클라이언트/서버 환경에서 서버의 공간 데이터를 검색, 접근하기 위한 공간 질의는 대용량의 공간 객체에 대해 복잡한 공간 연산을 수행한다. 따라서 클라이언트가 자주 이용하는 공간 질의를 매번 서버에서 처리하는 경우에 서버의 부하가 증가하며 질의 응답시간도 길어지게 된다. 그러므로 이러한 공간 질의를 뷰로 정의하고 클라이언트에 실체화하면 질의를 효율적으로 처리할 수 있다. 이 경우에 뷰를 유도한 서버의 소스 객체의 변경에 따라 클라이언트의 실체화된 뷰 객체의 일관성을 유지해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 클라이언트/서버환경에서 질의 수행 속도를 향상시키기 위해 실체화된 공간뷰 개념을 적용하여 클라이언트 뷰를 정의하고 유형을 분류한다. 그리고 실체화된 클라이언트 뷰의 리관성 제어를 위해 재수행 방법에 비해 변경 속도가 빠른 점진적 변경 방법을 이용한다. 이를 위해 일관성 제어시 필요한 추가정보를 기술하고, 추가정보를 이용한 일관성 제어 알고리즘을 제시한다. 그리고, 제시한 실체화 방법과 일관성 제어 알고리즘의 실현을 위하여 객체지향 GIS시스템임 고딕(GOTHIC)에서 설계 및 구현하고 성능을 평가한다.

클라이언트/서버 데이타베이스 시스템 환경이 대중화됨에 따라 클라이언트 캐쉬 데이터의 일관성을 유지하기 위한 기법들이 많이 제안되고 있다. 기존의 회피-기반 기법들은 갱신의도(write intuition) 선언을 동기적(synchronous)으로 수행하는 CB(Callback) 기법과 지연(defereed)하는 O2PL(Optimistic 2-Phase Locking) 기법을 기반으로 연구가 이루어졌다. 본 논문에서는 회피-기반(avoidance-based)에서 서버에게 갱신의도 선언을 비동기적으로 수행하는 캐쉬 일관성 유지 기법을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 기법은 갱신의도 선언을 비동기적으로 수행함으로 서버의 응답을 기다리지 않고 트랜잭션 처리를 수행함으로써 좋은 성능을 보이고, 트랜잭션 철회(abort)율이 낮다는 장점을 갖는다.

트랜잭션간 캐슁을 허용하는 데디터전송 시스템은 각 클라이언트가 데이터베이스의 일부분을 동적으로 캐슁하므로 트랜잭션 캐쉬 일관성 유지 기법의 필요성을 야기한다. 지연 로킹 기법은 클라이언트가 액세스한 데이터에 대한 로크 설정 및 유효성 검사가 비동기적으로 이루어지는 검사기반 기법이다. 지연 로킹 기법은 매우 낮은 통신부담을 보이므로 높은 성능을 발휘할 수 있지만, 트랜잭션 철회율이 높은 단점이 있다. 이 단점에 대처하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 철회되는 트랜잭션 대신에 실행되기 위하여 관리되는 백업 목적의 트랜잭션인 그림자 트랜잭션의 개념을 제안한다. 그리고 이 개념과 지연 로킹 기법을 통합하여 그림자 트렌잭션을 이용한 새로운 트랜잭션 캐쉬 일관성 유지 기법을 제안한다. 그리고 모의실험을 통하여 제안된 기법의 성능과 검사기반 기법 중 가정 대표적인 적응적 낙관적 동시성 제어 기법과 캐슁 두단계 로킹 기법과의 성능을 비교한다.

이동 통신 기술의 급격한 발전으로, 이동 컴퓨팅 환경에서 데이터 서비스에 대한 수요가 점차 증가하고 있다. 이동 호스트 내에 캐쉬가 존재하면, 통신 대역폭의 절약 및 질의에 대한 빠른 응답을 가져올 수 있지만, 이동 호스트가 서버 데이터와의 캐쉬 일관성(Consistency)을 유지시켜야 한다는 문제가 생기게 된다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 기법들이 가지는 문제점들을 보완하기 위해 데이터의 주기성을 고려한 캐쉬 일관성 유지 기법을 제안한다. 제안한 기법은 데이터를 주기적, 비주기적 데이터로 분류하고 주기적 데이터에 만료시간을 삽입하고, 또한, 무효화 메시지를 저장해서 단절 후에 선별적으로 캐쉬 데이터가 나누어 질 수 있도록 해서, 캐쉬 내의 데이터가 접속 단절 후에 일방적으로 버려지는 것을 막을 수 있도록 한다.

The present study aims at theoretically reviewing studies en the need of alignments among assessment, curriculum and instruction in order to implement the goals of mathematics education. This paper discusses about issues and models fer alignment between instruction and curriculum, and then mainly focuses on alignment of assessment with instruction and curriculum at two levels, classroom and large-scale assessment. It was pointed out that both many published standardized tests for large-scale assessment and classroom assessments failed to meet curricular goals and contents, and instructional methods. The findings imply that reform in mathematics education should not be driven by assessment, but be embedded in instructional practices.

Data-caching of a client is an important technology for interaction with a server where data are cached and operated at the client node. Caching reduces network latency and increases resource utilization at the client. In a Client-server environment, the absence of cache consistency algorithm, we cannot guarantee the correctness of client applications. In this paper, we propose a new asynchronous avoidance-based cache consistency algorithm. We remove the additional callback due to the lock escalation in AACC. With a comprehensive performance analysis, we show that the proposed algorithm has less message exchange than the AACC. One-copy serializability is used for proving correctness of the proposed algorithm.

The concept of a hyperpresentation, as an extension of a hypermedia, is the presentation in which time-varying multimedia presentations are dynamically linked together and a hyperlink's context can be changed over time at any time during a continuous presentation. While this concept provides users with a flexible and powerful tool for their descriptions of the multimedia presentation, inconsistency problems in the synchronized presentations connected by hyper links can be introduced. This paper introduces a method of describing the hyperpresentation using Petri Net and proposes a methods of detecting inconsistent hyper link loop in the hyperpresentation description.

모바일 클라이언트(Mobile Client, MC) - 서버 환경에서 캐쉬된 공간 데이타는 용량과 가용성이 크고 긴단절을 가지는 특징이 있다. 이러한 긴 단절을 거친 MC의 일관성 제어시 캐쉬된 데이타 전체가 무효화되어 재전송 하는 것은 비효율적이므로 서버는 변경된 객체 정보를 로그로 기록하여, 캐쉬된 영역에 속하는 최근 변경 정보만을 전송하는 것이 필요하다. 또한 일반적으로 로그의 순차 검색과 불필요한 로그의 누적으로 인해 일관성 제어시 통신 비용이 증가하게 되므로, 서버의 로그 검색 시간과 전송량을 최소화 하기위한 기법이 필요하다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 로그를 이용안 공간 로그 인덱스(Spatial Log Index, SLI) 기법과 공간 로그 관리(Spatial Log Management, SLM) 기법을 제시하고 있다.

The watermarking is a method to achieve the copyright protection of multimedia contents. Among several media, the left documents show very peculiar properties: block/line/word patterning, clear separation between foreground and background areas. So algorithms specific to the text documents are required that meet those properties. This paper proposes a novel watermarking algorithm for the grayscale text document images. The algorithm inserts the watermark signals through the edge direction histograms. A concept of sub-image consistency is developed that the sub-images have similar shapes in terms of edge direction histograms. Using Korean, Chinese, and English document images, the concept is evaluated and proven to be valid over a wide range of document images. To insert watermark signals, the edge direction histogram is modified slightly. The experiments were performed on various document images and the algorithm was evaluated in terms of imperceptibility and robustness.

We present a method of thesaurus construction in order to produce semantic concept hierarchy of Korean nouns and implement a system for constructing the thesaurus in this paper. Multiple-step construction method is applied to this system which uses bottom-up and top-down method complementarily for solving the non-objectivity of word hierarchy, working speed, structural contradiction and incoherency of existing thesaurus. This system maintains objectivity using the meaning sentence of machine-readable dictionary and solves structural contradiction and incoherency with reference to existing thesaurus. We implement a developmental tool based on client/server system to construct thesaurus including massive entries as soon as possible and multiple client can work simultaneously.
