  • 본 논문에서는 트랜스코딩가 미디어캐슁 기법을 적목한 프록시 시스템인 DCMS(Dual Caching proxy for adaptive Multimedia Streaming service)를 제안한다. 미디어 데이터 특성을 이용해서 DCMS는 전체 파일 중 파일의 시작 부분만을 미리 캐쉬에 저장하여 클라이언트가 미디어 서비스를 요청하면, 서버를 대신해 데이터를 클라이언트로 전송해주면서 데이터 블록의 뒷부분부터 미리 선반입(Pre-fetching)함으로써 미디어 재생에 끊김이 없도록 한다. 그리고 미디어 데이터를 네트워크 대역폭, 무선단말기 수용성과 사용자 선호도를 고려한 트랜스코딩을 통해 미디어 데이터의 질을 레벨화 하여 저장함으로써 각 클라이언트에 적합한 미디어 데이터를 바로 제공한다.

  • 커버 영상에 비밀 메시지를 은닉하기 위한 효과적인 스테가노그라피 기법을 제안한다. 커버 영상을 겹치지 않게 연속된 3개의 픽셀 단위로 블록을 나누어, 가운데 픽셀을 중심으로 좌·우 픽셀과의 차분을 각각 계산하여 비밀 메시지를 은닉한다 본 논문에서는 영상의 질을 높이면서 대량의 비밀 메시지를 숨길 수 있는 방식을 제안한다. 또한, 비밀 메시지를 은닉시킬 때, 커버 영상의 특성을 고려하여 영상에 적응적으로 데이터를 삽입하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 디지털 노마드들이 활동하는 인터넷 환경에서 좀 더 진화된 형태의 메타버스 플랫폼 환경에서는 물론 컴퓨터를 활용한 디지털 환경에서 적응하며 블록체인이나 NFT와 같은 가상화폐, 가상자산과 함께 융합 발전하고 있다. MZ세대 중에서 컴퓨터를 활용하는 그래픽 아티스트들의 디지털 아트활동과 좀 더 발전된 형태의 NFT아트로의 융합 발전에 대해 알아보고 디지털 노마드를 넘어 디지털 네이티브로 진화한 이러한 디지털 창작활동을 하는 아트직군의 크리에이터들이 향후 어떻게 발전하게 될지 후속 연구 방향성을 제시한다.

  • With the rapid development of block chain technology, attempts have been made to put the block chain technology into practical use in various fields such as finance and logistics, and also in the public sector where data integrity is very important. Defense Operations In addition, strengthening security and ensuring complete integrity of the command communication network is crucial for operational operation under the network-centered operational environment (NCOE). For this purpose, it is necessary to construct a command communication network applying the block chain network. However, the block chain technology up to now can not solve the security issues such as the 51% attack. In particular, the Practical Byzantine fault tolerance (PBFT) algorithm which is now widely used in blockchain, does not have a penalty factor for nodes that behave maliciously, and there is a problem of failure to make a consensus even if malicious nodes are more than 33% of all nodes. In this paper, we propose a Adaptive Consensus Bound PBFT (ACB-PBFT) algorithm that incorporates a penalty mechanism for anomalous behavior by combining the Trust model to improve the security of the PBFT, which is the main agreement algorithm of the blockchain.

  • In this paper, we propose a VLSI architecture of hardware optimized high quality image signal processor for a Single-chip CMOS Image Sensor(CIS). The Single-chip CIS is usually used for mobile applications, so it has to be implemented as small as possible while maintaining the image quality. Several image processing algorithms are used in ISP to improve captured image quality. Among the several image processing blocks, demosaicing and image filter are the core blocks in ISP. These blocks need line memories, but the number of line memories is limited in a low cost Single-chip CIS. In our design, high quality edge-adaptive and cross channel correlation considered demosaicing algorithm is adopted. To minimize the number of required line memories for image filter, we share the line memories using the characteristics of demosaicing algorithm which consider the cross correlation. Based on the proposed method, we can achieve both high quality and low hardware complexity with a small number of line memories. The proposed method was implemented and verified successfully using verilog HDL and FPGA. It was synthesized to gate-level circuits using 0.25um CMOS standard cell library. The total logic gate count is 37K, and seven and half line memories are used.

Adaptive Video Watermarking using the Bitrate and the Motion Vector (비트율과 움직임 벡터를 이용한 적응적 동영상 워터마킹)

  • This paper proposes a adaptive video watermarking algorithm according to bitrate and motion vector size in MPEG2 system. The watermark strength in the I-frames is adapted for quantization step size and the strength in the P-B-frames is adapted for quantization step size and motion vector of macroblock to make the watermark more robust against the accompanying degradation due to aggressively compression. A realtime watermark extraction is done directly in the DCT domain during MPEG decoding without full decoding of MPEG video. The experimental simulations show that the video quality results almost invisible difference between the watermarked frames and the original frames and the watermark is resistant to frame dropping, MPEG compression, GoP conversion and low pass filter attacks.

Cross Diamond Search Using Motion Direction Biased Characteristics (움직임 방향 치우침 특성을 이용한 십자형 다이아몬드 탐색)

  • In this paper, we design directional search pattern using motion direction biased characteristics of MVP distribution, and proposes a direction applied cross diamond search method that adaptively change search pattern according to moving direction of search point. Proposed method predict motion vectors from neighbor macro blocks, and define initial motion direction by using predicted motion vectors. It improve search efficiency by using alternately proposed search pattern according to motion direction of BMP in search process. The simulation results show that proposed method is able to fast motion estimation compared with conventional cross diamond search, according as it reduce computational complexity that is required of motion estimation with $0.43%{\sim}1.76%$.

An Adaptive Estimation Model for Propagation Errors Incurred by CD in FD-CD Transcoding (FD-CD 트랜스코딩기법에서 CD에 의한 전파 왜곡의 적응적 예측 모델)

  • Recently, FD(Frame Dropping)-CD(Coefficient Dropping) transcoding is considered mainly due to the low computational complexity and simple implementation. But, CD errors in the FD-CD transtoding scheme tend to be propagated and they have a significant effect on the qualities of decoded images. In this paper, we derive the error characteristics incurred by the CD operations and propose an effective estimation model that adaptively describes well the characteristics of propagation/accumulation errors in compressed domain. Furthermore, we apply the proposed model to distortion control achieving nearly constant distortion allocation among frames. Simulation results show that the proposed model is quite accurate in estimating the overall distortions and is effectively applied to distortion control over a range of sequences with varying scene types.

  • Noise reduction is an important issue in the field of image processing because image noise worsens the quality of the input image. The basic difficulty is that the noise and the signal are not easy to distinguish. Simple moothing is one of the most basic and important procedures to remove the noise, however, it does not consider the level of noise. This method effectively reduces the noise but the feature area is simultaneously blurred. This paper considers the block approach to detect noise and image features of the input image so that noise reduction could be adaptively applied. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm improves the overall quality of the image by removing the noise according to the noise level.

  • In video compression, Motion Estimation(ME) limits the performance of image quality and generated bit rates. However, it requires much complexity in the encoder part. Multi-view video uses many cameras at different positions. Multi-view video coding needs huge computational complexity in proportion to the number of the cameras. To reduce computational complexity and maintain the image quality, an effective motion estimation method is proposed in this paper. The proposed method exploiting the characteristics of motion vector distribution and the motion of video. The proposed is a kind of a hierarchical search strategy. This strategy consists of multi-grid rhombus pattern, diagonal pattern, rectangle pattern, and refinement pattern. Experiment results show that the complexity reduction of the proposed method over TZ search method and PBS (Pel Block Search) on JMVC (Joint Multiview Video Coding) can be up to 40~75% and 98% respectively while maintaining similar video image quality and generated bit rates.
