문화부 선정 '이달의 문화인물' 승 일연과 그의 "삼국유사"

  • "삼국유사"의 전체구조는 '잡록'적 성격의 고기록과 불교 신이담의 집성이지만, 이 고기록중에 일연 당시까지는 있었으나 그후 소멸된 기록이 상당수 포함돼 있다는 점에서 매우 소중하다. "삼국유사"의 여러 편목중 '기이' 속에는 가장 한국적이라고 말할 수 있는 내용으로 가득하다.

  • This paper is concerned with the mathematical concept displayed in Buddhism, which is reasonable enough to consider as a philosophy and encompasses the concept of infinity as scientific as that of mathematics. The purpose of this paper is to examine the changing process of the Buddhism concept of infinity on the basis of time sequence and to combine this with that of mathematics.

On the Characteristics of Buddhist Temples with Korean National cultural properties in Kum Kang(Kum-river) Area (금강지역의 불교건축특징)

  • The aim of this research is to find-out the characteristics of Buddhist temples with relevant to Korean National cultural properties in Kum Kang(Kum-river) area. This analysis is accomplished by setting up the speciflc viewpoints where the charateristics can be perceived, and by measuring the form and angle from these points to the buddist culture ; 124 items were selected and analyzed by the comparative method. The most Important research finding is that both Traditonal Korean Temple and Kum Kang(Kum-river) Area site conceptualized and used a certain geometrical Feng-shui(geomancy) order in the disposition of mountain and river side according to the principles of human cognition. The conclusions are as follows ; Buddhist culture and the Characteristics of Buddhist temples in Kum Kang(Kum-river) Area having accumulated from the past and are the cultural complex and mixture of 7 elements. They also reflect cultural situations of each time period. The temples are a result of Korean traditional thought and spirit, as well as, regarding tradition as an important factor.

『合部金光明經』 간행과 『高麗大藏經』 각성사업

  • 이 연구는 강화경판 『高麗大藏經』에 入藏된 『合部金光明經』과 13세기 중엽에 간행된 것으로 추정되는 口訣本 『合部金光明經』의 조성에 참여한 刻成人에 대해 살펴본 것이다. 국가적·범종파적 사업으로 전개된 각성사업에 『합부금광명경』이 조성되고 있는데도 불구하고, 구결본 『합부금광명경』 조성에 참여한 이들은 각성사업과 어떤 관련성을 갖고 있는지 검토해 보았다. 이에 『고려대장경』에 입장된 『합부금광명경』과 구결본 『합부금광명경』을 상호 비교해 본 결과 경전의 내용과 板式, 그 구성 체계가 相異한 본이었다. 그리고 彫成에 참여한 각성인을 조사해 본 결과 『고려대장경』에는 ‘부령’이었고, 구결본은 ‘存植’, ‘立成’, ‘正安’, ‘孝兼’ 등이었다. ‘存植’, ‘正安’, ‘孝兼’은 고종 24년부터 16년간 전개된 각성사업에 참여한 각성인들과 동일 인물이었다. 특히 ‘孝兼’은 자신을 비구라고 밝힌 점으로 볼 때 당시 활동하던 刻字僧으로 파악된다. ‘存植’과 ‘正安’은 고종 33년에 간행된 『禪門三家拈頌集』과 13세기 중엽에 간행된 『圓覺類解』, 『弘贊法華傳』의 조성에도 참여하고 있는 것으로 보아 전문 刻手로 보여진다. 그래서 각성사업에 참여한 각성인들은 각자의 여건에 따라 활동하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 『合部金光明經』은 『妙法蓮華經』·『仁王經』과 함께 호국삼부경 중의 하나로서 고려시기에 수시로 간행되고 있었다. 『금광명경』은 국가를 보호하고 내우외환을 소멸시키기 위해 왕실을 비롯한 관료층들이 깊이 존신하고 권장하려 하였던 불교 경전이었다. 특히 대외관계상의 위기상황에는 『금광명경』을 바탕으로 하는 功德天道場이라는 호국적 성격의 법회를 개최되고 있었다. 따라서 『합부금광명경』의 간행 배경에는 『고려대장경』이 국왕을 정점으로 반외세력인 몽고군을 격퇴시키고, 또 최씨무인정권으로부터 왕권을 회복시키고자 시대적 분위기가 적극 반영되어 있다. 구결본 『합부금광명경』의 간행은 민족적·국가적 사업이었던 각성사업에 적극 동참하면서 현실을 직시하고 고려 불교의 창조적 발전은 물론 외세의 침략으로부터 조국을 지키고자 하는 호국의식을 바탕에 두고 있었다. 〔주제어〕『高麗大藏經』, 『合部金光明經』, 刻成人, 최씨무인정권, 護國經

A Study on the Layout of Early Chinese Buddhist Temples - Focusing on the Literature from the Eastern Han Dynasty to the Northern and Southern Dynasties - (중국 초기 불교사원 배치에 관한 연구 - 후한(後漢)부터 남북조(南北朝)까지의 문헌을 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze the layout of Early Chinese Buddhist Temples from the Eastern Han Dynasty to the Northern and Southern Dynasties. The results are as follows: 1) In the Eastern Han Dynasty and Three Kingdoms Period, the layout of Temples was a pagoda-centered system which had one-courtyard. The layout of Temples in this period was still under the influence of Indian Temples. 2) In the Western and Eastern Jin Dynasties, the layout of Temples was still a pagoda-centered system. However, many buildings began to appear in Temples after the mid-4th century. In the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Twin pagodas started to appear in Temples. 3) In the Northern and Southern Dynasties, there were many layout types, but the main form was the layout of front Pagoda and rear Buddhist Hall. The layout of Temples in this period was in a transition stage, which evolved from a pagoda-centered Temple which had one-courtyard and after developed into a Buddhist Hall-centered Temple which had multi-courtyard.

A study on the Consolidation Characteristics of remolding Marine Clay and Weathered Granite Soil by SCT and CRSC (표준.일정변형률속도 압밀시험을 이용한 해성점토.화강암질 풍화토의 압밀특성에 관한 연구)

  • We have remolded marine clay sample collected along the vertical and horizontal directions and investigated the characteristics of the consolidation constants by SCT and CRSC methods. We have studied also on consolidation chracteristics and application for weathered granite soil using SCT and CRSC methods for undisturbed and disturbed samples. As the result, values of pre-consolidation stress, compression index, excessive pore pressure, pore water pressure ratio of the marine-clay were different due to different test methods(SCT and CRSC) and sampling directions(vortical and horizontal directions). Disturbed and undisturbed samples of the weathered granite soil have showed similar change aspect like marine clay during over-consolidatied and normally consolidatied stages.

  • This study aims to determine the effects of sample movement and storage on sample disturbance. To this end, non-disturbed samples collected from the OOregion, Gwangyang City, Jeonranam-do. Then, unconfined compression and consolidation tests were performed on the samples in the field, Seoul Lab and Seoul Lab after 4 weeks. Based on failure strain rate$(\epsilon_f)$, volume strain rate$(\epsilon_{\nu})$, and void ratio change$({\Delta}e/e_0)$ obtained from the test results, sample disturbance was evaluated. The sample disturbance level was used to compare and analyze the influences of transportation and storage on sample disturbance.

  • The present study aims at exploring in detail the Buddhist worldview and aesthetics of humor in Jo O-hyeon's literary works. This includes the same context as an elucidation of the ways in which his poems closely correspond in expressive forms and thematic contents. It is because, in Jo's literary world, where short poems and prose poems form a contrast, the expressive forms and thematic contents sharply differ depending on the ways in which prajnapti (provisional designation) is either foregrounded or backgrounded. In his literary world, when such a view of language and a worldview based on prajnapti are foregrounded, works that either inherit or play a variation on the fixed structure of the sijo emerge; and when they recede to the rear and are backgrounded, verses in the form of the prose poem are formulated. In addition, in Jo's literary works, where such a worldview of prajnapti and an aesthetics of secular humor intersect together, the thoughts on bheda-abheda(difference-non-difference) and the madhyama-pratipad (middle way) are formed. Such thoughts have considerable significance because they not only harbor a possibility of deconstructing and overcoming the opposition of the sacred/profane but also present a vision of a new unity.

Semantic Analysis and Visualization on The Palyupsimryun Mandala (팔엽심련만다라(八葉心蓮曼陀羅)의 의미분석과 시각화)

  • In this paper, the characteristics and structural meaning of the Palyupsimryeon mandala, which represent the high spiritual world among Korean traditional cultural relics, are analyzed and visualized. Various studies on foreign mandalas are being introduced, but there is a lack of systematic analysis of the meaning of existing Korean mandalas. In this paper, we visualize the seeds of the Palyupsimryeon mandala in Korea by matching them with the image of the mandala, which is based on the shape of the mandala. Through this process, it shows that Korea's unique seed mandala has a form of mandala that combines the existing the Diamond World Mandala and the Matrix Mandala. Applications include Mandara's characterization, digital storytelling, and games.
