A Vision Based Guideline Interpretation Technique for AGV Navigation (AGV 운행을 위한 비전기반 유도선 해석 기술)

  • AGVs are more and more utilized nowadays and magnetic guided AGVs are most widely used because their system has low cost and high speed. But this type of AGVs requires high infrastructure building cost and has poor flexibility of navigation path layout changing. Thus it is hard to applying this type of AGVs to a small quantity batch production system or a cooperative production system with many AGVs. In this paper, we propose a vision based guideline interpretation technique that uses the cheap, easily installable and changeable color tapes (or paint) as a guideline. So a vision-based AGV with color tapes is effectively applicable to the production systems. For easy setting and changing of AGV navigation path, we suggest an automatic method for interpreting a complex guideline layout including multi-branches and joins of branches. We also suggest a trace direction decision method for stable navigation of AGVs. Through several real-time navigation tests with an industrial AGV installed with the suggested technique, we confirmed that the technique is practically and stably applicable to real industrial field.

A New Asynchronous Pipeline Architecture for CISC type Embedded Micro-Controller, A8051 (CISC 임베디드 컨트롤러를 위한 새로운 비동기 파이프라인 아키텍쳐, A8051)

  • The asynchronous design methods proved to have the higher performance in power consumption and execution speed than synchronous ones because it just needs to activate the required module without feeding clock in the system. Despite the advantage of CISC machine providing the variable addressing modes and instructions, its execution scheme is hardly suited for a synchronous Pipeline architecture and incurs a lot of overhead. This paper proposes a novel asynchronous pipeline architecture, A80sl, whose instruction set is fully compatible with that of Intel 80C51, an embedded micro controller. We classify the instructions into the group keeping the same execution scheme for the asynchronous pipeline and optimize it eliminating the bubble stage that comes from the overhead of the multi-cycle execution. The new methodologies for branch and various instruction lengths are suggested to minimize the number of states required for instructions execution and to increase its parallelism. The proposed A80C51 architecture is synthesized with 0.35${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ CMOS standard cell library. The simulation results show higher speed than that of Intel 80C51 with 36 MHz and other asynchronous counterparts by 24 times.

The Compressed Instruction Set Architecture for the OpenRISC Processor (OpenRISC 프로세서를 위한 압축 명령어 집합 구조)

  • To achieve efficient code size reduction, this paper proposes a new compressed instruction set architecture for the OpenRISC architecture. The new instructions and their corresponding formats are designed by the profiling information of the existing instruction usage. New 16-bit instructions and 32-bit instructions are proposed to compressed the existing 32-bit instructions and instruction sequences, respectively. The proposed instructions can be classified into three types. The first is the new 16-bit instructions for the frequent normal 32-bit instructions such as add, load, store, branch, and jump instructions. The second type is the new 32-bit instructions for the consecutive two load instructions, two store instructions, and 32-bit data mov instructions. Finally, two new 32-bit instructions are proposed to compress function prolog and epilog code, respectively. OpenRISC hardware decoder is extended to support the new instructions. Experiments show that the efficiency of code size reduction improves by an average of 30.4% when compared to the OR1200 instruction set architecture without loss of execution performance.

A Study of Center Longitudinal Shunt-Series Coupling Slot Fed by Asymmetric Compound Iris for Waveguide Slot Coupler (도파관 슬롯 커플러용 비대칭 복합 아이리스에 의해 급전되는 중심 종방향 션트-시리즈 결합 슬롯에 관한 연구)

  • This paper proposes a new coupling element of microwave slot coupler for designing waveguide slot array which can reduce the effect of undesired higher order mode coupling between coupling and radiating slots in the branch waveguide. The proposed device is composed of a centered longitudinal shunt-series coupling slot at the center of broad wall shared by two crossed rectangular waveguides and an asymmetric compound iris that excites the coupling slot. We first have obtained scattering parameters for the proposed coupler by use of EM S/W tool HFSS and then extracted the parameters of T- network equivalent circuit for the coupling slot. We also have analyzed the resonant properties such as resonant length and normalized admittance by changing the geometrical dimensions. The measured results for the fabricated coupler with short-circuited block ${\lambda}_g/4$ away from the coupling slot are well agreed with the simulated ones.

Numerical Analysis of Flow Rate Distribution of Diffusers with Various Shapes (다양한 디퓨저 형상의 유량 분배 특성에 관한 수치해석 연구)

  • In this study, the distribution characteristics of diffusers with various shapes that are installed in an open-type thermal storage system are numerically investigated. Four diffusers are designed to distribute a working fluid evenly through the holes on bifurcated pipes. Three-dimensional steady simulations of incompressible laminar flow are conducted using commercial software (ANSYS-FLUENT). The simulation results show that both the bidirectional header-type diffuser and the H-type diffuser distribute the working fluid evenly whereas both the unidirectional and the bidirectional diffusers distribute the working fluid unevenly. The results also show that the H-type diffuser requires a higher head of pump than the bidirectional header-type diffuser. Therefore, the bidirectional header-type diffuser is recommended for use because it enables even distribution of the working fluid and requires a low head of pump.

  • It's difficult to find efforts for individualization other than suggesting simple, branching level learning materials among the developed courseware. The reason is primarily attributed to the facts that the courseware itself is not flexible, a fixed structure which is not reusable, and numerous costs and time should be consumed to develop one. In the same context of the appearance of the object-oriented concept in the method of software development, the concept of 'learning object' has appeared in the development of courses and contents, paving the way toward the possibility of designing versatile courses through the learning object. In the learning object-based course design, however, it still has similar shape and structure to the existing courseware, and the effort to realize the individualized learning by utilizing the learning object is not sufficient, as well. In this study, I suggest a outlined learning object model which can support the individualized learning by expanding the existing learning object, and based on th is model. design a instructional model that can show an individualized learning path, based on the ADDIE model.

SIW-Based 2×4 Array Antenna with a Sequential Feeding for X-Band Satellite Communication (순차적 급전을 이용한 위성 통신용 SIW 2×4 배열 안테나)

  • In this paper, SIW-based $2{\times}4$ uniform array antenna with a sequentially fed 8-way power divider with an equal division characteristic is proposed for an application of X-band satellite communication. In particular, sequential feeding structures with a progressive phase difference of 90 degrees between the nearest elements have been suggested to protect the cancellation of electric fields due to the array alignments and to enhance the purity of RHCP(Right-Handed Circular Polarization). The obtained results according to the return loss bandwidth, RHCP antenna gain, axial ratio bandwidth are 760 MHz ranging from 7.90 to 8.66 GHz under the criterion of less than -10 dB, 14.3 dBic at 8.3 GHz, and 600 MHz from 8.15 to 8.75 GHz, respectively. In addition, it is observed that the equal-division characteristic of SIW-based 8-way power divider is approximately -9.2 dB in all ports.

Comparison of Limit Strength of Steel Cable-Stayed Bridges using Nonlinear Inelastic Displacement and Buckling Analyses (비선헝 비탄성 유한변위 해석 및 좌굴해석에 의한 강사장교의 극한강도 비교)

  • The study examines the limit strength for steel cable-stayed bridges. A case studies have been performed in order to evaluate the limit strength lot steel cable-stayed bridges using nonlinear inelastic analysis approach and bifurcation point instability analysis approach, effective tangent modulus $(E_f)$ method. To realize it, a practical nonlinear inelastic analysis condoling the initial shape is developed. In the initial shape analysis, updated structural configuration is introduced instead of initial member forces for beam-column members at every iterative step. Geometric and material nonlinearities of beam-column members are accounted by using stability function, and by using CRC tangent modulus and parabolic function, respectively Besides, geometric nonlinearity of cable members is accounted by using secant value of equivalent modulus of elasticity. The load-displacement relationships obtained by the proposed method are compared well with those given by other approaches. The limit strengths evaluated by the proposed nonlinear inelastic analysis for the proposed cable-stayed bridges with tee dimensional configuration compared with those by the inelastic bifurcation point instability analyses.

Shape Design Sensitivity Analysis of Dynamic Crack Propagation Problems using Peridynamics and Parallel Computation (페리다이나믹스 이론과 병렬연산을 이용한 균열진전 문제의 형상 설계민감도 해석)

  • Using the bond-based peridynamics and the parallel computation with binary decomposition, an adjoint shape design sensitivity analysis(DSA) method is developed for the dynamic crack propagation problems. The peridynamics includes the successive branching of cracks and employs the explicit scheme of time integration. The adjoint variable method is generally not suitable for path-dependent problems but employed since the path of response analysis is readily available. The accuracy of analytical design sensitivity is verified by comparing it with the finite difference one. The finite difference method is susceptible to the amount of design perturbations and could result in inaccurate design sensitivity for highly nonlinear peridynamics problems with respect to the design. It turns out that $C^1$-continuous volume fraction is necessary for the accurate evaluation of shape design sensitivity in peridynamic discretization.

  • For a long time now, general-purpose processors have provided dedicated hardware / software tracing modules to provide developers with tools to fix bugs. A hardware tracer generates its enormous data into a log that is used for both performance analysis and debugging. Processor Trace (PT) is a new hardware-based tracing feature for Intel CPUs that traces branches executing on the CPU, which allows the reconstruction of the control flow of all executed code with minimal labor. Hardware tracer has been integrated into the operating system, which allows tight integration with its profiling and debugging mechanisms. However, in the Windows environment, existing studies related to PT focused on decoding only one flow in sequence. In this paper, we propose an extended PT decoder structure that provides basic data for real-time trace and malicious code detection using the functions provided by PT in Windows environment.
