A Studies of Uranium Isotopes Determination in Environmental Samples Using TBP Extraction (TBP 용매추출법을 이용한 토양시료중 우라늄 동위원소 분석법 개선에 대한 연구)

  • Using the TBP slovent extraction method, a simple and precise method for determining uranium isotopes in the environment samples was developed. The soil sample was decomposed with $HNO_3$ and HF. Uranium isotopes were extracted with 15% TBP in $CCl_4$ from aqueous phase to organic phase, and Th fraction was removed with 8M HCl. Uranium fraction was purified in back extraction step with 1M HCl. Optimized electrode position conditions of uranium Isotopes were set using a new electrode position solution including a DTPA chelating agent. The new method of uranium isotopes determination was validated with a result of application to IAEA Reference Soils.

  • It was aimed to study the costume of Koryo dynasty based upon the one hundred and ten pictures of the writtened Budist scripture. The costume to study were made about 400 years during the King Mok-jong(1006) to the first year of the king Kong-yang based upon the Avatamaka Sutra and the Sutra of the Lotus. 가) Men's wear : 1. Hair style and hair dress : 1) Man bored a hair and put on the hat such as a Kuan, Kun, and Mo. The young boys binds his hair up one, two, and three knots, and tied up with a hair ribbon. A kinds of hats were Tung-t'ien-kuan(Yuan-yu-kuan) and Chin-hien-kuan and as a court dress. The man wore pok-여 as an official uniform and wore a pok-du , kun-mo as an everyday dress and wore a helmet as a solidier's uniform. 2. Clothes : 1) They wore Yuan-yu-kuan and Chin-hien -kuan as a court dress, and wore belt, boots, pleated decorated ling skirt also. They wore round shape collor big sleeve jacket, small sleeve long coat, belt , boots as an official dress. 2) the soldiers wore helmet, scarf, yangdang-kap , hung-kap, bak-kap, we-yo-kap, kun-kap and jok-kap and carries arms. 3) The young boys bind his hair up one, two and three angle shape an tied up a hair ribbons. 나) Women's wear : 1. Hair Style and hair dress : high rank ladies made their hair top knot (one, two, or more knots) and tied with hair ribbons , and decorated with precious stone, pan shape head dress , wheel shape head dress. 2. Compatibility test of Ganoderma strains based on Di-mon mating (Di-mon 교배에 의한 여지버섯균주의 화합성 검정)

  • Compatibility test of the 115 world-wide collections of Ganoderma strains including 61 of Korean origin, were performed by di-mon mating with tester strains G. lucidum G001-1 ($A_1B_1$) and G. tsugae 1109-16 ($A_1B_1$). Unexpected results were found in that 75 strains, formerly considered to be G. lucidum exhibited clamp connections in mating with the tester 1109-16. This observation suggests that these strains require further examination prior to taxonomic classification. Interestingly, this compatibility could be confirmed more easily by the finding of distinct confrontation line between two strains on plate.

  • In this study, Employment Status and Environment of Librarian, to investigate the employment prospect survey was conducted to the subjects of a librarian. The results of this study are as follows. First of all, employment environment of the library site base on the cognitive survey was showed that low wages, unstable jobs, difficulty in work due to staff placement that does not match majors, disagreement with the boss, self-regard as a librarian, excessive workload, a poor work environment etc. Second, the field workers preferred cultural program related electronic information organisation and service as the contents to be added to the curriculum of the library information department of the university. Third, the employment environment of irregular workers is characterised by high competition, low wages, high turnover number, and excessive workload. Fourth, The biggest problem when preparing for employment was the lack of employment information. Therefore, various improvement measures based on the results of the above studies are required, especially, construction of employment information system, Introduction of the field - based curriculum, specific employment conditions are required when hiring.

  • One hundred and two virulent(V) strains of Cryphonectria parasitica were isolated from the cankers of American chestnut (Castanea dentata) trees in western Massachusetts, USA. The diversity of vegetative compatibility groups (VCGs) of C. parasitica was investigated. One hundred and two strains represented 54 VCGs; 38 VCGs had only one strain each, 6 VCGs had 2 strains each, and 10 most common VCGs had 52 strains. Great diversity in VCGs may due to the increasing numbers of VCGs with time since the pathogen has been in Massachusetts for 80 years. Ten vegetative compatibility representative strains were selected from the 10 most common VCGs and converted to hypovirulent (H) strains through the pairing and hyphal anastomosis of H strains (4 strains with French dsRNA elements and 17 strains with Italian dsRNA elements). All of the 10 representative strains were converted to H strains by at least more than one of the H strains.

  • 핵연료 피복관은 핵연료에서 방사성 핵분열생성물의 방출을 저지하는 가장 뚱요한 방어막인데, 현재 지르칼로이 4가 피복관의 재료로 사용되고 있다. 사용후 핵연료는 원자력발전소내 습식 저장조에 저장되고 있으나, 지속적인 관리와 장소확보의 용이 성으로 인해 건식 저장조를 사용하는 추세에 있다. 본 연구에선 건식 저장조에 장 기간 저장되는 핵연료 피복관에 주변 환경으로부터 오염될 수 있는 소금기나 기름 등이 지르칼로이의 공기중 산화에 미치는 영향의 존재를 밝히려 한다. 현재 고리 원자력발전소에서 사용중인 핵연료 피복관을 1cm정도 높이로 자르고, 피복관 표면 을 ASTM -G2-88 방법으로 처리한 후 산화실험을 수행하였다. 산화정도는 간헐적 (intermittent) 방법을 사용하여 시편의 무게를 측정하여 구하였으며, 산화온도는 $400-500^{\circ}C$로 하였다. 소금이 흡착이 된 경우, 산화 속도는 흡착이 안된 시편보다 가속되었으며, 거의 이차법칙을 따르고 있다. 산화막 위의 흡착물의 영향을 알아보기 위해, 지르칼로이를 $500^{\circ}C$ 수증기에 $5g/m^2$ 두께로 산화시킨 후, 다시 산화실험을 수행하였다. 사용한 흡착물은 LiF, NaF, KF, NaCI 이다. 흡착물들은 산화를 대체로 가속시켰으며, NaF, KF, NaCI 순으로 그 영향력이 컸다. 그러나, LiF는 산화에 전혀 영향을 미치지 않았다. SIMS를 사용하여 각 시편의 두께에 따른 흡착물의 분포 를 알아보았다. 음이온(CI, F)과 양이온(Na, Li, K)이 산화막과 금속 경계면까지 관 찰되었으며, 음이온과 양이온의 분포는 대게 동일하였다. LiF의 경우 산화막에서 이들의 농도가 급격히 떨어지고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 산화막 내에서 이들 흡착물의 확산이 산화속도 가속의 원인이며 이들 흡착물중 CI과 F는 산화막과 금속 겸계면 에서 새로 생성되는 산화막의 강도에 영향을 미쳐, 일찍 미세균열을 만들기 시작하여 산화를 가속시키는 것으로 판단된다.

Ti-Ni합금에 생성하는 나노튜브 산화막의 형태 및 성장거동

  • [서론] Pure Ti 및 Ti합금의 양극산화법에 의해 만들 수 있는 자기조직화된 나노튜브피막은 광촉매, 태양전지 등 다양한 분야에서 많은 연구가 되고 있다. 양극산화법에 의해 생성되는 산화피막층의 성장거동에 대해서 지금까지 용액의 pH, 온도 및 인가전압 등 양극산화조건의 영향에 대해 많은 연구가 보고 되었다. 하지만, 양극산화에 사용되는 기판의 특성에 대해서는 많은 연구가 이루어지지 않고 있다. 본 연구에서는 pure Ti 및 Ti-Ni합금에 양극산화법에 의해 생성하는 나노튜브 피막층의 성장거동에 대해 기판의 특성(Ni농도 변화 및 phase변화)이 피막층의 형태 및 성장거동에 미치는 영향에 대해서 조사 하였다. [실험방법] Sample은 pure Ti 및 Ti-xNi(x=49.0, 51.1, 52.2, 52.5 at.%)를 이용하였다. Ti-Ni합금은 아크용해로 제작 후 $1000^{\circ}C$ 에서 24시간 균질화 처리 후 20% 냉간압연을 하였다. 합금의 조성 및 결정구조 분석은 EPMA 및 XRD를 통해 조사 하였고, 양극산화는 미량의 물 및 불화암모늄을 포함한 에틸렌글리콜 용액에서 20, 35, 50V 20분간 실시하였다. 양극산화법에 의해 형성한 산화피막층은 FE-SEM 및 TEM을 통해 관찰 하였다. [결론] Pure Ti의 경우 모든 조건에서 나노튜브형태의 산화막이 형성되는 것을 알 수 있었다. 하지만, Ti-Ni 합금의 경우 20V, 35V에서는 sponge 형태의 산화막이 형성되고, 50V에서만 나노튜브형태의 산화막이 형성 되었다. 또한, 모든 시편에서 양극산화 시간이 증가함에 따라 나노튜브형태의 산화막은 sponge 형태로 구조적 변화가 일어나는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그리고, 기판 Ni농도가 증가 함에 따라 형성되는 산화막의 형태 변화는 가속화 되는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 결과는 양극산화 초기 Ti의 우선적 산화에 의해 Ti과잉의 나노튜브층이 생성되고, 동시에 산화막과 합금계면에 Ni과잉층이 형성되는 것을 알 수 있었다. 산화막과 합금계면에 생성된 Ni과잉층에 의해 양극산화 시간이 증가함에 따라 sponge형태의 산화막이 생성되는 것을 알 수 있었다.

Removal of Humic Acid Using Titanium Dioxide Nanotube Thin Film Fabricated by Anodization (양극산화로 제작된 이산화티타늄 나노튜브 박막을 이용한 휴믹산 제거)

  • Titanium dioxide nanotubes were fabricated by self-organized electrochemical potentiostatic anodization of titanium thin film with an electrolyte solution of sodium sulfate 1M and sodium flouride 0.5wt% aqueous solution at 20$^{\circ}C$ for 20min. Field Emmision Scanning Electron Microscopy(FE-SEM) and X-ray Diffractometer(XRD) were used to evaluate the micromorphology and crystalline structure of the titanium dioxide nanotube thin film. Titanium dioxide nanotube were fabricated with diameters approx. 100nm and tube length from appox. 1 $\mu$m. Titanium dioxide films formed through anodization and annealing process at 450$^{\circ}C$ contained a phase of anatase. Also, this study was performed to evaluate the application of titanium dioxide thin film for treating humic acid dissolved in water. The reaction tended to follow the Langmuir-Hinshelwood kinetics with zero order. Comparative experiments with thin film and anatase powder showed the same zero order kinetics when 0.3g of powder had been used.

Validation of analysis of urinary fluoride by ion selective electrode method (이온선택전극법에 의한 소변 중 불소 이온 분석법 검증)

  • A simple and sensitive analytical method for fluoride in urine by ion selective electrode (ISE) method was presented. Traditional buffer for fluoride determination using ISE is acetate-based one. Researchers have pointed out some drawbacks of the buffer for fluoride ISE analysis, and some other buffers including citrate-ammonium buffer and MES buffer have been studied for accurate determination of fluoride in urine here. These buffers provided promising results in environmental field, and this author focused on overcoming the interference of co-existing aluminium. The results show that MES-CyDTA buffer gave the best recovery with accuracy of 95-97.5% and precision of 1.9-7.9% for reference sample of 1.8-7.8 mg/L fluoride in urine, with smaller amount of samples and shorter analysis time compared with the traditional method which used acetate buffer. The method was applied to field samples, and which showed urinary of $0.98{\pm}0.38mg/g$ creatinine for workers in electric cable manufacturing factory (n=15) and $0.59{\pm}0.30mg/g$ creatinine for non-exposed workers (n=12).

Expression and regulation of self-incompatible genes in Brassica (배추과 작물의 자가불화합성 유전자의 발현 및 조절)

  • In most self-incompatible plant species, recognition of self-pollen is controlled by a single locus, termed the S-locus. The self-incompatibility (SI) system in Brassica is controlled sporophytically by multiple alleles at a single locus, designated as S, and involves cell-cell communication between male and female. Two highly polymorphic S locus genes, SLG (S locus glycoprotein) and SRK (S receptor kinase), have been identified, both of which are expressed predominantly in the stigmatic papillar cell. Gain-of-function experiments have demonstrated that SRK solely determines S haplotype-specificity of the stigma, while SLG enhances the recognition reaction of SI. The sequence analysis of the S locus genomic region of B. campestris (syn. rapa) has led to the identification of an anther-specific gene, designated as SP11/SCR, which is the male S determinant. Molecular analysis has demonstrated that the dominance relationships between S alleles in the stigma were determined by SRK itself, but not by the relative expression level. In contrast, the expression of SP11/SCR from the recessive S allele was specifically suppressed in the S heterozygote, suggesting that the dominance relationships in pollen were determined by the expression level of SP11/SCR. Furthermore, recent studies on recessive allele-specific DNA methylation of Brassica self-incompatibility alleles demonstrate that DNA methylation patterns in plants can vary temporally and spatially in each generation. In this review, we firstly present overview of self incompatibility system in Brassica and then describe dominance relationships in Brassica self- incompatibility regulated by allele-specific DNA methylation.
