본 사례 연구는 수학 교사로서 연구자가 학급에서 중간 정도의 학업 성적을 가지면서 특히 언어 영역이 상위의 학생이 수학 성적에서는 최하에 있는 수학 학습 부진을 보이는 한 여학생을 선정하여 매일 수학을 가르치면서 이 학생의 수학 학습의 부진 요인에 대한 해답을 찾고자 했다. 본 연구에서는 비구조화된 인터뷰, 관찰기록, 전화, 이메일, 부모와의 인터뷰이며, 객관적인 자료를 위해 수학 기본능력 검사, 수학 내신성적, 대학수학능력 모의고사, 진로탐색 검사 등의 자료를 수집하였다. 이렇게 수집된 모든 자료를 일기 형식의 연구 일지에 기록하여 이 학생의 변화에 대한 기록을 하였다. 본 연구에 따르면, 이 여학생은 낮은 지능과 잘못된 계열 선택, 기초학습 및 선수학습의 결손, 학교와 학급에 대한 부적응, 교사와 학생간의 부정적인 인간관계, 수학교과에 대한 불안감, 학습 실패 경험의 누적에 의한 자신감 상실, 학생의 능력 수준을 고려하지 않은 부모의 높은 기대치 등의 요인에 의해 수학 학습에서 어려움을 겪고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

Cleft lip and palate is one of the most common congenital defects in oro-maxillo-facial region. Because most patients undergo surgical repair in early life, the sagittal jaw relationships used to be deteriorated gradually from palate surgery up to adulthood. Also, the maxillary lateral incisor may be absent or atypical-shaped in the cleft site and may not erupt or erupt ectopically, so multidisciplinary dental cares are needed for cleft lip and palate patients. The effects of the cleft lip and alveolus seem to be limited to that part of the dentofacial complex that surrounds the cleft area. In the maxillary arch, the anterior part of the non cleft segment has a tendency to be rotated forward. On the other hand, the cleft segment has a tendency to rotated slightly medially ; hence, the tendency for canines to be edge-to-edge and sometimes in crossbite. Lip and alveolus surgery adequetely correct these problems, with little untoward effect on the skeletal maxillary-mandible relationships. In this report, the patient has a repaired lip and cleft alveolus on the left side with congenital missing on '62, '22, oronasal fistula, and skeletal class III malocclusion which is not affected by lip surgery. Dental treatments for this patient including orthodontic(space supervision, functional regulator in mixed dentition, fixed therapy in permanent dentition) and prosthodontic(removable obturator with key and keyway attachment and Konus crown) therapy were performed to improve the patient's functions and esthetics.

The nasopalatine duct cyst, known as the incisive canal cyst, is the most common nonodontogenic cyst in the maxillofacial area. It is believed to arise from epithelial remnants of the embryonic nasopalatine duct. Nasopalatine duct cysts are most often detected in patients between forties and sixties. The trauma, bacterial infection, or mucous retention has been suggested as etiological factors. The cysts often present as asymptomatic swelling of the palate but can present with painful swelling or drainage. Radiologic findings include a well demarcated cystic structure in a round, ovoid or heart shape presenting with a well-defined bone defect in the anterior midline of the palate between and posterior to the central incisors. Most of them are less than 2cm in size. On MRI, the cyst is identified as a high-intensity, well-marginated lesion, which indicates that it contains proteinaceous material. We experienced a case of a 61-year-old female patient who had a $2.3{\times}2.6{\times}1.7cm$ sized nasopalatine duct cyst. The bony defect after a surgical extirpation was restored with hydroxyapatite. So we report a good results with some reviews of the literatures.

Advancement of imaging and surgical technique makes the internal hemipelvectomy one of the routine procedures of pelvis sarcoma. However, optimal reconstructive option for skeletal defect is still controversial. Pasteurized autogenous bone-total hip composite is a biologic method and its anatomical appropriateness gives good indication for selected cases. Nevertheless, in case of complication such as infection or mechanical breakage, removal of hardware including graft is inevitable. In those cases, marked limb length discrepancy induce marked functional deficit. To overcome this problem, the authors report 1 case, refining previous technique, saving the femoral head and reinsertion of osteoarticularly pasteurized host bone.
