An Experimental Study on the Behavior of Connections of Thin-Walled Cold-Formed Steel Section Frames (박판 냉간성형형강 골조의 접합부 거동에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • A series of connection tests of portal frames which were composed of cold-formed steel studs and rafters was carried out to study the moment-rotation relation, the rotational rigidity, and the yield and the ultimate moment of the connections. The main factors of the tests were the thickness, the shape of the connecting members which were made of mild steel, and the torsional restraints of the test specimens. The test results were compared with those obtained through the non-linear analysis, for verification. The secant stiffness estimated from the experimental moment-rotation curve was proposed for the rotational rigidity of semi-rigid connections, and its validity was verified in the structural frame analysis.

  • 본 연구에서는 팔당댐 지점을 중심으로 상류에 위치하고 있는 소양강, 충주 다목적댐 운영에 따른 빈도홍수량의 변화를 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 연구하기 위해서는 우선 댐운영 전후의 홍수량 자료를 획득하는 것이 무엇보다 중요하다. 즉, 홍수량 산정에 있어 댐의 유무, 댐운영을 모두 고려하여 유출량을 합리적으로 산정하는 것이 관건이 된다. 실제로 단기 강우-유출모형에 의해 홍수량을 산정하여야 하나, 계산의 어려움과 유역의 비선형으로 인해 그 결과를 증명하기도 매우 어려운 현실이다. 다시 말해, 댐운영 전후의 유출량 비교는 물론 빈도홍수량의 비교연구가 진행되기 힘든 실정이다. 따라서 상대적으로 유역면적이 클수록 일유량과 첨두유량의 관계가 비교적 일정한 경향을 보인다는 점에 착안하여, 장기유출모형인 SWAT-K 모형을 이용하여 먼저 일유량을 모의하였다. 모의된 일유량과 첨두유량과의 상관관계로 댐운영 전후에 따른 빈도홍수량의 변화특성를 파악하고자 하였다. 홍수빈도분석을 위해 사용된 분포는 Extreme Type I이며, 매개변수 추정은 L-moment 방법을 이용하였다. 본 연구방법은 유역면적이 상대적으로 넓은 지역에서 댐운영에 따른 빈도홍수량의 변화를 파악할 수 있는 새로운 시도라고 할 수 있다.

Target Motion Analysis for a Passive Sonar System with Observability Enhancing (가관측성 향상을 통한 수동소나체계의 표적기동 분석)

  • As a part of target motion analysis(TMA) with highly noisy bearings-only measurements from a passive sonar system, a nonlinear batch estimator is proposed to provide the initial estimates to a sequential estimator called the modified gain extended Kalman filter(MGEKF). Based on the system observability analysis of passive target tracking, a practical and effective method is suggested to determine the observer maneuvers for improved TMA performance through system observability enhancing. Also suggested is a method to determine observer location for enhanced system observability at the initial phase of TMA from various engagement boundaries which represent the relationship between observer-target relative geometrical data and system observability. The proposed TMA methods are tested by a series of computer simulation runs.

  • Dynamic analysis of lateral pile under seismic loading is performed in this paper. As an analytical model, the Bean-on-twinkler Foundation Model is used for this study because of its simplicity and acceptible accuracy . The method suggested by Kagawa and Kraft, which can account for non-linear effects, is used for the dynamic P-y relationship This relationship is found to be the most important factor in analysis . Group pile effects are also considered approximately The results of dynamic analysis show that a pile without supporting mass follows the soil movement ; in the case of a pile with supporting mass, the relative displacement between the soil and the pile occurs . When designing piles, it must be considered that piles have to resist the curvatures originated by the soil movement.

The Effect of Impulse Surge Current on Degradation in ZnO Varistors

  • J-E 특성 AC 임피더스 분석 그리고 주파수- 전도 특성들을 실험하여 임펄스 전류 서지가 ZnO 바리스터의 열화(degradation)에 미치는 영향을 고찰하였다. ZnO 바리스터 시편에 임펄스 전류(300A/$cm^24, 8/50$\mu s$)를 인가시킨 결과, 입계(grain boundary) 특성을 나타내는 비선형계수 $\alpha$와 E\ulcorner\ulcorner의 값은 크게 감소하였으나, 입자 특성을 나타내는 E_{100A}, E_{300A}$ 값에서는 큰 변화가 없었다. 이러한 열화 현상은 입계의 위치한 부성 전하 밀도, $N_s$의 감소에 한 쇼트키 장벽의 변화에 기인한 것으로 나타났다. 임펄스 서지에 의해 열화된 ZnO 바리스터는 AC 임피더스 분석에서 현저한 non-Debye 특성을 보이며, 이는 병렬 RC 네트워크로 모델링한 Cole-Cole 완화 관계식으로 입계의 열화 특성을 잘 설명할 수 있었다. 주파수-전도도 관계를 검토한 결과 Zno 바리스터는 호핑 전도(hopping conduction),\$sigma(\omega)\varpropto\omega^{\eta}$ 특성을 나타내면, 임펄스 서지가 인가된 이후 n 값이 감소하였다. 이는 임펄스 서지에 의해 입RP 결합 상태(defect states)가 호핑 전도가 발생하기 쉽고 다중(multiple)호핑에 의한 전도 메커니즘을 갖는 것으로 고찰되었다.

The forecasting evaluation of the high-order mixed frequency time series model to the marine industry (고차원 혼합주기 시계열모형의 해운경기변동 예측력 검정)

  • This study applied the statistically significant factors to the short-run model in the existing nonlinear long-run equilibrium relation analysis for the forecasting of maritime economy using the mixed cycle model. The most common univariate AR(1) model and out-of-sample forecasting are compared with the root mean squared forecasting error from the mixed-frequency model, and the prediction power of the mixed-frequency approach is confirmed to be better than the AR(1) model. The empirical results from the analysis suggest that the new approach of high-level mixed frequency model is a useful for forecasting marine industry. It is consistent that the inclusion of more information, such as higher frequency, in the analysis of long-run equilibrium framework is likely to improve the forecasting power of short-run models in multivariate time series analysis.

Color Modeling of Milled Rice by Milling Degree (도정도에 따른 쌀의 칼라 모델링)

  • To investigate the relationship between the milling degree and color of milled rice, an empirical whiteness model was developed according to the milling degree from $0\%\;to\;20\%$ using paddy of three different varieties of Chuchung, Nampyong and Odae. The values of determination coefficient and the root mean square error between measured and predicted whiteness were 0.990, 0.877, respectively, and the whiteness model was proved to be quite applicable. The relationships between whiteness values and color factors in several color systems were tested to select useful color factors for development of convenient whiteness meter. The whiteness value of milled rice according to degree of milling could be converted into b and Hunter whiteness in Lab color system. B in RGB color system at high values of determination coefficient were 0.990, 0.985, and 0.989, respectively.

An Analysis of the Transition Time between Dry and Wet Period in the Han River Basin (한경유역에서의 건기와 우기의 변이기간 분석)

  • The surface hydrology of large watershed is susceptible to several preferred stable states with transitions between stable states induced by stochastic fluctuations. This comes about due to the close coupling of land surface and atmospheric interaction. An interesting and important issue is the duration of residence in each mode. In this study, mean transition tunes between the stable modes are analyzed for the Han River Basin. On the basis of historical data, the nonlinear water balance model is calibrated for the Han River Basin. The transition times between the stable modes in the model are studied based on the stochastic representation of the physical processes and on the calibrated model parameters. This study has implications for prediction of the transition time between stable modes or residence times, that is, the time the system spends in a given stable modes, since this would be equivalent to predicting the duration of drought or wet conditions.

  • A moment-curvature relationship to simulate the behavior of reinforced concrete beam under cyclic loading is introduced. Unlike previous moment-curvature models and the layered section approach, the proposed model takes into consideration the bond-slip effect by using monotonic moment-curvature relationship constructed on the basis of the bond-slip relation and corresponding equilibrium equation at each nodal point. In addition, the use of curved unloading and reloading branches inferred from the stress-strain relation of steel gives more exact numerical result. The advantages of the proposed model, comparing to layered section approach, may be on the reduction in calculation time and memory space in case of its application to large structures. The modification of the moment-curvature relation to reflect the fixed-end rotation and pinching effect is also introduced. Finally, correlation studies between analytical results and experimental studies are conducted to establish the validity of the proposed model.

A New Method of Estimation of Kinetic Parameters for Enzyme-Catalyzed Reactions (酵素觸媒反應의 速度變數決定의 새로운 方法)

  • A new least square method for analysis of the whole time course of enzyme-catalyzed reactions is presented. This method requires only a programmable calculator with small capacity and is applicable to both uninhibited reactions and reactions inhibited by products or added compounds. This method fits the data to the nonlinear plot of substrate concentration vs. time, and, consequently, estimates the kinetic parameters better than the least square method based on linearly transformed equations.
