Construction Method Improvement of the FRP-plate Strengthening Method using the Velcro (벨크로를 이용한 FRP 플레이트 보강공법의 시공공법 개선)

  • The object of this paper is to study the flexural strengthening effectiveness on the construction method of bonding of the FRP. The existing FRP flexural strengthening methods were divided into FRP sheet strengthening and FRP plate strengthening according to the FRP condition. For improving the existing construction method, this paper proposed the velcro type anchorage system for temporary bonding material, and flexural strengthening effects were tested. Test variables were bonding methods of the FRP strengthening materials, and total 4 specimens were tested. Following to the test results, it is shown that FRP-plate strengthening method using the velcro can get better workability than existing construction methods, and have excellent strengthening performance including flexural strength, stiffness, ductility and failure aspect.

Blood Property and Biologger Attachment Efficiency of Spotted Sea bass Lateolabrax maculatus depending on External Biologger Attachment Methods (바이오로거 체외 부착방법이 점농어(Lateolabrax maculatus)의 혈액성상 및 바이오로거 부착효율에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of external biologger attachment methods on the blood parameters and attachment efficiency of spotted sea bass Lateolabrax maculatus (mean body weight 2630.8 g). The fish were tagged using four different external attachment methods with dummy biologgers: no attachment (control), anchor attachment (AA), monofilament attachment (MA), and silicon tube attachment (SA), each with triplicates. Blood indices and biologger attachment efficiency were assessed on days 1, 7, 14, 28, 56, and 84 after attachment. The concentrations of hematocrit, Na+, Cl-, glutamic pyruvic transaminase and total protein, and the activity of superoxide dismutase in blood were not affected by the external attachment method of biologger. The concentrations of glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase (day 1 of attachment), hemoglobin (day 56) and total cholesterol (day 56 and 84) in AA group, the concentrations of glucose and cortisol (day 14) and total cholesterol (day 84) in MA group showed significantly higher than those of control (p<0.05). During the experiment period, the SA group had no differences from the control in all blood properties. The biologger attachment efficiencies of the AA, MA, and SA groups after 84 days were 0.0%, 33.3%, and 100.0%, respectively. These results indicate that the optimum external biologger attachment method under our experimental conditions is SA type.

Improved Torque Ripple Through Pole Piece Deformation of Gear Ratio Transformed Magnetic Gear (폴피스 변형을 통한 기어비 변환형 마그네틱 기어의 토크 리플 개선)

  • This paper introduces a study on an electromagnet magnetic gear designed for gear ratio conversion. In comparison to magnetic gears using permanent magnets, this electromagnet magnetic gear exhibits lower torque density, highlighting the need for torque density improvement. To address this, the research focuses on enhancing torque density by examining the consistent orientation of each rotor's magnetization during gear ratio conversion and attaching permanent magnets accordingly. However, an issue arises due to the uneven magnetic flux density caused by the non-uniform attachment of permanent magnets, leading to an increase in torque ripple. Therefore, building upon previous studies aimed at reducing torque ripple in electromagnet magnetic gears, this research explores the optimal methods, such as pole piece bridges and fillet configurations, to mitigate torque ripple even during gear ratio conversion.

A Reliable Data Capture in Multi-Reader RFID Environments (다중 태그 인식 기반의 신뢰성 있는 데이터 수집 환경)

  • Reliable Multi-Reader RFID identification is one of issues in Multi-Reader RFID realization program in recent. And the Multi-Reader RFID reader has difficulty to obtain reliable data in data capture layer. The reason is that unreliable readings such as a false positive reading and a false negative reading and missed readings can happen by reader collision problems, noise, or the mobility of tagged objects. We introduce performance metrics to solve these reader problems. We propose three solutions the Minimum Overlapped Read Zone (MORZ) with Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI), the Spatial-Temporal Division Access (STDA) method, and double bigger size of tags attached on the object. To show the improvement of the proposed methods, we calculate tag's successful read rates in a smart office, which consists of Multi-Reader RFID systems.

The contactless elevator button using the electrostatic capacity (정전 용량을 이용한 비접촉식 엘리베이터 버튼)

  • The elevator installed in the building consists of an elevator call button and an input button for selection to the target floor. The elevator button is input only when the elevator user directly presses it. Such passenger input can be infected with an infectious disease due to contamination of the button. A non-contact button is required as a means for solving this problem, which detects the proximity of an object by applying a capacitive method. It implements a function of measuring the body's body temperature by attaching an infrared heat sensor, and provides a sterilization function of a button by attaching a UV-LED. A button was selected, a body temperature was measured through an infrared temperature measurement sensor, and UV-LED was turned on and sterilized when there was no user. The contactless elevator button is expected to be effective in preventing infectious diseases as it can prevent infection of viruses carrying infectious diseases and can detect body temperature to select positive patients of CIVID 19.

Analysis of the Load Carrying Behavior of Shear Connection at the Interface of Encased Composite Beams (매입형 합성보의 전단합성거동에 대한 비교분석)

  • In this study, a bending test with three encased composite beams were carried out and analyzed using FEM in order to find how chemical adhesion, interface interlock, friction and composite action by shear studs contribute to stiffness, strength and composite action in the interface of encased compo site beams. The test and results of the FEM analysis showed that the difference in the ultimate moment capacity of the composite beams with and without studs is under 10%. The reason is that the effect of chemical adhesion, interface interlock, and friction in the interface on the composite action is so high that the encased beams have a moment capacity above some defined magnitude. Also, the increment of moment capacity up to plastic moment is not large and the increase of linearly proportioned.

  • 전기수력학적 분무를 이용한 액적 미립화 기술은 나노사이즈의 액적 형성, 쿨롱 반발력에 의한 균일한 액적 형성, 그리고 향상된 액적 타겟팅을 가능하게 한다. 따라서 이를 이용하여 매우 균일한 박막 코팅이 가능하다. 이러한 점에 힘입어 현재 진공 공정으로 제작되고 있는 CIGS태양전지의 광흡수층을 비진공 공정중 하나인 전기수력학적 미립화를 이용하여 실험하였다. Ethanol-based 의 CIGS나노 입자를 포함하는 콜로이드 상태의 전구체를 이용하여 적절히 가열된 몰리브덴 배면 전극위에 적용하였다. 미립화한 액적은 접지된 몰리브덴 층에 부착되는 즉시 증발하여 CIGS입자를 남긴다. 여기서 가장 중요하게 다루어야 할 조건은 기판의 온도, 인가 전압, 전구체의 유량이다. 분사 모드는 Cone-jet을 적용하였으며 5~15kV의 인가 전압에서 1ml/hr내외의 유량을 공급하여 3분 이내에 적절한 광흡수층 두께인 1마이크론 내외에 도달할 수 있다. 이와같은 조건으로 형성된 박막층에 관한 SEM image를 통해 다른 비진공 코팅 방식과 비교하였다.

Seismic Performance of Precast Beam-Column Joints with Thru-Connectors (관통형 연결재로 연결된 PC 보-기둥 맞댐 접합의 내진성능에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • Precast beam column joints with thru-connectors are developed from precedent study. The seismic performance is evaluated by experimental method. The test results of the precedent study showed that failure modes for all specimens were a compression failure by characteristics of unbonded tendon. Thus, variable considered in the research program for a tensile failure include the use of dog-boned longitudinal steel and concrete confined with steel spirals. The analysis of structural characteristics and evaluation of seismic performance of specimens was conducted by the experimental way. Comparison of result with the test specimens indicates that seismic performance is higher than the precedent study due to concrete confinement effect from steel spirals.

  • In this paper, a digital potentiometer is used as a load resistor of a wireless optical differential detector with a polarizer, to improve the noise reduction capability. In this structure, the noise voltages of the two photodiodes are made equal by controlling a digital potentiometer and the optical noise is cancelled out. With a digital potentiometer, the signal to noise ratio is enhanced by about 23 dB.

  • Strengthening by bonded CFRP sheet/plate onto the surface has been generally used for the R.C. beams. The strengthening efficiency of this system depends on the performance of the adhesive interlace between the beam and the CFRP, and the interlace often causes unexpected failure. In this paper, an unbonding system is proposed with prestressed CFRP. Finite element analysis has been conducted using DIANA for the R.C. beams strengthened by prestressing the unbonded CFRP plate. The results of analysis were compared with those of experiment.
