Design of a Z39.50 Server, and Integration of the Z39.50 Server and Database Engines using COBRA (Z39.50 서버의 설계 및 CORBA를 이용한 Z39.50 서버와 데이터베이스 엔진의 통합)

  • The CORBA presents the method of integrating heterogeneous systems in the distributed environment. In recent, many existing information retrieval servers with Z19.50 protocol have been developed and used in the libraries and companies, etc. The servers construct each database and provide users with various information services. In this paper, we design and implement a Z39.50 server that supports various Z39.50 protocol services over the existing servers. We also integrate various database engines and the Z39.50 server using CORBA. Our Z39.50 server basically provides the init service, the search service, and the close service. In addition, it supports the scan service browsing a term list, the segment service presenting large records, and the explain facility explaining the implementation information of the server.

  • The exponential increase of digital contents brought about the e-Challenge crisis to the librarians. How can all the e-resources be managed effectively? How can we detect all the broken links? How can we assist the users to the right resources? This paper concentrates on building CLICK(Cooperative Link Center in KOREA) as a knowledge compass by collecting diverse science & technology information and creating tight coupled links between information resources for reference linking and providing users with the optimal route for the resource per user. If the publishers, Abstract & Index DB, Searching Portal, Electronic Libraries, Full-text DB and Aggregator can be linked by using a standardized way through a CLICK, the service channels can be diversified. Users can select the channels without rein under according to a use purpose and conditions.

  • Context-Aware is a one of the important researches in ubiquitous computing for providing optimal service to users by acquiring user's intentions and environmental information. Diverse researches are focused on the users and its environment facts for Context-Aware base and introduce a sensing based middleware which engages sever/sensor that operates identifier information to provide services. Context-Aware service which is limited by users and environment facts has the problem of overlapping sensing, unnecessary searching and anonymity of users. Also Server-Centric Context-Aware system requires very high cost to manage and operate the services. On this paper, We introduce Autogenous Context service model to simplify the Context-Aware process and design the middleware which performs decentralize management for Context-Aware information of user's portable devices to minimize problems which is occurred during the management and operation of existing Context-Aware system.

Data Mining Approaches for DDoS Attack Detection (분산 서비스거부 공격 탐지를 위한 데이터 마이닝 기법)

  • Recently, as the serious damage caused by DDoS attacks increases, the rapid detection and the proper response mechanisms are urgent. However, existing security mechanisms do not effectively defend against these attacks, or the defense capability of some mechanisms is only limited to specific DDoS attacks. In this paper, we propose a detection architecture against DDoS attack using data mining technology that can classify the latest types of DDoS attack, and can detect the modification of existing attacks as well as the novel attacks. This architecture consists of a Misuse Detection Module modeling to classify the existing attacks, and an Anomaly Detection Module modeling to detect the novel attacks. And it utilizes the off-line generated models in order to detect the DDoS attack using the real-time traffic. We gathered the NetFlow data generated at an access router of our network in order to model the real network traffic and test it. The NetFlow provides the useful flow-based statistical information without tremendous preprocessing. Also, we mounted the well-known DDoS attack tools to gather the attack traffic. And then, our experimental results show that our approach can provide the outstanding performance against existing attacks, and provide the possibility of detection against the novel attack.

  • Improved reliability of microarray data and its reproducibility lead to recent increment in demand of data sharing and utilization among laboratories, but house-keeping and publicly opened microarray experimental data can hardly be accessed and utilized since they are in heterogeneous formats according to the various experimental methods and microarray platforms. In this paper, we propose a microarray sharing method which can easily retrieve and integrate microarray data from different experiment platforms, data formats, normalization methods, and analysis methods. Our system is based on web-service technology. The biologists of each site are able to search UDDI(Universal Description, Discovery, and Integration) registry, and download microarray data with common data structure of standard format recommended by MGED(Microarray Gene Expression Databases) society. The common data structure defined in this paper consists of IDF(Investigation Design Format), ADF(Array Design Format), SDRF(Sample and Relationship Format), and EDF(Expression Data Format). These components play role as templates to integrate microarray data with various structure and can be stored in standard formats such as MAGE-ML, MAGE-TAB, and XML Schema. In addition, our system provides advanced tools of automatic microarray data submitter and file manager to manipulate local microarray data efficiently.

  • 최근의 위치 측위 기술과 무선 통신 기술의 발전에 따라 위치 기반 서비스에 대한 관심이 크게 증가하고 있다. 기존 연구의 단일 노드 기반 시스템으로는 휴대폰 사용자와 같은 대용량의 객체를 처리하는데 어려움이 있다. 본 논문에서는 대용량 이동 객체의 시공간 정보를 관리하기 위해 클러스터 기반 분산 컴퓨팅 구조로 제안된 GALIS(Gracefully Aging Location Information System)의 아키텍쳐 중 객체의 현재 위치 정보를 관리하는 SLDS(Short-term Location Data Subsystem)의 프로토 타입을 개발하였다. 본 논문에서 구현한 시스템은 메인 메모리 데이터 베이스를 사용하여 디스크 접근 시간이 없고 현재 정보와 과거 정보를 분리하여 빠른 검색이 가능하기 때문에 대용량 이동 객체를 관리하며 빠른 응답을 필요로 하는 상황에 효과적으로 대응할 수 있는 이점이 있다.

Introduction of Design Framework for Multidisciplinary Design Optimization (다분야통합최적설계를 위한 설계프레임웍의 소개)

  • MDO프레임웍은 설계 작업을 통합적으로 관리하고 자동화하여 설계도구 간의 데이터 전달과 변환에 소요되는 설계자의 부담을 경감시키며 다분야 전문가가 참여하는 협동설계 환경을 제공함으로써 다분야를 동시에 고려한 효율적 설계를 지원한다. 이번 글에서는 이러한 MDO프레임웍으로 개발된 EMDIOS를 소개하고, 그 개발 배경과 타당성을 개략적으로 제시하였다. EMDIOS는 분산 환경을 제공하고, 데이터베이스와 연계되어 정의된 문제와 문제 풀이 절차를 저장하고 실행시 발생하는 데이터들을 체계적으로 관리하는 구조를 갖는다. MDO문제 해결에 필요한 도구들은 모두 소프트웨어 컴포넌트로 구성 및 기술되어 컴포넌트 등록기에 등록되어 저장된다. 등록된 컴포넌트는 GUI기반의 MDO커널에 의하여 검색되고 MDO문제해결 절차의 구성 요소가 된다. 구성된 문제 해결을 위한 실행은 컴포넌트 서비스 에이전트에 의하여 이루어진다. EMDIOS는 새로운 설계도구를 EMDIOS에 쉽게 통합하여 사용할 수 있도록 공통적으로 구현될 수 있는 부분을 구현한 추상 클래스와 이로부터 필요한 인터페이스를 생성할 수 있는 인터페이스 제조기를 제공함으로써 확장성과 개방성을 제공한다. 제시된 MDO 프레임웍의 사용자 인터페이스는 가장 많은 사용자를 확보하고 있는 윈도우 환경에서 Visual C++를 이용하여 개발되고 있으며, 다양한 OS환경에서 작동되어야 하는 래퍼는 JAVA로 개발하였다. 현재 개발된 EMDIOS는 다양한 벤치 마크 테스트 중이며 올해 9월이후에는 일반에게도 공개할 수 있는 프레임웍으로써 모습을 갖출 것으로 보인다.

  • 최근 들어, B2B 전자상거래를 위해 각 관련 표준 단체 및 기업들에서는 기존에 거래해 오던 기업은 물론 새로운 기업들간의 거래에 있어서 보다 효과적인 정보 교환 및 처리를 위해 ebXML, 웹 서비스 등 다양한 프레임워크를 개발하고 있다. 그러나, 현재 실제적인 e-비즈니스 적용에 있어서는 비즈니스 정보의 분산성과 이질성, 키워드 기반의 정보 검색으로 인한 어려움 등 많은 문제점들을 가지고 있다. 이에, 본 논문에서는 현재의 e-비즈니스 기술과 실제 적용에 있어 해결해야할 문제점과 요구 사항들을 알아본 후, 향후 e-비즈니스가 나아가야 할 시스템 구조로서 지능형 통합 e-비즈니스 레지스트리 시스템 구조를 제안하였다.

  • In this paper, we present a patient real-time vital sign information transmission system to effectively support developing real-time communication service by using a real-time object model named TMO (Time-Triggered Message-Triggered Object). Also, we describe the application environment as the ICU(Intensive Care Unit) to guarantee real-time service message with TMO structure in distributed network systems. We have to design to obtain useful vital sign information, which is generated at parsing data receiver modulor of HIS with TMO structure, that is offered by the central monitor. Vital sign informations of central monitor is composed of the raw data of several bedsite patient monitors. We are willing to maintain vital sign information of real time and continuity that is generated from the bedsite patient monitor. It is able to apply to remote medical examination and treatment. we proposed integration method between a vital sign database systems and hospital information systems. In the real time simulation techniques based on TMO object modeling, We have observed several advantages to the TMO structuring scheme. TMO object modeling has a strong traceability between requirement specification and design.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest knowledge-based digital library model that is applicable in korea university library. This paper provides brief accounts of research and development trends of digital library in referring some major digital library projects that are in progress, or just completed. There follows a suggestion of eight essential modules for knowledge-based digital library system, that are infrastructure development of dissertation presentation and database construction, management and service of collections, infrastructure construction of journal service, development of unified viewer, database conversion, distributed & integrated retrieval system, cyber campus(private work space), and database connection.
