Adaptive dissolve detection based on video editing model (비디오 편집 모델에 기반한 적응적 디졸브 검출 방법)

  • In this Paper, we propose a dissolve detection method based on video editing model. Our method consists of two steps In the first step, the candidate regions are found by using the first md second derivative of a variance curve. In a variance curve, a dissolve presents a parabola that is downward convex. Therefore the parabola is found as a candidate region for a dissolve. In the second step, the candidate region is verified for a dissolve region. In each candidate region, a variance at a valley of the parabola corresponding to dissolve is estimated and then the candidate region is verified by using estimated valley's variance. The valley's variance is determined by neighbor scene variances, so proposed method is adaptive to detect dissolve with various variances. Experiment results on video of various content types are reported and validated.

The Group Velocity of Lamb Wave Generated by the one Source in Unidirectional Laminated Composite Plates (일방향 적층 복합재료 판에서 한 음원에서 발생된 램파의 군속도)

  • The elastic waves in a plate are dispersive waves due to the characteristics of Lamb waves. However, S0 symmetric mode is less dispersive in the frequency region below the first cut-off frequency. The wave Propagation velocities vary with the direction in anisotropic plates such as Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) Plates. The wave vector direction and energy flow vector direction are same in isotropic plates. However, the wave vector direction same as the phase velocity direction is not in accordance with the energy flow direction same as the group velocity direction in anisotropic plates. In this study. the dispersion curves or the phase velocity from anti-symmetric and symmetric Lamb wave dispersion equation are calculated for unidirectional laminated composite plate. Slowness surface is sketched using phase velocity under the first cut-off frequency. The direction and magnitude of group velocity are corrected with this slowness surface. The measured group velocities are in good agreement with the corrected group velocity curve except near the fiber direction zone which is called the cusp region.

Size and Dispersion Characteristics of Silver Nanoparticles Prepared Using Liquid Phase Reduction Method (액상환원법으로 제조한 은 나노입자의 크기와 분산특성)

  • This work investigates the size and dispersion characteristics of silver nanoparticles synthesized by a liquid phase reduction method using PAA. The experimental variables were the molecular weight and doses of the PAA, reducing agent, dispersant, and organic solvent (ethanol-acetone). UV-visible spectrophotometer results confirm the formation of the silver particles, and SEM indicates size in the nanometer range. As the ultrasonication time increases, there is a tendency toward smaller agglomerates of nanoparticles. The agglomerates were dispersed into 1-5 agglomerates of particles by ultrasonication for 3 hours or more. Relatively spherical nanoparticles were produced with a completely homogeneous dispersion and size of 49.56-85.75 nm by ultrasonication using BYK-192, a dispersant containing copolymer with a pigment affinic group. The average size of the silver nanoparticles was increased to 36.82, 50.66, and 56.06 nm with increasing molecular weight of PAA. Also, the size of the nanoparticles increased with the capping of PAA on the surfaces of the nanoparticles when increasing the amount of PAA. The addition of hydrazine as a reducing agent produced relatively small particles because many nuclei were created by the reduction reaction. The ethanol-acetone solvent helped with the regular arrangement of the silver nanoparticles.

  • Characteristics of transfer responses for arrays like triangle, hexagon and semicircle were investigated. To characterize the site near Izmit city with ambient noise measurement, dispersion curves of surface waves were derived with using array technique like F-K, High resolution F-K, MSPAC and H/V ratio was calculated. Also, MASW was surveyed to get the high frequency part of dispersion curves. The transition from fundamental mode to first high mode of surface waves for dispersion curve was observed. Dispersion curve of fundamental mode of ambient noise and first higher mode of MASW was used in inversion to get S-wave velocity structure of subsurface. None-unique problem of results of surface wave inversion was solved with comparison of result of refraction tomography performed with first arrivals of MASW data.

Characteristics of the Finite Difference Approximations for the Convective Dispersion Model (대류분산 모형에 관한 유한차분근사의 특성)

  • Five finite difference schemes (explicit, Bresler, implicit, upstream, and Chaudhari scheme) for the convective dispersion model are analyzed numerically to investigate their characteristics and applicabilities. Camparative study results show that the conditionally stable Chaudhari scheme has the smallest numerical dispersion and that the unconditionally stable Bresler scheme has the overshooting in regions of oscillation. Explicit scheme is the most accurate for a dispersion-dominated flow whereas Chaudhari scheme is for a convection-dominated flow. The computation time (CPU) is the shortest for the explicit or Chaudhari scheme with the same order of magnitude and is always the longest for the Bresler scheme.

  • 빅 데이터 분석의 시대가 도래하면서 대용량 데이터의 특성과 계산 집약적 연산의 특성을 동시에 가지는 문제 해결에 대한 요구가 늘어나고 있다. 대용량 데이터 처리의 경우 각종 분산 파일 시스템과 분산/병렬 컴퓨팅 기술들이 이미 많이 사용되고 있으며, 계산 집약적 연산 처리의 경우에도 GPGPU 활용 기술의 발달로 보편화되는 추세에 있다. 하지만 대용량 데이터와 계산 집약적 연산 이 두 가지 특성을 모두 가지는 문제를 처리하기 위해서는 많은 제약 사항들을 해결해야 하는데, 본 논문에서는 이에 대한 대안으로 분산 컴퓨팅 프레임워크인 Hadoop MapReduce와 Nvidia의 GPU 병렬 컴퓨팅 아키텍처인 CUDA 흘 연동하는 방안을 제시하고, 이를 밀집행렬(dense matrix) 연산에 적용했을 때 얻을 수 있는 성능 개선 효과에 대해 소개하고자 한다.

Flow Characteristics of Al2O3 Nanofluids with Nanoparticles of Various Shapes (나노입자 형상 변화에 따른 알루미나 나노유체의 유동 특성)

  • To study the flow characteristics of water-based $Al_2O_3$ nanofluids according to the shape of the nanoparticles, we measure the pressure drop in a fully developed laminar flow regime. Water-based $Al_2O_3$ nanofluids of 0.3 Vol.% with sphere-, rod-, platelet-, and brick-shaped nanoparticles are manufactured by the two-step method. Zeta potential is measured to examine the suspension and dispersion characteristics, and TEM image is considered to confirm the shape characteristics of the nanoparticles. The experimental results show that the pressure drop of $Al_2O_3$ nanofluids depends on the shape of the nanoparticles although the nanofluids has same volume fraction of nanoparticles. This is explained by the surface area per unit mass of the nanoparticles and the size of the nanoparticles suspended in the base fluids.

Dispersion of nanosized noble metals in $TiO_2$ matrix and their photoelectrode properties ($TiO_2$ 매트릭스에 나노사이즈의 귀금속 분산과 광전극 특성)

  • Nanocomposites based on coupling $TiO_2$ matrix with nanosized noble metals (Pt,Au) particles exhibited promising photoelectrode properties. The $M/TiO_2$ (M=Pt,Au) nanocomposite thin films were deposited on quartz and ITO glass substrates using a co-sputtering method. $TiO_2$ in rutile form is the dominant crystalline phase for as-deposited nanocomposite films. Along with heat treatment up to $600^{\circ}C$, XRD peaks of the rutile phase as well as those of noble metal increased in intensity and decreased in width, indicating the growth of crystallites. The anodic photocurrents of $M/TiO_2$ (M=Au,Pt) thin films were observed not only in the UV range but also in the visible light range. The photocurrent of the nanocomnosite films extended to the visible light region by dispersion of nano-sized noble metal in the $TiO_2$ matrix.

  • LCP (Liquid Crystal Polymer)/BT(BaTiO$_3$) composite was prepared by mixing LCP varnish and BT slurry. And the effect of the composition of LCP/BT composites and the size of BT powder on dielectric properties of LCP/BT composite were investigated. The dispersion properties of BT slurries were also studied as a function of volume fraction of dispersant, GLYMO (3-glycidyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane) added to various sized BT powders. The quantity of optimum dispersant in BT slurry decreased with an increase of BT powder size because of the decrease of specific surface area of BT powder. LCP/BT composite sheet was prepared by tape-casting method with mixing BT slurry and LCP varnish. The dielectric constant of the composites increased from 34.3 to 44.1 and their dielectric loss increased from 0.05 to 0.063 as the size of BT powder increased from 100 nm to 500 nm.

Fabrication of nano/micro hybrid compositesusing a discharge flocking device (방전식모 장치를 이용한 나노/마이크로 하이브리드 복합재 제조)

  • One of the biggest challenges in the nano-field is how to effectively disperse nano-scale particles, especially CNTs, which are strongly agglomerated by intermolecular van der Waals forces. This study suggests a new method, discharge flocking, in order to disperse nano-scale particles effectively, which combines corona discharge phenomenon and a traditional electrostatic flocking process. In order to evaluate the discharge flocking process, composite specimens were fabricated by the process and RFI(resin film infusion) process, and then the mechanical and electrical properties of the specimens were measured and compared. Moreover, the evaluation of gas discharge effect on the CNTs and epoxy was performed to compare the mechanical and electrical properties of the composite specimens including the plasma treated CNTs. The experimental results showed that the electrical and mechanical properties of the specimens fabricated by the discharge flocking process were similar to those of the RFI process. In addition, plasma treated CNTs were not affected by gas discharge during the discharge flocking process.
