최근 들어, 열악한 실내 공기 환경과 미세 먼지의 유입으로 아토피 피부염, 알레르기성 비염 및 천식 등의 감염성 질환이 증가하고 있다. 따라서, 공기 중 병원균(Airborne pathogens)을 친환경적으로 제거하는 기술이 요구되고 있는 추세이다. 본 연구에서 제안하는 시스템은 물을 이용하여 플라즈마를 발생시키는 시스템이다. 기존 플라즈마를 이용한 공기 정화 장치는 공기를 사용하여 플라즈마를 발생시키므로 오존과 같은 인체에 유해한 물질들이 발생되는 문제점이 있다. 하지만, 본 연구에서는 물을 사용하여 플라즈마를 발생시키므로 활성 라디칼들이 포함된 물을 미스트 형태로 분사하여 인체에 무해하며, 대기 중 병원균 살균이 가능한 장점이 있다. 물 플라즈마 젯 분사장치는 전원 공급 장치, 플라즈마 전극 그리고 플라즈마 노즐로 이루어져 있으며 주입되는 물을 기반으로 플라즈마를 발생시킨다. 장치의 특성을 분석하기 위하여, 오실로스코프로 전압 및 전류를 측정하였고 적정법을 이용하여 생성되는 활성 라디칼들의 농도를 측정하였다. 또한 살균 능력을 평가하기 위하여 병원균 중 대표적으로 대장균을 배양하여 살균 실험을 수행하였으며, 결과적으로 90% 이상의 대장균이 사멸하는 것을 확인하였다.

In order to investigate the effects of Gudambopae-Tang on allergic rhinitis, laboratory study about cytokines and OVA-specific IgE was perfomed in the present study. The results are summarized as follow; 1. IL4, IL-5 was increased in medicating group than control group. 2. $IFN-{\gamma}$ was increased in medicating group than control group. 3. total IgE and OVA-specific IgE was significant decreased in medicating group than control group, statistically significant. This study shows experimentally that Gudambopae-tang could reduce allergic reaction in allergic rhinitis. Advanced studies are required to investigate the mechanisms of herbal medicine in allergic rhinitis model.

Purpose: This study was conducted to examine the factors that influence sleep satisfaction among adolescents with Allergic Rhinitis in Korea. Methods: Data were obtained from 21,480 subjects who completed the 2018 14^th Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey. The data were analyzed using complex samples logistic regression with PASW 18.0. Results: The factors influencing sleep satisfaction were gender, grade, academic achievement, economic status, living arrangement, physical activity, drinking, smoking, stress, depression, perceived health status and perceived body image. Conclusion: It is necessary to develop interventions considering general and health-related characteristics in order to improve sleep satisfaction among adolescents with allergic rhinitis.

Objectives : The aim of this study was to investigate the classification methods of the cause of Allergic Rhinitis for Children. Methods : We surveyed the oriental & western medical book concerning the Allergic Rhinitis for Children. Results : 1. The Oriental medicine, Allergic Rhinitis is belong to the BiGu, BunChe and the symptoms are watery rhinorrhea, sneezing and nasal obstruction. 2. The cause of disease is the weak of lung, spleen and kidney, and invasion in to nasal cavity of Poong Han etc a wrong air. 3. In children, the cause of disease is the weak of lung and spleen. and the aim of the treatment is helping the vital energy and expelling the vice.

Objective : This case report evaluated the effect of Saengkangsasim-tang(生薑瀉心湯) on allergic rhinitis. Methods : Two different patients of allergic rhinitis were treated with Saengkangsasim-tang (生薑瀉心湯) in accordance with diagnostic system based on Shanghanlun(傷寒論) six meridian patterns and provisions. Results : After a series of Saengkangsasim-tang treatments, the symptoms of allergic rhinitis patients improved in 2 cases. Conclusions : According to diagnostic system based on Shanghanlun(傷寒論) six meridian patterns and provisions, this case study shows that Saengkangsasim-tang is effective on allergic rhinitis. However further clinical studies in depth are needed.

Background : Bojungikgitang is a typical prescription that helps to replenish the spleen and stomach, and its effect proved positive on allergic rhinitis by experiment. But there is only a few clinical thesis on allergic rhinitis to which Bojungikgitang was administered. Objective : The prevalence of allergic rhinitis appear to be increasing. The experimental study on allergic rhinitis has occasionally been reported, but the clinical study on various cases on treatment of using herbal medicine is not many. The aim of this study was to investigate effect of Bojungikgitang-Gamibang on allergic rhinitis. Methods : The treatment effect was analyzed over fifty patients who visited and had treatment with Bojungikgitang-Gamibang on allergic rhinitis in the hospital of Sangji University from June, 2003 to September, 2005. Result : After we analyzed 50 cases of allergic rhinitis by administering Bojungikgitang-Gamibang, we concluded that the shorter duration of disease and high dosage were the main factors which improved the symptoms effectively. Conclusion : Bojungikgitang-Gamibang was the effective treatment of allergic rhinitis.

Objective : This study is to investigate the effect of 8 Constitution Acupuncture on allergic rhinitis patients Methods : We treated 3 allergic rhinitis patients diagnosed as Colonotonia with 8 Constitution Acupuncture by dry needle. The degree of improvement was evaluated by Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) Results & Conclusions : After taking 8 Constitution Acupuncture sessions, the symptoms of allergic rhinitis was improved. After 8 Constitution Diet, the effect of therapy was lingered. This study shows that the allergic rhinitis can possibly be treated not only with herb medicine, but also with acupuncture and diet.

A weakened wild feral pig (a boar of about 15 kg) with snout distortion and characteristic external lesion of infectious atrophic rhinitis was captured at farm land near low mountains in Chinju, Kyeongnam province. This pig was necropsied and then the snout parts and the parenchymal organs were removed. The snout and nose were transversely sectioned at thickness of 1.5 cm interval. Grossly, the right side of the snout was shorted than that of left by reduction of right nasal turbinate length, but the nasal opening exudate was not observed. At necropsy, degeneration, adhesion, occlusion, and asymmetry of left and right sides on the meatus and turbinate were observed and findings of mild pneumonia were observed. Microscopically, the leukocyte infiltration, hyperemia and hyperplasia on the mucosa of the turbinates and septum were observed. The atrophied periosteum and osseous tissue were also observed. But Bordetella bronchiseptica was not identified in culture from nasal swabs. We expect the possibility that the snout distortion of this pig was due to infectious atrophic rhinitis according to these findings.

Objective : Allergic rhinitis is an allergic reaction characterized by sneezing, coughing, itchy nose, mouth and throat, congestion and/or nasal discharge. We aim to observe effect of Sinichengpae-um on protective effects of nasal mucosal tissue in th allergic rhinitis. Method : For this purpose, we oberserved number of leukocyte and erythrocyte in blood, ratio of neutrophil and lymphocyte in leukocyte, activity of GOT and GPT, and histopathologic change of nasal mucose. Result and Conclusion : Sinicheogpae-um showed effects on immune reaction with no harms liver. And in histopathologic change of nasal mucosal tissue, Sinichengpae-um showed significant protective effet against allergic rhinitis.

Objective : Prevalance of allergic rhinitis in pediatric population appear to be rising. About acupuncture and herbal medicine treatment on allergic rhinitis is occasionally reported, but few treatment of using herbal medicine distillate was reported. The aim of this study was to investigate effect of Tongkyu-tang distillate on pediatric allergic rhinitis. Methods : Twenty patients treated in our hospital between January 2002 and December 2002, treated with Tongkyu-tang distillate were studied. Result : We treated pediatrc allergic rhinitis with Tongkyu-tang distillate spray on nasal cavity. and so the symptoms of allergic rhinitis were improved effectively Conclusion : We had effective results of Tongkyu-tang distillate on pediatric allergic rhinitis comparatively. And we wish that much more new treatment methods of allergic rhinitis are investigated.
