The purpose of this study is to explore the meaning of happiness and unhappiness in Korean society through text mining analysis. Similar words with keywords(happiness/unhappiness) from online news portal are extracted using Word2Vec and TF-IDF method. We also use the K-LIWC dictionary to perform the sentiment analysis of words associated with happiness and unhappiness. In TF-IDF analysis, happiness and unhappiness are highly related to social factors and social issues of the year. In Word2Vec analysis, 'Hope' has been similar with happiness for six years. In K-LIWC analysis, 'money/financial issues', 'school', 'communication' is highly related with happiness and unhappiness. In addition, 'physical condition and symptom' is highly related to unhappiness. Implications, limitations, and suggestions for future research are also discussed.

The study explores how academic strain, unhappiness, and mobile phone dependency among adolescents have changed over time. And we conducted the longitudinal and complex analysis on the influence of academic strain on unhappiness and mobile phone dependency in order to search the ways to prevent a vicious circle among them. We used general strain theory as a conceptual research frame and analysed the data of 1,589 respondents of the 2nd~4th Korean Children and Youth Panel with latent growth modeling. It was found that the levels of academic strain, unhappiness, and mobile phone dependency among adolescents were linearly increased across time. Academic strain initial status positively affected unhappiness initial status and both the initial status and change rate of mobile phone dependency. The change rate of unhappiness positively affected that of mobile phone dependency. Academic strain change rate positively influenced that of mobile phone dependency mediated by unhappiness change rate. We provided useful implications to academic activities, negative emotions, and mobile phone dependency for adolescents and suggested future studies about reasons of the changes of those variables.

As Korea became one of the oldest countries in the world, successful aging emerged as an important issue to individuals as well as to society. This study aims to determine not only the Korean seniors' happiness and unhappiness factors but also the means to enhance their happiness and deal with unhappiness. We collected news articles related to the happiness and unhappiness of seniors with nine keywords based on Alderfer's ERG Theory. We then applied a topic modeling technique, Latent Dirichlet Allocation, to examine the main issues underlying the seniors' happiness and unhappiness. According to the analysis, we investigated the conditions of happiness and unhappiness by inspecting the topics based on each keyword. We also conducted a detailed analysis based on the main factors from topic modeling. We proposed specific ways to increase and overcome the happiness and unhappiness of seniors, respectively, in terms of government, corporate, family, and other social welfare organizations. This study indicates the major factors that affect the happiness and unhappiness of seniors. Specific methods to boost happiness and relief unhappiness are suggested from the additional analysis.

Objectives: We studied the relationship between health behavior and subjective unhappiness in high school students. Methods: Using 27,097 responses from the 2015 Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey for general high school students. we analyzed by multiple logistic regression based on the complex sample design Results: Unhappiness was positively related with the low economic status, smoking, drinking, fast foods intake, and negatively related with fruit intake in results of multiple logistic regression. Conclusion: Health behaviors have a significant impact on the unhappiness of high school students. Therefore, in-depth research and policies to decrease unhappiness of high school students through health promotion are required.
