A 10-month-old intact male Labrador Retriever dog was referred with the primary complaint of exercise intolerance, especially after vigorous exercise. Physical examination revealed split S1 and grade III/VI diastolic regurgitant murmur at the left apex and base, respectively. ECG finding was normal sinus rhythm at rest, but supraventricular tachycardia with bundle branch blocks after exercise. Thoracic radiography revealed dilated ascending aorta with normal range of cardiac silhouette (VHS 10.2). Echocardiography revealed abnormal valvular structures just above the aortic valvular cusps causing aortic regurgitation with a reduction of left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF). Based on those findings, the case was diagnosed as congenital aortic regurgitation caused by abnormal valvular structures. The dog was managed with diltiazem and exercise restriction. This is a rare case of aortic deformity in dogs.

In order to investigate the alkaline phosphtase activities in the mouse oocytes in matuation and preimplantation embryos in developing in culture, the enzyme activities were measured by means of biochemical method. The in vitro effect of levamisole which is known as an inhibitor of the lakaline phosphatase was also observed on the oocyte in maturation and the embryos in early embryogenesis. The results obtained were as follows: The enzyme activity was not detected in the embryos unitl the stage of 4-cell, but it appeared first in the 4-cell embryos and the level of the activity was steady through up to the blastocyst. Levamisole inhibited the alkaline phosphatase activity in the blastocyst, and the activity decreased by almost 70% at 10 mM and 50% at 1 mM as compared with the control. In addition, levamisole inhibited completely the formation of polar body by the oocytes. and induced degeneration of the preimplantation embryos at the dose of 0.5 mM or higher.

Morphology and characteristics of floral organ in highbush blueberry cultivars were studied to select suitable cultivars of highbush blueberry for domestic cultivation. The stamen consists an anther and a tape-like hairy filament with well-developed trichomes. When the anther was opened, the wall of anther was not dehiscent, and pollen grains were discharged into two tubes. Pollen was mature tetrad type without being separated after meiosis (Late March). The number of pollen granules per anther was 400~1,300, the germination rate was higher in the cultivars having many pollen grains. Pistil was composed of five carpels and a shipper without separate part. The number of ovules per ovary was 39~67, therefore, the coefficient of ranged from 11.6 to 31.0%. The seed pod formation by combination of ‘Bluejay’ and ‘Sharpblue’ was higher in the cross-pollination than in the self-pollination.

This paper is to examine in detail the relevant aspects of "Nature" and "Elegant Beauty" appearring in Cho, Chi-Hoon's poems and poetics. It uses the same context to explain the reasons and grounds for the inevitable, corresponding closely to his poetry and poetics. It is the core of Cho Chi-Hoon's poetry to determine "natural" new artistic views and his vision of ultra-modernism. This is consistent with the precise feature of "Elegant Beauty" in the midst of aesthetic categories profoundly discusseing his poetics. He regards a "lyric" as a vision of ultra-modernism, to overcome divisions and conflicts of values, "Truth Good Beauty", which was caused by modern science. Furthermore, it includes many social issues in accordance with the differentiation and specialization of each area. It is inferred to have been attempted to produce specifically was found to shape new images of "Nature" in the dimension of his poems, "Elegant Beauty" is overwhelmed with the aesthetic excellence of the other categories in the dimension of his poetics in this context.

The era we are living in is an era of hyperconnectivity where boundaries and limitations of each field and domain disappear and organically converge and share with each other. Christians living in the age of hyperconnectivity are losing their direction of life due to various divisions and severances, such as holiness and secularity, church and world, soul and body, faith and life, and humans and nature. However, in a hyperconnected society, it is necessary to break free from division and conflict caused by disconnection, and realize the kingdom of God through connection and solidarity between humans, nature, and the world. In order to explore the direction of Christian education for this purpose, this study examined the characteristics of the era of hyperconnectivity and the principle of solidarity, which is the core of hyperconnectivity. The theological meaning of solidarity was examined in terms of humans, nature, and the world, and based on this understanding, the direction of Christian education in the era of hyperconnectivity was sought. It can be summarized as having a religious understanding of human beings of Homoconnectus with a pericoretic mode of existence. Third, education on the kingdom of justice and peace where we can live together in a solidarity relationship can be summarized.

Purpose: Anhedonia has been proposed to be the result of a basic neurophysiologic dysfunction and a vulnerability marker that precede and contribute to the liability of developing schizophrenia. We hypothesized that anhedonia, as a construct reflecting the decreased capacity to experience pleasure, should be associated with decreased positive hedonic affect trait. This study examined the relationship between anhedonia and positive hedonic affect trait and searched for the brain legions which correlate with anhedonia in normal subjects. Materials and Methods: Using $^{18}F$-FDG PET scan, we investigated the brain activity of twenty one subjects during resting state. Questionnaires were administrated after the scan in order to assess the self-rated individual differences in physical/social anhedonia and positive/negative affect traits. Results: Negative correlation between physical anhedonia score and positive affect trait score was significant (Pearson coefficient =-0.440, p<0.05). The subjects physical and social anhedonia scores showed positive correlation with metabolic rates in the cerebellum and negative correlation with metabolic rates in the inferior temporal gyrus and middie frontal gyrus. In addition, the positive affect trait score positively correlated with various areas, most prominent with the inferior temporal gyrus. Conclusion: These results suggest that neural substrates, such as the inferior temporal gyrus and prefrontal-cerebellar circuit, which dysfunction has been proposed to be involved with the cognitive deficits of schizophrenia, may also play a significant role in the liability of affective deficits like anhedonia.

Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate the prognostic factors of postpsychotic depressive symptoms in patients with schizophrenia. Materials and Methods: Eighty patients were selected based on the diagnostic criteria from the DSM-IV, PANSS and ESRS. For all patients information was collected on demographic and clinical characteristics. The subjective depressive symptoms and the objective depressive symptoms, as well as patients insight regarding psychosis were evaluated. The subjective depressive symptoms were evaluated by BDI and ZDS; the objective depressive symptoms were evaluated by HDRS and CDSS, and patient insight into the psychosis was evaluated by KISP. Results: The comparisons using demographic and clinical characteristics showed that HDRS and CDSS had significant difference with regard to gender and suicide attempts; the BDI was associated with difference in education level and age of onset. The patients with scores above cuff-off score for each scale were 20(25.0%) for the BDI, 16(20.0%) for the ZDS, 18(22.5%) for the CDSS and 6(7.5%) for the HDRS. The results of the stepwise multiple regression analysis showed that the scores for the KISP, education levels, gender and suicide attempts were the main prognostic factors in patients with the psychotic depressive disorder of schizophrenia. Conclusion: The main prognostic factors in psychotic depressive disorder of schizophrenia included: insight into psychosis, suicidal attempts. Insight into the psychosis was the most reliable prognostic factor but this characteristic had a negative relationship to the with depressive symptoms.

Purpose: The anterior cruciate ligament(ACL) has a neuromuscular control function as evidenced by the presence within it of mechanoreceptor. Although these mechanoreceptors have been identified, the afferent somatosensory pathways from ACL to the cerebrum have yet to be demonstrated in their entirety. In order to trace these afferent pathway, we conducted a viral trans-synaptic tracing experiment using the neurotropic pseudorabies virus(PRV). Material and Methods: The PRV was injected into the ACL of rats and allowed to replicate and spread trans-synaptically for 6 to 7 days. The brain and spinal cord of each sacrificed rat was then removed and processed immunohistochemically to detect the presence of PRV. Results: PRV-immunoreactive neurons were found to be localized in several different regions from the spinal cord to the cerebrum. Four nuclei in the reticular formation of the brain stem demonstrated strong positive labeling: the mesencephalic reticular nucleus, magnocelluar reticular nucleus, paragigantocellular reticular nucleus, and gigantocellular reticular nucleus. Conclusions: This findings suggests that the nerve endings of the rat ACL project into the cerebrum and that the reticular formation may play an important role in the afferent pathway of those nerve endings.

The suppressing effects of crude extracts of three Korean teas, persimmon leaf tea extract (PLTE), green tea extract (GTE) and oolong tea extract (OTE), were studied on the induction of sister chromatid exchange (SCE) in cultured Chinese hamster ovary cells. When cells were treated with tea extract after mitomycin C (MMC) treatment, the frequency of MMC-induced SCEs were decreased at the high concentration $(1000\;{\mu}g/mL)$ of PLTE in the presence of S9 mix and at low concentrations $(20{\sim}80\;{\mu}g/mL)$ of PLTE in the absence of S9 mix, Whereas GTE and OTE showed suppressing effects on the MMC-induced SCEs at low concentrations $(10{\sim}20\;{\mu}g/mL)$ for OTE and $160\;{\mu}g/mL$ for GTE only in the presence of S9 mix. MMC-induced SCEs were decreased by post-treatment with each tea extracts with S9 mix in the G1 phase of the cell cycle. These results suggest that PLTE, GTE and OTE could have bio antimutagenic activities, and also suggest that PLTE might have unknown antimutagenic components which would be responsible for the inhibitory effect against direct acting mutagenicity.

This study tried to formulate and operate an interdisciplinary case management team in Eun-Pyung Gu, Seoul. This was a part of an effort to promote efficiency of service delivery system for low-income elderly or the handicapped by linking. coordinating. and integrating various health and human services providers. In-depth qualitative analysis described the process of which the interdisciplinary case management team was formed, along with the process of the team operation. The interdisciplinary team consisted of home helpers, visiting nurses, and social workers from Health Center and Social Welfare Centers. Issues dealt with by the team include: 1) information exchange of clients' social, economic, and medical situations; 2) identification of types of service provision to clients; 3) clients' needs assessment and its prioritization; 4) assignment of a leading case manager for each case; 5) identification of problems and issues regarding integration of service delivery system The team approach to case management contributed to the systematic delivery of services to the elderly and the handicapped by avoiding service duplication and fragmentation. This study argued that public agency played a key role in constituting and operating the interdisciplinary case management team Suggestions for further studies were presented.
