  • 본 연구는 특징 파라메터의 특성을 고려한 신경회로망에 관한 연구로서 패턴블럭 선택적 신경회로망을 제안하고, 제안한 신경회로망의 성능을 평가하기 위하여 한국어 단모음에 대한 불특정 화자 인식 실험을 하였다. 각 패턴에 따른 특징 파라메터의 변화를 고려하지 않은 기존의 패턴매칭 알고리즘에 비하여 제안된 신경회로망은 인가된 패턴을 파라메터의 특성에 맞게 몇 개의 부패턴으로 분할한 후 가장 최적의 부패턴을 선택하여 학습하고 인지하는 것이 그 특성이다.

  • This paper presents a new block matching algorithm in estimation of motion information that is important technology in compressing interframe. In estimation of motion information, we find differential image using two successive frame image in order to find required real time processing and accurate moving vector, the binary image is made of edge and find more accurate moving vectors by application quadtree method to parts including many moving according to this activity. The computer simulation results show that increased PSNR and reduced computation time.

A Fast Full-Search Motion Estimation Algorithm using Adaptive Matching Scans based on Image Complexity (영상 복잡도와 다양한 매칭 스캔을 이용한 고속 전영역 움직임 예측 알고리즘)

  • In this Paper, we propose fast block matching algorithm by dividing complex areas based on complexity order of reference block and square sub-block to reduce an amount of computation of full starch(FS) algorithm for fast motion estimation, while keeping the same prediction quality compared with the full search algorithm. By using the fact that matching error is proportional to the gradient of reference block, we reduced unnecessary computations with square sub-block adaptive matching scan based image complexity instead of conventional sequential matching scan and row/column based matching scan. Our algorithm reduces about $30\%$ of computations for block matching error compared with the conventional partial distortion elimination(PDE) algorithm without any prediction quality, and our algorithm will be useful in real-time video coding applications using MPEG-4 AVC or MPEG-2.

  • 영상분할은 입력 영상에서 특정 영역을 분할하는 처리로서 이동물체추적, 영상 감시, 영상 기반 제어등 다양한 분야에서 중요하게 다루는 기술 중 한 가지이다. 기존 영상 분할 방법은 영역을 기반으로 하는 방법과 경계선을 기반으로 하는 방법 등이 있으며 경계선을 기반으로 이동물체 영역을 분할하는 것이 연산량 감소등 의 많은 이점이 있다. 그러나 영상의 경계가 모호한 경우 적용이 곤란하다. 본 논문에서는 이동벡터를 추출한 후 이동벡터를 분할기법을 제안하고자 한다. 입력영상에 대하여 BMA기법을 적용하여 이동벡터를 추출하여 이동벡터 영상을 구한 후, 이동 벡터영상에 워터쉐이드 기법을 적용하여 영상 분할하였다. 기존 경계선을 이용한 영상 분할과 비교한 결과 노이즈가 적은 결과를 얻었다.

  • Recently, many researchers in the world are concentrated to develop the robot platform which is to reduce the developing cost by reusing existing softwares. In this paper, we describe that the 3 dimension recognition object components for OPRoS (Open Platform for Robotic Services) which is developed in Korea. We present that the structure of the component, disparity map and depth map algorithm for recognizing 3 dimension space. We used stereo matching and block matching method to produce the disparity map. We test the component on the computer with OPRoS platform and show the results of accuracy and performance time.

  • In this paper, we implemented the surveillance camera system capable of day and night shooting. To this end, it is designed to capture clear images even at night using a CMOS image sensor as well as an IR-LED. In addition, a relatively simple motion detection algorithm was proposed through color model separation. Motions can be detected by extracting only the H channel from the color model, dividing the image into blocks, and then applying the block matching method using the average color value between consecutive frames. When motions are detected during filming, an alarm sounds automatically and a day and night motion detection system is implemented that can capture and save the event screen to a PC.

Frame Interpolation using Dominant MV (우세 움직임 벡터를 이용한 프레임 보간 기법)

  • The emerging display technology has been replaced the previous position of the CRT with the LCD. The nature of hold type display such as LCD, however, causes many problems such as motion blur and motion judder. To resolve the problems, we used frame interpolation technique which improves the image quality by inserting new interpolated frames between existing frames. In this paper, we propose a novel frame interpolation technique that uses dominant MV and variance different value in each block. At first, the proposed algorithm performs unidirectional motion estimation using blocking matching algorithm. The new frame is generated by pixel average using compared block variance or by pixel motion compensation using dominant motion vector, whether the motion estimation find the target area or not. Several experiments with the proposed algorithm shows that the proposed algorithm has better image quality than the existing bidirectional frame interpolation algorithm at the rate of about 3dB PSNR and has low complexity comparing to the unidirectional frame interpolation technique.

Error Recovery by the Classification of Candidate Motion Vectors for H.263 Video Communications (후보벡터 분류에 의한 영상 에러 복원)

  • In transmitting compressed video bit-stream over Internet, packet loss causes error propagation in both spatial and temporal domain, which in turn leads to severe degradation in image quality. In this paper, a new approach for the recovery of lost or erroneous Motion Vector(MV)s by classifying the movements of neighboring blocks by their homogeneity is proposed. MVs of neighboring blocks are classified according to the direction of MVs and a representative value for each class is determined to obtain the candidate MV set. By computing the distortion of the candidates, a MV with the minimum distortion is selected. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm exhibits better performance in many cases than existing methods.
