  • 기존의 2 차원 이미지를 통한 세포 분석은 단지 세포의 단면만을 볼 수 있기 때문에 정확한 구조를 파악하기 힘들다. 본 논문에서는 그리드 기술을 이용하여 2 차원 이미지들을 세포 구조에 대한 더욱 정확한 이해 및 연구 능률의 향상을 도모할 수 있는 3 차원 이미지로 재구성하는 시스템을 개발하였다. 이 시스템은 고성능 이미지 처리를 위해서 계산 그리드를 이용하며, 화질 개선을 위한 전처리 기술, 자동 영상 정렬 기술, 효과적인 삼차원 재구성 기술과 같은 다양한 이미지 처리 알고리즘 및 preStageIn, BgUpload, delegated preprocessing 등과 같은 데이터 전송 최적화 기술 등을 제공한다. 또한, 다양한 이미지 뷰어 기능 및 DirectX 를 이용한 3 차원 렌더링 기능을 제공한다.

Open Digital Textbook for Smart Education (스마트교육을 위한 오픈 디지털교과서)

  • In Smart Education, the roles of digital textbook is very important as face-to-face media to learners. The standardization of digital textbook will promote the industrialization of digital textbook for contents providers and distributers as well as learner and instructors. In this study, the following three objectives-oriented digital textbooks are looking for ways to standardize. (1) digital textbooks should undertake the role of the media for blended learning which supports on-off classes, should be operating on common EPUB viewer without special dedicated viewer, should utilize the existing framework of the e-learning learning contents and learning management. The reason to consider the EPUB as the standard for digital textbooks is that digital textbooks don't need to specify antoher standard for the form of books, and can take advantage od industrial base with EPUB standards-rich content and distribution structure (2) digital textbooks should provide a low-cost open market service that are currently available as the standard open software (3) To provide appropriate learning feedback information to students, digital textbooks should provide a foundation which accumulates and manages all the learning activity information according to standard infrastructure for educational Big Data processing. In this study, the digital textbook in a smart education environment was referred to open digital textbook. The components of open digital textbooks service framework are (1) digital textbook terminals such as smart pad, smart TVs, smart phones, PC, etc., (2) digital textbooks platform to show and perform digital contents on digital textbook terminals, (3) learning contents repository, which exist on the cloud, maintains accredited learning, (4) App Store providing and distributing secondary learning contents and learning tools by learning contents developing companies, and (5) LMS as a learning support/management tool which on-site class teacher use for creating classroom instruction materials. In addition, locating all of the hardware and software implement a smart education service within the cloud must have take advantage of the cloud computing for efficient management and reducing expense. The open digital textbooks of smart education is consdered as providing e-book style interface of LMS to learners. In open digital textbooks, the representation of text, image, audio, video, equations, etc. is basic function. But painting, writing, problem solving, etc are beyond the capabilities of a simple e-book. The Communication of teacher-to-student, learner-to-learnert, tems-to-team is required by using the open digital textbook. To represent student demographics, portfolio information, and class information, the standard used in e-learning is desirable. To process learner tracking information about the activities of the learner for LMS(Learning Management System), open digital textbook must have the recording function and the commnincating function with LMS. DRM is a function for protecting various copyright. Currently DRMs of e-boook are controlled by the corresponding book viewer. If open digital textbook admitt DRM that is used in a variety of different DRM standards of various e-book viewer, the implementation of redundant features can be avoided. Security/privacy functions are required to protect information about the study or instruction from a third party UDL (Universal Design for Learning) is learning support function for those with disabilities have difficulty in learning courses. The open digital textbook, which is based on E-book standard EPUB 3.0, must (1) record the learning activity log information, and (2) communicate with the server to support the learning activity. While the recording function and the communication function, which is not determined on current standards, is implemented as a JavaScript and is utilized in the current EPUB 3.0 viewer, ths strategy of proposing such recording and communication functions as the next generation of e-book standard, or special standard (EPUB 3.0 for education) is needed. Future research in this study will implement open source program with the proposed open digital textbook standard and present a new educational services including Big Data analysis.

An Analysis on RAW Image File of DLSR Camera and Development of a RAW Image Viewer for an Embedded Device (DLSR 카메라의 RAW 이미지 파일 분석 및 임베디드 장치용 RAW 이미지 뷰어 개발)

  • This research is focused on an analysis on the structure of RAW image file and the development of a RAW image file viewer for an embedded device. Recently, several RAW image file formats are being used for saving and displaying the images created by various DSLR cameras, and the necessity of handing RAW images in mobile multimedia devices is increasing. For the development of RAW image decoding/encoding library applicable to WinCE-based embedded devices viewer, an analysis of RAW image file formats, such as CRW, CR2, PEF, NEF, MRW, have been performed because their formats are not released in public. By using the library, the analysis software which can extract RAW image data, 2~3 JPEG image files and other informations such as the specification of a camera and various photographic parameters from RAW image files, were developped and a RAW image file viewer which can run in WinCE-based embedded devices. The experimental result has shown that the viewer could encode and decode RAW image files successfully and it took approximately 10secs to load them to the screen in S3C6410 based embedded platform. The outcomes of this research cloud be a good information and solution to multimedia application developers.

Development of Real-time Underground Utilities Management System using Real-time Kinematics Systems and 3D Game Engines (RTK 시스템과 3차원 게임엔진을 이용한 실시간 지하 매설물 관리 시스템 개발)

  • This paper describes a development of system that enables the user to manage and display from 3D viewer after at real-time saves attribute informations in DBMS using RTK systems and 3D game engines. The 3-dimensional game engines for this system will be input a attribute values of underground utilities which is measured from RTK systems with wireless network. This system which sees does to make be a possibility of managing creation, elimination, modification for the underground utilities from 3-dimensional viewer. The coordinates about the underground utilities measures with GPS. The base reference point for RTK systems uses one in reference points which are measured in existing. GPS coordinates revised a reference point in standard. The 3-dimensional game engines are having the function which manages the underground utilities with 3-dimensions. The function is the same as wireless network of RTK systems, 3-dimensional display for terrain and underground utilities, input and registration for attribute of underground utilities, etc. The system which sees will be able to prevent the various accident which is caused by in the spatial location coordinate which underground utilities is inaccurate. And the system which sees is accurate is a possibility of managing and the application possibility is high very. Finally, this system could be applied very usefully from the point of view which starts a new town development.

  • 네트워크 카메라는 인터넷을 통해 디지털 영상 전송이 가능하고, 다수의 사용자에게 동시에 같은 영상을 실시간으로 제공해줄 수 있다. 이와 같은 네트워크를 이용한 감시 카메라를 위한 기술은 효율적인 서버 기술, 네트워크 기술, 전송 기술, 압축 기술 등과 함께 영상을 재생할 수 있는 클라이언트 기술을 필요로 한다. 이러한, 클라이언트 측의 기능은 PC 등의 데스크탑 뿐만 아니라, 유무선 통신 단말기, PDA 등의 모바일 단말로까지 그 범위를 넓혀가고 있으며, 특히, 셀룰러폰의 수요가 급속히 증가하면서, 모바일 환경에서의 감시 필요성 및 요구가 확대되고 있다. 최근, 이와 관련된 기술과 제품이 개발되고 있기는 하지만, 대부분 특정 모바일 플랫폼에서만 서비스가 가능한 실정이다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 이러한 제약을 해결하기 위하여 기존의 다양한 모바일 플랫폼을 통합하여 플랫폼 간의 호환성과 이식성을 제공하는 WIPI를 기반으로 한 실시간 영상 감시용 뷰어를 개발하여, 네트워크 카메라로 접속하여 영상을 재생할 수 있도록 한다.

  • Extensible Storage Engine (ESE) database is a database developed by Microsoft. This database is used in web browser like Internet Explorer, Spartan and in Windows system with Windows Search, System Resource Usage Monitor. Previous ESE database viewer can display an incorrect result and can't read the file depending on collected environment and status of files. And the deleted record recovery tool is limited to some program and cannot recover all tables. This paper suggests the universal recovery method for deleted records and presents the experimental results through development of tool.

  • The general medical information service in hospital recently has been turned into ubiquitous environment. A key requirement in ubiquitous environment is the ability for communication between image viewer realized by DICOM standard and a server supporting medical information to make it possible. In order to apply the proposed scheme, we first realized the server/client networking in mobile terminal environment. Second, we realized DICOM viewer using a PDA to be capable of wireless communication in ubiquitous environment. Third, MIPS(Medical Information Processing System) utilized RFID system to apply the patient's information efficiently. In particular, it showed the capability to communicate image based system unlike previous text based communication.

  • BIM technologies based on three-dimensional parametric solid modeling can provide building industries with a wide range of information, and then enable not only to automate architectural drawings, detect clashes between building components, and estimate building materials, but also to manage effectively architectural and engineering information about building spaces, structures, energy, just-in-time delivery, facility management, and code checking. This paper presents an implementation to extract geometric data from IFC files, and validates the system with simple and complex buildings.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest knowledge-based digital library model that is applicable in korea university library. This paper provides brief accounts of research and development trends of digital library in referring some major digital library projects that are in progress, or just completed. There follows a suggestion of eight essential modules for knowledge-based digital library system, that are infrastructure development of dissertation presentation and database construction, management and service of collections, infrastructure construction of journal service, development of unified viewer, database conversion, distributed & integrated retrieval system, cyber campus(private work space), and database connection.

  • In these days mobile handsets have come to be used at almost every user. The mobility of mobile devices and the performance improvement of the mobile networks have made this trend possible. As a great variety of mobile applications are published, the necessity of running large-scale mobile applications becomes greater than before. To accomplish this, the existing researchers have developed mobile cluster computing libraries like Mobile-JPVM. In this paper, we implement a compute-intensive Animated GIF generating application and its cell phone viewer software using Mobile-JPVM library. We find out by the real execution of our softwares on the KTF handsets that they can sufficiently run on cellular phones. Our Animated GIF generator and its viewer are going to be commercially used for the mobile fashion advertisement systems.
