan. For the purpose of this study, 57 fashion stores, located in Myung-Dong(Seoul), are investigated. Based on the sample, this study analyzes the relationship between the facade style and visual presentation. Finally, it suggests the desirable direction of space composition based upon the concept of visual merchandising.

A study on the attribute of infotainment design (인포테인먼트 디자인의 개념 연구)

  • It is very important issue in information design to improve information efficiency by adapting interesting factors in changing circumstance of information communication. The concept of infotainment is utilized in designing information contents in a way of combining entertainment factors with information itself based on various media and representation technologies. The information arousing user's attention, which includes interesting factors, is persuasive message comppared to the informative message conveying only information itself. The reason why infotainment is persuasive is because it makes the user absorb deeply in the information during the process of understanding by sensorial stimuli, cognitive interest, and situational interest. The sensorial stimuli originates from the expression elements of information design. The cognitive interest from the user's intellectual activities has a try to overcome mental block when user confronts with the redundant expression in the manner of unexpectedness and inharmony. The situational interest originates from user's optimum experience by the flow of satisfaction. Therefore, the attribute of infotainment is defined with the stimuli, the redundancy, and user's satisfaction. Its design elements consist of physical factors, organizational factors, and psychological factors. The physical factors through sensorial stimuli are utilized by visual manipulation such as visual analogy or visual pun, multimedia, and moving expression. The organizational factors through redundant expression bring user's imagination by adapting storytelling, event, and interaction in the process of understanding information. The psychological factors through expression of entertainment interests such as humor, play, and game give users psychological satisfaction with the flow. In conclusion the concept of infotainment can be adapted when the design factors should be integrated with its attributes, or the conveying information should go well with its purpose and characteristics.

  • In this paper, we design and implement a mobile game based on windows phone platform. Visual Studio and the Windows Mobile software development kit(SDK) and developer tool kits (DTK) make it possible to create software for the Windows Mobile platform in Visual C#. Also The XNA Framework is the set of .NET libraries that developers will code against to build games. XNA Framework support PC and XBOX and a ZUNE HD multiplex platform environment and 2D and 3D games provides the necessary functions to a development. XNA Framework is to make it easier to develop games because the codes which are succeeded creates with automatic, implements a game development relation resource and the game logic. The key idea of our game is that we use shooting and ranking system to raise fun.

  • The coursewares available on the web are on active development by each country all over the world in accordance with web prevailing. Many Visual Basic language courseware is also into web-based education it is not improving the effect of learning. Hence through this study, in orer to be out of the said kind of approach, 1)by adding multimedia elements with making the best of web characteristics, 2)escalating the studying effect of learners' with experimental environment, and 3)providing proper feedbacks in assessment of learners' reactions 4)we invented web-based multimedia courseware with the technology of Real Encoder, Real Player, Active X etc. and tried adapting it to school education field on the basis of design model of professor-learning system.

  • 본 과제를 통하여 기술적으로는 로봇 개발에 있어 기존 기술을 최대한 활용하고 새로운 기능을 추가하는 형태로 발전해 갈 수 있도록, 각 요소별 기능을 표준화 모듈화 하여 새로운 제품의 개발이 손쉽게 이루어 질 수 있는 기본 platform으로의 역할이 가능해졌다. 구동부 제작 및 설계, 금형 비용 등을 절감하기 위한 다목적 완구로봇 플랫폼을 확보할 수 있었다. 로봇이 복잡한 환경을 인식하고, 자율적으로 작업을 수행하며, 예측하지 못한 문제에 적절한 대처를 할 수 있도록 하기 위한 핵심 기술을 제공하게 될 것으로 생각된다. 로봇 개발에 있어 전문지식이 없는 초보자들이 직접 제작 구동해 볼 수 있는 비주얼한 개발환경을 지원할 뿐만 아니라 GUI 개발환경 및 TEXT Programming 으로 상호 전환이 가능한 코딩 방법을 지원(MSRS와의 차별화를 시도하였다. 기존 하드웨어 지식과 소프트웨어지식이 없는 상태에서도 제작자의 창의력에 따라 다양한 형태의 로봇을 제작 적용이 용의 하며 초보자들에 대한 로봇개발에 흥미를 유발할 수 있도록 하였다. 고급사용자를 위한 별도의 다운로딩 포트를 제공하였다. 로봇공학의 기본지식을 습득(아날로그/디지털 회로를 이해하고, 각종 센서의 이해하며, 스템/서보/DC모터의 제어기술, 펌웨어개발능력, 기본수준의 소프트웨어개발 능력) 활용할 수 있다. 또한, 경제 및 산업적 측면으로는 다음과 같은 장점이 있다. 기존 기술들의 장점을 취합하여 추가적인 기술을 적용할 수 있는 Base형태의 로봇을 개발할 경우 이를 활용한 제품 개발 및 Base자체로도 충분한 시장을 형성 할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 인터넷기반 로봇 제어 기술의 확보로 로봇시스템의 생산비용을 낮추고 TTM (Time-to-Market) 제약을 해결시켜 준다. 다른 응용 시스템에 쉽게 적용이 가능하고 지식기반 로봇 서비스의 요소기술 개발은 멀티미디어 콘텐츠분야(교육/게임/오락 등)의 활성화가 가능하기 때문에 타 IT산업에의 파급효과가 예상된다. B2B를 통한 실질적인 판매를 통한 동종기업의 연구 개발비 및 개발 기간의 단축이 예상된다.

Intelligibility Enhancement of Multimedia Contents Using Spectral Shaping (스펙트럼 성형기법을 이용한 멀티미디어 콘텐츠의 명료도 향상)

  • In this paper, we propose an intelligibility enhancement algorithm for multimedia contents using spectral shaping. The dialogue signals is essential to understand the plot of audio-visual media contents such as movie and TV. However, the non-dialogue components as like sound effects and background music often degrade the dialogue clarity. To overcome this problem, this paper tries to improves the dialogue clarity of audio soundtracks which contain important cues for the visual scenes. In the proposed method, the dialogue components are first detected by soft masker based on speech presence probability (SPP) which is widely used in speech enhancement field. Then, extracted dialogue signals are applied to the spectral shaping method. It reallocate the spectral-temporal energy of speech to enhanced the intelligibility. The total energy is maintained as unchanged via a loudness normalization process to prevent saturation. The algorithm was evaluated using the modeled and real movie soundtracks and it was shown that the proposed algorithm enhances the dialogue clarity while preserving the total audio power.

  • This paper is about multimodal storytelling experience applying Virtual Reality technology in museum. Specifically, this research argues virtual reality in both intuitive understanding of history also multimodal experience in the space. This research investigates cases regarding use of virtual reality in museum sector. As a research method, this paper conducts a literature review regarding multimodal experience and examples applying virtual reality related technologies in museum. Based on the literature review to investigate the concept necessary with its related cases. Based on the investigation, this paper suggests constructing elements for multimodal storytelling based on VR. Ultimately, this paper suggests the elements of building VR storytelling where dynamic audio-visual and interaction mode combines with historical resources for diverse audiences.
